Still waiting for their Hogwarts Legacy review.
It'll come out right after the coverage of their friend peter bright... any day now

Third time I've seen eurogamer give the lowest score for a major release and their final sentence completely invalidates the review.
Even when Echochamber do give a decent score the review itself is a load of whinging. Stellar blade received 4 stars. Also received 4 paragraphs of seething by an obese woman

Why was KCD 1 72 on meta? Lol.

Recently tried it, felt more like 8.5-9/10.
It was antiwoke and journos took away points away from its review scores, i remember huge outrage from small clip where henry's dad playfully slaps his mother on the butt, not joking, woke media/journos decided game is bad/deserves bad scores coz its mysogynistic and doesnt have black ppl in it, woke clown shit like that ;)

Has it mentioned anywhere if they improved the lockpicking?. It might sound stupid but its kind of a deal breaker for me with this game and whether i buy it now or in the future when its cheap.

Looks cool and Im glad its scoring well, but Im really not feelin dealing with all of its systems and mechanics again. I sunk a bunch of time into that first game, and wound up not even finishing. Sounds like this one is more of the same and more of everything. Possibly down the line, but no way for $70.

Have people heard saying its "improved"...but to me it looks like the old system. Not sure what exactly has been improved. But I also never understood what was the problem in the beginning. It were usually only people with controller who had problems. With mouse/keyboard lockpicking was easy af.

My takeaway so far is that the game is great if you are patient, but it can be a slog at times? Seems enough to keep me interested. They will probably streamline a lot by the time I get to the game after their exciting year 1 roadmap.

Really don't care for this shit though:

and that's before we get into the knotty briar patch of its director being a vocal supporter of a movement whose effects continue to cause real and tangible harm to the wider industry.

Makes me want to discard the entire review as I can't tell if this bias against the developer has colored the whole review. I just can't give a damn about the makers' personal opinions and lives while consuming art/entertainment. Half of the creative industry is eccentric at best and fucked up at worst anyway. It just seems to come with the territory and I don't have the energy to examine all their lives and pass judgment. If they commit actual crimes, then there are systems in place to address that. This applies to the ongoing "woke" crusades as well. Just stick to reviewing the game and its content will you? Your opinion on their opinions should be shared with a friend (or a therapist).

Yeah controller user here. And i remember reading that they did improve the lockpicking with a patch, later after i had played so maybe its not that bad now anyway.

Its just the first game had a lot of jank and clunky mechanics, but that lockpicking was so frustrating lol. I'll probably wait and see what people on Steam say about it.

Hey that Gamespot review seems pretty dece-

And while there is a character hailing from Mali, Kuttenberg is also conspicuous for its scarcity of people of color, despite being a major trading city. You would expect a small population of merchants from places like the Middle East and North Africa to exist within its market stalls, so they're notable for their absence.

Oh

Fuckers just HAD to squeeze it in there

Is the fucking middle age man, what the hell do they/them expect? People having pronouns and boss women in charge? Fucking radicals man, I hate them

Hopefully the removal of DEI will have an impact in gaming journalism and we won't have to suffer these activists making more stupid reviews anymore
Removing DEI or whatever else isn't going to stop these places from making bad reviews. I remember PC Gamer rating Dragon Age 2 higher than The Witcher 2. They've all been making horrible reviews for decades and will likely continue to do so, agendas or not.
