hours to finish the game
that's pretty good

I'm sure just before release you'll have some jackass speed run it and get through it in 4-5 hours claiming how short it is and get everyone's expectations low. It happened with Ratchet and Clank.

I think it will be one of my favorite games, if not the favorite, of the year. But I am pretty sure reviews will not be glowing. It is just too different of a game to resonate with today's audience imo and some of the design choices will certainly make some reviewers hate it.

I have waited ten years for this moment to arrive. Ico was my favorite game of all time and shadow of the colossus is top five material...
That's right, Ico WAS my favorite.

The game took me 12 hours.

My hype is the soda bottle.

You can speed run shadow of the colossus. Man I need to pre order this game. I'm not sure why I haven't yet. It's not a game I care to read reviews of until I play it. It's the same thing I did for shadow of the colossus. Played it blindly the day it came out. It was a rewarding experience.

I really want to throw down $100.00 for the collector's edition on Amazon but I just spent way too much buying into the PS4 ecosystem.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much
I'm not expecting anything amazing, it's going to be short and simple but as long as it retains the soul of Ico and SotC, I'll be satisfied.

"Too short"

"Doesn't live up to the hype, son"

"This dog isn't responding to my commands, wtf"

surly our birddog Trico will react to fire unlike this thing :p

I think it ends up in the 70s on MC.
Which is what I said about FFXV and thankfully, I was wrong!
Still, I think Ueada fans should brace for the worst.

If this game turns out to be a mess qualiTEA wise...

... I just can't. Ueda mustn't fail us now, the last good PS4 exclusive was when Bloodborne graced us with its
moon
presence. My hype is inflating as I'm getting perchED at this very second ngl. Come through Ueda!!!!

9.2

Games like "Inside" & "Journey" (good games imo) score high just from their emotional components alone and so will this.
People posting anything below a 8.5 are just looking for a controversy.

I'm not sure why so many people are saying 60 or 70. Shadow of the Colossus is a 10/10 for me, I have so much hope for The Last Guardian.

I'm going to estimate a metacritic score between high 60s and low 70s. I just can't see reviewers today being favourable to a PS2-era game (mechanically) in 2016.

It doesn't really matter because I've had my copy pre-ordered since 2014 but a high review score means more eyeballs will be on it and potentially more sales. Again, I'm not making a penny off of it, but if the game is what you'd expect from Ueda, then it deserves proper recognition.

regardless of the reviews, I can't wait to finally play this

btw, considering it's development and how much the gaming world has changed since Ueda's last game, I don't think it's going to review all that well

No, they score high because they're mechanically sound games that are as fun to play as they are to cry to. Not saying Last Guardian isn't going to score high because I really believe in Ueda, but being emotional doesn't mean you're getting love by the critics, this isn't the indie folk scene.

Im going by what people said after previewing it

It received quite a lot of critisism for the control scheme and the AI

So did SOTC when it came out but it didn't prevent high scores. I believe this will be judged on a much harsher scale, though. I am not going to knock it for jank if the emotional experience is anywhere on ICO and SOTC'S level. Low scores or not, I will trust my taste in games on this one. I believe Ueda said it will be timeless which gives me hope.

"Ueda, in an interview with GameSpot, said that "The Last Guardian" was designed to be "timeless, something that was going to last a very long time."

Hoping this gets good reviews, I am really looking forward to playing a game which is not open world or a fps. Hopefully its gets reviewed for its own merits and not in comparison to the type of games mentioned.
