Yeah, where are the updates for UC4/TLL/Horizon/BB?

those are the major ones left

good to see TLOU2, but I’d rather play some of those older games
Yeah, I am surprised that Sucker Punch, Sony Bend, SSM and Insomniac patched their games before GG and ND. They are supposed to be the top dogs over at the Sony WWS. I wonder whats going on over there.

This is the kind of stuff you would think they would have ready at launch. This is very basic stuff. Literally a day or two or work adding that toggle. I wonder if they only recently figured out how to get the PS4 games to detect games running on PS5, but again Sony Bend and Sucker Punch had their patches ready for launch.

I’m talking about factions, I appreciate the patch.
Oh well I understand that a bit more, no worries. I think we'll find out more on that game next month or so, when Sony do their next big stream show.

Its clearly gonna be a cross gen standalone game, so that's exciting that its gonna be a significant sized release, not just some tacked on shit.

Yet another TLOUII video from Digital Foundry with no mention whatsoever of ND Global Illumination solution for the torch, which is by far the most impressive technical aspect of the game.

Awesome update by the way, now please Naughty Dog for the love of God do the same for Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy.

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
Haven't touched it in almost a year, can't remember where I was... maybe I should finish it now it's got a patch, that's if it can hold my attention, gameplay is good.
It's just everything else 😩

Nah, if anything this PS4 patch proves that they didnt have to do any of that. They literally only had to add a toggle to the PS4 version.
Yeah that's what you think, but you still don't know if it was that simple.

Take Horizon Zero Dawn for example. A lot of the physics of things like Aloy's hair and other cloth simulation was only rendered at 30fps, so changing the game to 60fps, didn't affect those things. There could've been things like this in TLOU2, but you just don't know. The game was originally DESIGNED for a 30fps cap, so simply removing that cap could cause other things to break.

Don't come in here like you know how easy stuff is when you didn't work on the game.

Ok it's cool for 60fps but why this PS4 game still run on 1440p on PS5 ?

GOT, HZD run at 1800p on PS5
GOW 2160p

But TLOU2 only 1440p : /
God of War is checkerboard 2160p = 4.14 million pixels.
Horizon ZD is checkerboard 2160p = 4.14 million pixels.
The Last of Us Part 2 is native 1440p = 3.68 million pixels.
Ghost of Tsushima is checkerboard 1800p = 2.88 million pixels.

All just different ways to use the PS4 Pro. All are good.

None are PS5 games, and HZD is still 30 Hz (for now).

This is the same nonsense we heard about Bloodborne and Uncharted 4. And you have people releasing unofficial patches getting the game to run at 60 fps just by reducing the resolution.

It really is that easy. Console games are no longer this magical unicorn software that works differently from any other piece of gaming software. They are running on PC architecture and the fact that the PS4 Pro was able to run PS4 games without any patches and then the PS5 was able to run PS4 games without any patches points to how things just work. The hardware is already backward compatible. Most games already run at well over 30 fps even if they are locked at 30 fps. It's nonsense to suggest otherwsie.

Been waiting for this to get platinum. Played through twice with everything done besides handful of collectibles. Time for another playthrough and to clean up

Abby > Ellie
Both of them are garbage characters, they lack any kind of depth. Only made to appease the woke generation, they killed off the only character that had moral depth and complex personality, good thing the gameplay is excellent.

Free patch, honestly can't complain. Still have a sneaky suspicion they might do a more substantial "upgrade" and include it either with Factions or TLoU1 Remaster.

You're actually an idiot right? I mean you should know that there are optimizations to software whether or not the hardware is PC-based right? Otherwise, Bloodborne wouldn't be the way it is and Horizon Zero Dawn also wouldn't have certain things tied to the frame rate.

Like I said, you have no idea what types of tricks, hacks and optimizations they've done to make the game look as good as it does. It's not always as simple as changing FPS=30 to FPS=60.

Unless you worked on TLOU2, don't tell me how easy or fast it is to unlock the frame rate.

I've been holding off on playing this because I wanted a PS5 patch, and now I have it. I am surprised how stable the 60fps is, only dropped for a second at one section in 8 hours of testing for Digital Foundry, that's good shit.
