Still quite possibly the best looking game ever made
I still think RDR2(especially running on PC) and MSFS hold the crown, but you could make a VERY compelling argument for TLOU2...too. What an awesome time to be alive that we can even have the discussion/debate.Still quite possibly the best looking game ever made
Naughty Dog games in a nutshell. There are certain parts of their games that are really really cool the first time, but then when you replay it you're like.... COME ON... NOT THIS AGAIN! Like walking through the desert in UC3. Really freakin awesome the first time you do it, then it's just annoying every time after.man this fucking game starts slow.. the 60fps patch is nice but its a slog to replay so far - and I liked it on my first go on release
same reason I could never replay part 1 despite it being a great game all around. Oddly I enjoyed Uncharted 4 more the second time...Naughty Dog games in a nutshell. What was it bumped up from and what is it now?It literally says "enhanced resolution" in the trailer in the OP so I don't know what you guys are talking about saying the resolution wasn't bumped...

The Last of Us Part 2 (PS5) 4K 60FPS HDR Gameplay - (Enhanced Performance Patch)
Always a pleasure seeing John remain levelheaded.Oh boy

He said it was bumped. I was just asking what the bump was since he was so adamant. Digital foundry says there is no change in resolution. Does that make sense?why the fuck are you asking him ?
Wait for DigitalFoundry's 200x and 400x wah wah zoom shit...
Sony confirmed that the resolution is the same as the PS4 Pro version. He said it was bumped. I was just asking what the bump was since he was so adamant. Digital foundry says there is no change in resolution. Does that make sense?
It's always nice when ANYONE can be level headed. It's easy to get caught up in the 'Ol Console War that it's a shame that the games can't just be appreciated for what they are and can offer. I'm a fan off ALL gaming, still have my preferences, but I love seeing everything constantly getting elevated from healthy competition.Always a pleasure seeing John remain levelheaded.
Damn John, don't expected such salty response by himOh boy

The Last of Us Part 2 has finally received a PlayStation 5 exclusive performance update, pushing the already-stunning game to 60 frames per second. The update is available for free right now. Here it is in action, captured in 4K 60fps.
TLOU2 was released back in June 2020 as a PlayStation 4 and PS4 Pro exclusive. On May 19, it was announced on the PS Blog that the PlayStation 5 update offers options for 30 FPS or 60 FPS framerate targets. A new 1.08 patch for the game will offer PS5 players a framerate toggle in the Display options menu. Other enhancements, such as resolution and load time improvements, were already available to players on PS5 through backward compatibility.
A Shadow of the Colossus patch is all but confirmed to be coming next, considering the last game boost trailer. let’s hope Sony keeps it upSo the only games that Sony have that need to be boosted to 60fps are:
Shadow of Collosus - quality mode needs a framerate unlock
Last Guardian - non patched version is already 60fps
Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy - only multiplayer supports 60fps, campaign needs a framerate unlock
Horizon - PC version is already 60fps
Death Stranding - PC version is already 60fps
Gravity Rush 2 - Bluepoint managed to get the original running in 60fps on PS4 from Vita version perhaps they can takeover patching duties as Japan Studio is no more
So these are the only games that can get a 60fps that are on PS4 Pro
However there are games that didn't even get a PS4 Pro updatel which are Bloodborne and The Order. The Order can be ignored as it probably ain't worth the effort for such a old game that's not liked. But I feel Bloodborne needs a full remaster with DualSense support, instant loading from death, 4K60. Bluepoint should do it as they have experience with porting games and they already did a remake of a From Software game.

Is the resolution raised? I noticed the promo video said it had “enhanced resolution”Part 1
$60, June 2013 - TLOU PS3 - 720p @ 30 FPS
$60, July 2014 - TLOU PS4 - 1080p @ 60 FPS
Part 2
$60, June 2020 - TLOU2 PS4 - 1080p @ 30 FPS
FREE, May 2021 - TLOU2 on PS5 - 1440p @ 60 FPS
Not too shabby in comparison to how it went last time.
Nobody said that, it's the same 1440p like on PS4 ProTested and 60fps feels really good but the game continues with the same blurry IQ. I come from Resident Evil Village in PS5, and the IQ is night and day. For sure The Last of Us 2 update is not 4k, don't even close.
Oh boy

And all those videos that claims 4K 60fps gameplay?Nobody said that, it's the same 1440p like on PS4 Pro
On youtube you mean? That's just mean that video encoded in 4k60fps, and that's allAnd all those videos that claims 4K 60fps gameplay?
Its same as PS4 Pro, native 1440p. So its "enhanced" resolution if you're a regular PS4 user, but not PS4 Pro.Is the resolution raised? I noticed the promo video said it had “enhanced resolution”

it was probably a dig towards Xbox’s performance patches, which force the games to run in base Xbox One mode. Its same as PS4 Pro, native 1440p. So its "enhanced" resolution if you're a regular PS4 user, but not PS4 Pro.
Most PS4 users do not have Pro models, so its a meaningful increase for probably like 60-70% of PS4 users.
I have to actually second that. Literally the reason I stopped playing Days Gone on PS4 Pro was that they reduced the draw distance and lod to like 1 inch away from the player with one of the updates. It pissed me off so much that I stopped playing. Tried it again on ps5 and it was better. Much, much better. So you're saying the image is fake? I played the game on PS4 Pro and I know how low quality the models were and the PS5 version pretty much solved this problem. Edit: Also, the 1st 2 pictures were taken by me on my PS5 and PS4 Pro from the same save file.
Ehh I doubt it, they just probably wanted something else to say besides just 60 FPS, lol.it was probably a dig towards Xbox’s performance patches, which force the games to run in base Xbox One mode.
The ad meant the game keeps the pro resolution while doubling the framerate, but left it very unclear
Jesus wep, blue balled like beta cucks we have been.
So there was no complete PS5 enhancement, just simple no shits given for all this time. Bad Sony!
At least it’s finally here, another 12m for Uncharted? Ever?
So you're saying the image is fake?
A lot of those boosted titles on Xbox are still at 900p. Most people don't know this. You know shit is going sideways for your console of choice when the best thing it has going for it being able to Plants vs Zombies at 120fps. Clearly I want to pay $500 for a new console so I can play games *checks notes* a bunch of fucking Assassin's Creed and Lego games at 60 fps.
There were a few weird issues going on with the in-game lighting flickering. There's some weird ghosting and flickering going on with my game. Most noticeable indoors. Almost like the vsync is wonky. Anyone else getting this?
Abby?
Actually, not it isn't. I played the PS4 Pro version and I compared them side by side and the PS5 version did indeed have better draw distances and object detail into the distance. The PS4 Pro game (same patch) has really low poly models even close up, whereas the PS5 version does not. Do you need a screenshot or something?
PS4 Pro: Notice the missing wheels on the trucks in the distance

PS5: Notice the wheels on the trucks as well as more foliage into the distance and some extra rock details on the sides. Open these 2 images up in their own tabs and switch back and forth.

Look at the mag wheel directly under the bench on PS4 and PS4 Pro. Look at how low-poly it is, whereas the PS5 version is high quality.

This is also my plan of action, left both of them for when this happened!Time for a grounded permadeath new game plus run for the last two trophies.
