Is there a PS4 Pro patch?

yes

edit: beaten.

I'm looking forward to reviews though I probably won't let them heavily sway my decision. I expect critics will enjoy the world and art direction but clunky ICO and SOTC-like controls probably won't get a pass. 7-8 range seems like a safe bet. I'll say 75.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
Welp its out in the wild. Guess I will not be clicking on any spoilers in any TLG topics from now on. Might drop out closer to release except for the review topic. OT is off limits till I'm done.

I'm really looking forward to seeing all the complaints on TLG's controls being "janky" and "PS2-era", especially from that subset of reviewers who seemingly can't even play games with very simple and precise controls, such as the Mario games and the recent DOOM. That thread is going to be messy.

I feel the opposite, I really hope they let this guy review it. The new video content could be more comedy gold.

I don't really care about the aggregate. All I want to see is one or two critics say it's worthy of the Ueda legacy. Then I'll know there's nothing to worry about.

I hate predicting things, so I want TLG's metacritic score to be the exact number that XV ends up settling at. I've spent so many years waiting for both of them, they might as well match.

I still can't believe they're only releasing a week apart. Bizarre.

When I went to go see Fantastic Beasts, a trailer for this played before the movie trailers.

A dude lost his shit and shout "Holy fuck, I thought it was cancelled."

Its really happening guys

I hope the controls are better than SotC's. I really enjoyed Ico but could never get far into SotC because of the controls which is a very rare problem for me to have.

True story, I haven't visited IGN once since they fucked up and said the game was cancelled and I don't plan to ever do it again. My life has improved considerably.

I expect great things from this. I think most will be forgiving for the controls. They're a deliberate choice just like they were in ICO and SOTC.

Didn't hurt those games.

Man i hope this game is good. I hope it ia the emotional, artsy, slightly pretentious master piece we all hope it is. 2016 needs atleast one miracle.

Here's to hoping SONY has been chronicling this games development with a documentary. A million times more interested in that.

I guess cockatrice and chimera look like something NMS made by that game's generator too
/s

Sure, they absolutely do, but I didn't really mean it as an insult. It's an algorithmic attempt to make new creations that are reasonable proportioned combinations of existing creatures, which is exactly what the cockatrice and chimera are.

If Ueda has nailed the core aspects delivering a great emotional journey with Trico acting like a real animal and the game being a solid puzzle/platform game at its basis, I think it will get really positive reviews overall.
There will definetly be those who are not into this genre and will only be able to see how controls are not modern (although they're not even meant to be that way), just like there will be the usual clickbait articles/reviews made on purpose to get hits. But they will be in the minority. I would definetly be satisfied with a FFXV-like review situation.

Btw people are too focused on reviews, I only hope that the game can capture the magic of when I played Ico for the first time =) People can write whatever they want, who cares.

"Artistic" games tend to get a pass when it comes to technical aspects. As long as they deliver a heartfelt and unique experience, the critics should eat it up.

I'm expecting mid 80s to mid 90s with a sprinkle of perfect scores for the folks that get really caught up in the atmosphere.

Like Ico and Sotc , the emotional aspects will likely out weigh the technical aspects.
