Another beautiful actress uglified by western developers because *insert one of the many reasons here*.

Also, this is the developer in question:

jIe66No.png
"Hey boss, I think I can fix the lantern jaw, splotchy skin, and the bags under her eyes, really pretty the model up more like the actress we just spent all that money on!"

"No can do, Comrade Miguel, you have 35 hours of DEI training due this quarter, that's the TOP PRIORITY."

"But xir, my lived experience as a straight male brings in the diverse and inclusive viewpoint that I think the audience would really appreciate the work on the model..."

"Hang on, stop right there. Did you say 'straight male'? I'm afraid I'm going to have to escalate this to HR. I'm feeling very uncomfortable with your microaggressions and need to flee to my safe space."

Sure, they made a few modifications, but imo she still definitely looks better than the majority of female protagonists that come out of the West.

If there's any truth to that post, this is beyond fucked up. Having an indian actress and make her speak with another accent is peak racism, these people need to burn IF that is true.

Was that review deleted? I only find this one

It’s this one. It’s in the second page when sorted by recent. If you don’t have a glass door account, I think you are only shown a limited number of them.

Damn, this thing has comics, books, and podcast tie-ins! Looooooota $$$ riding on this one.

And in this "live action" trailer you can easily see the transition of good looking feminine Anya into....the video game version of her. It's pretty jarring. Its right at 38 seconds if the time hack doesn't work.

This is so weird. I'd never heard of Unknown 9, so when I read about other Unknown 9 stories in other media (books, comics) I thought these were all going to be launched at around the same. But it turns out the first (and only?) Unknown 9 comic came out in 2018. There's also the first two Unknown 9 books that came out in 2020 and 2021. These must have sold poorly. The first book has only 190 ratings, the second book only 60. The third book hasn't come out yet. And there's a scripted podcast series that came out in 2020.

All of these Unknown 9 stories in various media sank completely without a trace. There's not even an entry for Unknown 9 on Wikipedia. What made Bandai Namco think this was a promising IP to base a multi million dollar video game upon? This is by far the most expensive Unknwon 9 outing so far and this is going to lose a lot of money.

They seem to be doing a multimedia project like Lucasfilm did with Shadows of the Empire in the '90s. Except that was an experiment to see if an established franchise still excited people, and games didn't have ludicrous budgets back then.

This feels like someone's passion project that somehow got given a large budget and they've just gone full ham, releasing stuff whenever it was done with with no real plan of how to tie it all together and market it.

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places, but the game is out tomorrow and I'm not seeing any hype anywhere. None. Absolutely zero.

Oh, and as for the main character: I actually think the model isn't bad. It's way more accurate than the face model in Outlaws, for example. I reckon the major problem is the problem I seem to have with a lot of "photorealistic" games these days: the lighting and material shaders. For some reason a lot of attempts to make lighting and materials more realistic have led to this trend of everything, skin especially, looking like it's made of clay. People end up looking like figurines painted with matte paint, and I hate it.

LMAO check out the costume DLC. Just in case the default outfit and hairstyle were a little too sexy for your tastes.

I actually thought the costumes looked great. Shadow Pack outfit is cool. Mercenary hairstyle is cool. Less into the Queastor and Aviator ones. They look like they're going for some kind of 1950s style. Not sure how that fits into the story.

Apparently they made her redo all her voice work because she sounded too Indian, would explain the depression
But Anya was born in England. So if she is the voice actress then she was putting on an "indian" accent in the first place. She went to a damned private school for chrissakes!

But she sounds Indian in the trailer above, so I’d say that’s in dispute. Unless they made her re-do her dialogue after that trailer.
I guess we will see. I tried to confirm by watching some launch stream the developers put on but the French director kept talking over all the dialogue.

LectureMaster LectureMaster are you ready for the show? The game unlocks in 7 hours! We got a battle between AA games this week.

Mechwarrior Clans, which is as niche as you can get, dropped yesterday and is currently #3 in top sellers

Unknown 9, a product for the mythical modern audience, drops today and is currently #445

This will be a battle for the ages. Oh and AssCreed Mirage drops on Steam later today. Will an old ass port outperform Unknown 9? Tune in to find out.

Right off the bat, this game probably had little marketing. Unless I missed all the ads and YT videos promoting it, I dont remember seeing or hearing about this game except these gaf threads.

It also looks like a last gen game, which isnt the end of the world because not every game is meant to be a full priced AAA game (which this game isnt as it's budget priced).

Sweet Baby stuff adds fuel to the fire. And anyone following gaming closely knowing about this, is just another curveball thrown into the fire not helping the game's potential sales or social media presence.

Xbox promoted it in their showcase earlier this year. Looks like a jank ass Bollywood version of AssCreed.
