I remember Sims 1 and what novelty it was. Kids these days don't realize how special this game was back then.
As someone who has played a good amount of Sims 3 and 4, I have no desire to play these games. Now if this was Sims 3 I would get the hype. That was a great game held back by technical issues.Graphics don't make a game. I'd say The Sims 2 at least would still be very playable today, The Sims 1 more of a novelty I guess, but that's due to lack of content rather than graphics.
sims 3 is literally still for sale though on steam, even. It performs well... even better than 2 on the steam deck. What is it that you want done about Sims 3?As someone who has played a good amount of Sims 3 and 4, I have no desire to play these games. Now if this was Sims 3 I would get the hype. A 64-bit version with support for processors with more than 1 core so it doesn’t run like shit.sims 3 is literally still for sale though on steam, even. It performs well... even better than 2 on the steam deck. What is it that you want done about Sims 3?
If only they were introduced.. I let my daughter play the first Sims a year or so ago and she fell in love instantly - who wouldn't? The first Sims game is magic. I remember spending so many hours on this game near release, still love it to this day, one of my all time favorites even though it doesn't cross my mind often.I remember Sims 1 and what novelty it was. The macOS version is supposed to be 64bit providing you use the updated version of Origin (EA still hasn't rebranded the mac version of that client), however I'm inclined to believe it's running in some sort of wrapper (Cider) like the original copy's of Sims 3 were. If it's native then good on EA for continuing support.A 64-bit version with support for processors with more than 1 core so it doesn’t run like shit.
No Steam Achievements or Cloud saves though, I'm disappointed.
Yup. Not touching this with a barge pole unless I can find it super cheap on the grey market.Bruh. I didn't expect much but TS1 still in 4:3? Probably locked to 800x600? Requires EA app to be running in the background? Has Denuvo? So, absolutely minimum effort possible to get the program working on modern systems so you could sell nostalgia and squeeze a couple more bucks out of people.
Fuck. You. EA.
Edit cuz I'm big mad.
I cannot believe I allowed myself to think they might actually redo the UI, add support for arbitrary resolutions, maybe even include higher resolution textures. The cherry on top would be if these new versions were even harder/impossible to mod because of the various connection requirements and protections, making them the actual worst versions of the games. That would be... Incredible.
Denuvo![]()
If you're concerned about Denuvo and EA App requirements listed on the store, they are NOT required for The Sims. The store page is referencing the included DLC for Sims 4 which requires Denuvo and EA App.
B-but The Sims 4 is not using Denuvo either... what's going on then? This is insane, I can't believe it's not a mistake. These games have been available on torrents for 20 years.
Edit: Okay, it's because they're including some Sims 4 add-on as a bonus:

yeah sims 4 has never had denuvo so this is weird. Why would they put Denuvo on the steam page as a typo? Weird. I did see somewhere that EAbackgroundservice.exe runs in the bg tho. Not sure what's true or what's not at this point lol. Anyway, got from another forum :B-but The Sims 4 is not using Denuvo either... what's going on then?
Sims 2 Mobile should still be a thingI’d kill for these to get mobile releases. I’ve been wanting to play SimCity 2000, RCT2, and the Sims on my phone for YEARS. But instead, we get bullshit micro transaction games with horrible execution.
I even installed XP on an emulator on my iPhone the other day just to play SimCity 2000. It took like four hours.
The worst part is, 2000 actually was briefly available on iOS like a decade ago, but it’s impossible to redownload or play on modern phones.![]()
Dawg 20 bucks for both would be an instant buy
No Steam Achievements or Cloud saves though, I'm disappointed.
If you buy the 25th anniversary collection on steam its only 39,99! EA press release: "The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle retails for $39.99"Dawg 20 bucks for both would be an instant buy
haha, they won't thats like $371 and if you hurry you can get the generous $170 50% off bundle for a 14 year old game... act now supplies are limited....If they do sims 3 with all DLC I'm in

Seems like there's 16:9 support, not sure why Steam screenshots are 4:3.
Honestly, stick with 3. 4 is such a downgrade. 1 and 2 were good too.So i've decided to install Sims 4 on Steam since it's free.
Does anyone have experience with Sims 4? Is the base game good?
I would but only 4 is free to play on Steam and i don't intend to buy a Sims game right now honestly.Honestly, stick with 3. 4 is such a downgrade. 1 and 2 were good too.
