First thoughts, this is silly.
You see a console advertised with a kickstand and you still cannot imagine it used on a flat surface?
I don't think it's lubed or anything. Just provides stability. Then again Switch 1 also has that.
I'm curious about what plans Nintendo has for that extra USB-C.
This is still technically a rumour but based on the trailer we saw, I think it's very much confirmed that the switch will have an optical sensor allowing for traiditonal mouse support. This is based on the movements of the joycons sliding all over the place.
and well this.
Fantastic news all around right?
So let's look at it.
Both the joycons will have 6 inputs each unless I'm missing something obviously:
The 4 face buttons, ZR/L or R/R and the thumbstick pressed in. I'm ignoring the analog stick itself of course.
My question is. What craziness will Nintendo have in store with this feature? Some members mentioned a Fire Emblem with mouse controls.
It certainly might open itself up to more PC ports but I suppose there is a lack of inputs like a keyboard would have but when you open it up to perhaps using both joycon controllers for one player and having access to 12 inputs? Could be a game changer.
I'm thinking for an FPS it could be something.
Could the new Call of Duty take advantage of this?
Could there is a mode in Metroid Prime 4 specifically for this?
I have to believe they have something more in mind for this than merely a new Wario Ware with mini games or a new Mario paint.
Or is it just an easier way to get around their Nintendo Eshop
I think honestly there is massive potential in this control scheme. It could replace gyro as the preferred way to play Splatoon and then some.
What do you think? I would definetly like to hear more about this.
and where do i use that mouse? on my fucking lap?

I mentioned the attachments, look at arthand's post (#11).
What if the can be inserted into a joycon controller type mold, that’s shaped like a mouse? Not a feature I personally care for but it could be done…also 3rd party accessories.terrible ergonomy if true.

gf with a flatass? HELL NAWon a nice smooth girlfriend ass of course

This will be fantastic for Mario Maker 3.
Unless the game uses only one joycon as a mouse and that's it (and there's some buttons on it you can use like your thumb), I dont see how it can be comfortably teamed up with the other joycon as the button presser (like using it for functions like left handed keyboard usage).
Try playing a shooter using both hands with a mouse in each hand. Especially when the Switch 2 would have the joycons point up on the thin side.
Lol… people knock PC for desk play, but Nintendrones: “OMGGGGZZZ REVOLUTIONARY”
How about useing paper and colored pencils instead?
I'm sure we'll be able to emulate Switch 2's Mario Kart 8 Part 3 with the new mouse function on PC in a new emulator with better visuals in 2025 using your PC mouse for enhanced movement. If you want to play with a mouse, get a PC. Nothing beats it in accuracy, polling rate, etc.
Thought this is first and foremost a portable system??
Same place couch/mattress/chair gamers use it.and where do i use that mouse? on my fucking lap?
i bet games like civ would totally support thisTo only be utilized properly in select Nintendo developed games.

Pictures of the underside show that the joycons have something that clearly looks like a mouse sensor. Could be something else but i cant really think of anything.Doubt it. I think it was a cute animation of the joycons racing to the Switch 2.
I can’t imagine that trigger making for a good “mouse button”, which are supposed to be clicky.
Ftfy.If you want to play with a mouse, play wherever it works.
Uh dude, almost every shooter has mkb on console now.In the Tron'ish sequence where two controllers slide across the table with an attachment, that's clearly mouse functionality being shown.
Seems like a no-brainer for a next-gen Splatoon game.
Will MS & Sony scramble to implement similar solutions, or just encourage more m+kb controls in games?
There's an Ashley furniture about 15 miles from my house. I heard they have flat surfaces there you can buy. PM me and I'll smoke signal you the coordinates.and where do i use that mouse? on my fucking lap?
Us PS5 gamers will finally get use of our consoles!and where do i use that mouse? on my fucking lap?
