The OFFICIAL Nintendo Switch 2 reveal! What did we learn?

Glad I don't have any of those games 😂

Curious to see the full list. I expect all the big first party games ( Mario odyssey, Zelda, Pokemon etc) will work fine.

Hopefully.....
Looking at just the hardware, I don’t think there are any other games that won’t play on the Switch 2 by default. Even 3rd party. I think we’re gonna see a 99.9% comparability rate.

They said they have the hardware onsite…so why wouldn’t they be right about their info.

And the hardware is not released. But they changed the tune when Nintendo lawyers showed up at CES.

So now they have to explain if they have the hardware, who sold it, where, how. If they don't have the hardware, where in the leak pipeline they got the information. They are not official distributers of accessories, so their knowledge comes from nefarious means.

I see what you're saying--too many remasters/ports--but you know that, factually the Switch has lots of games the Wii U doesn't, and there's Wii U software that never made its way to the Switch.

Honestly, you could use this logic to call the PS5 a PS4 remaster, or any generation with backwards compatibility and remasters... but you wouldn't because it's silly.
No. I'm saying they are the same generation. To the person playing on the tv. WE are in year 13. Yes we had to buy a new piece of hardware in between to continue playing this generation's games. But that's semantics. BEause the old system was perfectly capable of playing the same games in basically identical fashion from graphics to controls.

PS5 is not a PS4 generation system.

You must not have had a Wii U lol.

IF that is indeed the case, I can forgive the less than impressive graphics.

Wouldn't that mainly be due to the fact that it is a Switch 1 game which has Switch 2 support?

I've definitely seen a few people post Mario Kart 9 is going to be cross-gen Switch1+2.

Yep the only games that won't work are ones that depended on something very specific about the Switch. For example the Labo cardboard was made for the dimensions of the Switch and its joycons and also used the IR sensor. The Mario HOme Circuit might not work either. IF it doesn't have HD rumble ...perhaps some party games won't work very well. ...

Oh, I had a Wii U.

I guess I was just inured "to the barely a step up" generation gap after the Gamecube to Wii transition. Plus, I also owned a 3DS.

Switch is just a portable Wii U. Thus when played on a tv it becomes a Wii U. ;)

GC to Wii was a bigger jump amazingly. Powerwise obviously wasn't much a leap but still bigger leap than Wii U to Switch. And then you also got online play with the multi-tasking OS and digital downloads. And then of course the big focus on motion controls.

We learned we won’t be playing this, this spring. Probably July at the earliest but that’s probably some hopium. Seems like a fall launch imo.
