My daughter loves the Rune Factory games and is super excited for 5 coming out in May. I just got 4 for me and 3 for her on Switch. Once we finish, we will Switch (get it?) and have them both done before 5!

Let's amplify this one, there is a demo available;Tempest Rising, the real C&C spiritual successor.
First Beserker. Legitimately could be the best linear action game since Nioh. Demo is fire
This is a cool initiative, OP. We ought to make this kind of thread a monthly or bi-monthly thing to disseminate info about lesser known upcoming games to other GAF members.
I was thinking what if we simply continued using the same thread, like the graphical fidelity one? That way people can see old and new recommendations. It's a good way for people in 2026 or further to catch games they might have missed. Maybe yearly could work too. It's ultimately up to you guys though. This is the thread gaf needs. Back in the day I would always get the best info about new indies from gaf and that kind of disappeared with the faux exodus.
Hopefully this thread stays active. Bookmarked and thanksMarch Climber
Also to everyone, it doesn't need to be about just indie, there are smaller form or larger budget games that sometimes miss exposure and coverage, but it's about what you personally are looking forward to (regardless of the opinions of others) that people in general might have not been paying attention to.I'm not a huge indie guy, but I have these games in my wishlist, whether they come out good or not, I have no idea...

Immersive sim supreme. Picking up where Looking Glass studios left off, and basically ignoring the slop released between then and now. I've played the first map in Early Access and decided not to touch it again until it's fully complete. A real GOTY contender whenever it releases.
Man, I do hope Wayward Realms will deliver.I hope Kenshi 2 comes out during my lifetime. Aside from that:
Cool N64 looking platformer:
Another cool looking game from the devs behind CrossCode:
This one's from the lead devs of Daggerfall:
2D Zelda-like:
Yeah it's a tough wait, but considering it's a one-man dev team with another couple as part time support, I understand. Love the realization of vision those tiny teams can provide though. No committee to present it to, just doing what you want.Yep every steam sale I check to see if they have a 1.0 release date or not. Even indies are taking too long to come out.
I hope they keep the composer of the Mechanicus 1. That OST was fire. After playing IXION, I am all in on anything Bulwark studios has to make.
Oh wow, this looks super interesting and Battle Brothers is a great game. One of the first that comes to mind is MENACE, by the creators of Battle Brothers:
It got delayed to 2026 but I'm still looking forward to Decapolice.
