If you want to make a scalper earn his keep, I suggest buying a drive on ebay and submitting a return on the 30th day. Rinse and repeat until they're widely available in stores. It requires a bit of leg work, but at least you'd be doing it with a nice smirk.
One thing to consider is that I've been digital only for modern games for the better part of two decades and I'm still rebuying shit I had physical on PC. This might be your sign to go ahead and take the leap. If nothing else for a better shot at backwards compatibility since we're getting strong signs the disc drives are going away. Disc version of Returnal might not do much good on a PS7, but a digital license might. Emulators don't do the trick for me so I'm still building a physical collection for NES->PS2. I get it. Everything after that gets sketchy when it comes to physical.
