Finished FFVII Rebirth, but decided not to platinum it... All those sidequests became a chore after a while. But, otherwise, awesome game, great visuals (on the pro) and god tier soundtrack.
Started playing Ghostwire Tokyo. The japanese ghost lore in it is amazing.
And a nice sound effect is the voice of your 'partner' coming from both the TV/Soundbar/HT and the Dualsense. It gives an 'echo' that it is fitting for a 'ghost', I think.

Just finished Danganronpa 2 and diving headfirst into 3.

Danganronpa 1 was a wild ride. The story hooked me from the start, and those trial scenes were intense. Some of the twists were a bit obvious, but the overall atmosphere was dark and unsettling.

2nd game intensified things up in every way. The cast was amazing, each character bursting with personality. The trials were even crazier, though sometimes they felt a bit too outlandish. Still, the game kept me guessing, and the ending was a real gut punch.

Finally picked up Death Stranding. Liking it but am starting to really get overwhelmed by the UI and all the mechanics which I can’t tell if are essential or a waste of time.
I finished it when it came out on PC and it was such a warm, soothing, philosophical, weird, odd cluster fuck of an experience, that it left a really strong impression on me. I loved it and it is my favorite Kojima game.

The recent thread on Ocarina of Time and the Holiday season made me want to play some Zelda. Just now playing through A Link to the Past for the first time via Wii virtual console.

Is it just me or is this game kinda hard? Feels like the Gamecube controller analog stick isn't really precise enough for some of the movement expected of the SNES d-pad. I've fallen off the edge of narrow paths more times than I care to admit lol

Temple of the Ancients FF 7 Rebirth. 90+ hours. Starting to get a bit bored honestly. It's a very good game but it drags on forever. Square has drawn out every area to a 20+ hour dungeon which ruins the pacing of the game. It's exhausting to be honest. The first areas were great, fun to explore and you marveled at the sheer scope of each area. They were carefully reconstructed in a way that was true to the original vision but at the same time expanded so that it felt fresh. It was a perfect balance. But now I just want it to be over. Every area just feels like a chore. Especially Temple of the Ancients. At least it builds up to a very dramatic ending.

On my way to meet Vorador. The Oracle's caves were a bit of a pain in the arse - bit too long and confusing.

Excavation of Hob's Burrow
I'm on day two and I'm yet to meet Mr Shoulder.

Resident Evil Village VR
Kept dying in the castle area. Had to change tactics because apparently running into the arms of those sexy vampire ladies isn't how it's done. Or something.

I've been hooked by the TCG Game Shop Simulator. I don't really know much about TCGs except my recent experience with Pokemon TCG Pocket so that's not the draw (free pun) for me. And even though I'm half German, I've never had interest or patience for the various work simulators out there. The loop actually reminds me of Game Dev Story albeit less cute. Every time I wrap up a day, I have that urge to click R3 and play just one more day. It's surprisingly content rich for an early access game at ~$10. Weird to think this is my favorite pickup of the Steam Holiday sale but here I am saying it.

Mostly playing this via the Portal whilst laying in bed at night and it's such a perfect game to do this with. I've completed the Pyramid, traveled to the next town, and went up to the Tower of Transendence and got the Sage book, which I used on my Priest. I have no idea what to pick new jobs for my other two dudes, Martial Artist and Thief.

Okami HD
Decided to play through this again, having not done so since the original Wii. Only just begun, about 2 hours in, and it's such an amazing game.

Farming Simulator 25
Still the game I spend the most hours on, as it eases my mind. I have three fields of barley just harvested, straw baled. That will all go into storage for my two chicken coups, they eat it up fast. I have sheeps making wool, and just put in a goat enclosure. My 80+ water buffalos keep making lots of milk, which I turn into buffalo mozzarella, which sells for a shit ton.

Dragon Age: Veilguard
Still slowly working on this. I just recruited the Necro guy who looks like Vincent Price, and am now recruiting the Kunari dragon hunter person. I like the idea of a water dragon that dives into the ocean to scoop up fish, that's bad ass. The locations continue to impress me, really interesting architecture and design.

Went to a little vacation to another country so I checked out to see how xcloud works (it is not supported in my country) and I was surprised how well it works even on what looks like a shitty wifi here and probably not the best internet connection. Barely any delay and IQ seems to be better than the last time I tried. Don’t have a controller so I’ve played a lot of stuff like Slay the Spire, A little to the left, Pillars of Eternity and so on.

The last few nights, I've gone back to a game called townsmen. It's like a mix of populous and theme park.

I'm playing the vr version. Like some other unlikely genres, it's surprising how good vr can be for a game like this. I take for granted that top down playfields can only be seen through the rectangular viewport of your monitor. In vr it's... all there in front of you. If anyone remembers, they used to call these "god games" and I feel just a little more like god lol.

Finished space marine 2, I really enjoyed it. The combat is incredibly fun, both the melee and shooting aspect. It's become one of my favourite action games of all time. The story is also good, great writing and dialogue.

Finished Doom (2016) last night.
Great game. I needed a nice palette cleanser. Fun, quick, boom-boom.
I’m going to do a nightmare difficulty for a more challenging run.

there is a part at the last quarter of the game where you are tasked with destroying the A.I VEGA I thought the story was going in a different direction.
Samuel Hayden teams up with you to bring down VEGA and close the demon portal.
I thought it was going to be unveiled that VEGA destroyed Samuel long ago and was behind everything. I haven’t played Eternal so the story does go on.

I will be resuming my game of Prey (2017) and Psychonauts.

Been playing a lot of Indiana Jones this Christmas. It's pretty fucking great. It has a great old school adventure feel over it. It's focused on exploring and the areas are big and full of different secrets and mysteries, lore findings and enemies to punch in the face. I like the brawler approach. Feels a bit more grounded and realistic than to just go gung ho and blast everyone with a gun. Graphically very impressive with a lot of attention to detail. Love this game so far. So good.

Finally got around to playing Phantom Liberty and it was great. Then I just decided to replay the entire base game and ended up getting the platinum. It took maybe 75 hours in total.

Forced myself out of Path of Exile 2. Game's too good, put 150+ hours in like 2 weeks and had to quit playing out of concern for my physical and mental health.

10/10 videogame. :goog_relieved:

Now I'm playing Mass Effect. Got the Legendary Edition for 4 eurodollars, applied some mods to fix some fuckups the remake has and also to fix the dynamic lights. Game's a looker, and plays very nice. The AI is kinda shit lol, but I kinda remember that being the case when the original released.

Super fun game, miss that Bioware. Would be cool if Larian made a space-opera RPG like ME.

I'm currently playing Cyberpunk 2077 and CDPR are just pure trash devs (I'm not saying the game is bad, I'm saying the devs are). I won't go into the writing for now, I'll maybe do that in a detailed post later, but the fact alone that this single player game require ANOTHER DEDICATED LAUNCHER is ridiculous beyond any measure. For that alone I regret purchasing this game and will probably not purchase another one of their titles.

And now, this game won't even boot. Did fine yesterday. There were no updates, no nothing. Just suddenly decided it doesn't wanna boot. Doesn't give me any detailed explanation either. But it forces me to verify my files through steam every time (which takes like at least 5 minutes), then BOOT UP THE LAUNCHER AGAIN, just to crash once more and then FORCE ME to verify the files again before it even allows me to boot the launcher 😂😂😂

Like honestly this is the most ridiculous shit I've seen in a while, setting up shadps4 for Bloodborne is less of a hassle. If you google the error in question, which is apaprently really widespread, then this shows up
WirlEP0.png

Like are they for real 😂? Like Stalker 2 is a mess, but at least it boots lmao. I regret giving them money so much.

E: Got it running again, but fuck this game. I can't take it anymore. The writing is so ridiculously obnoxious and milquetoast. I'm usually not much complaining about wokeness but this is just such a sledge hammer approach to it. EVERYWHERE AND EVERYONE of importance and influence and interest in this fucking game is some kind of bipoc lgbtq minority. Go there, talk with this elder black lady who you're supposed to feel is like some kind of authority for some reason. After that, talk to that really badass black bald chick who's so badass it comes through every line. After that, go to the jamaican ghetto because OF COURSE. Or maybe go back talk some more to the chick who's editing porn, but her porn is totally artful and legit and stuff and not like the smut other people produce.............................

Honestly it's silly. This bad writing also reflects in how awful V as a character is written in general, and how this game has you on railroads constantly. Can't draw your weapon, can't even fucking sprint all the fucking time because the game feels it's not appropriate(?) to do so in what is supposed to be this really shade nightlife bar. Also gotta be real nice to all the people the game deeds as "good", because fuck role playing. I don't even wanna start about Keanu Reeves because it's genuinely exhausting how awful this game is written. I know some parts of this sound uber racist, but it's really more of a culmination of things. There's not one decently written scenario or character in this game (so far). Mr Hands for fuck's sake, who comes up with this shit?!

Final boss in FF7 Rebirth and it's terrible. It's so over the top and drawn out I just feel like giving up. Square needs to dial it the fuck down. There is so much effects and huge set pieces going on you don't have a clue what the fuck is going on. You're just button mashing at this point. And every character needs to do their part so therefore it's a seven part fight against huge deformities that looks like Sephiroth. They are trying so hard to make it epic but instead it just comes off as annoying and stupid. Im so sick of this game right now.

od-chan od-chan thought CP was a 7/10. Those side-missions that kinda play like Deus Ex are very cool, and the best part of the game imo. The rest was all very forgetable.

Gave up on the last fight in FF7 Rebirth. What a fucking waste of time. A 2+ hour boss battle that never ends. And Sephiroth himself can throw out God tier attacks that just crush you in one fell swoop so you have to redo it all. They also completely toss out established lore on the way that just feels like a slap in the face when you waited 90+ hours to see how they handled the games most infamous scene. Fuck Square and fuck this remake.

Also, from time to time, I play casino games. I can't say which game exactly because there are so many of them, and each day I can try something new. A few days ago, I decided to try a new casino because I've tried a lot of games on one I've been playing for a while, and it took me some time. It's good that eventually, I came across this site https://online-casinocz.com/ where I read about some popular casinos, and after all, I chose Wonaco. I've tried just a few games there, but I really liked each. The slots are amazing.
I was playing Okami HD for almost the whole of November, and the game is amazing. I really liked it, although I heard some negative reviews from my friends.
A few days ago, I finally got a new STALKER, so I'm playing it. I'm also trying to finish The Last of Us 2 and Days Gone. I started them a while ago but lost interest in the middle of the games, but I still want to finish both.

This is me. Btw, I had no idea you can fast travel back to prior areas. I was seriously going to restart the game! Never get tired of pushing Nazis to their death.

Continued on with Indy and now I have solved the puzzle down in the crypt in the Vatican. Had a wierd framedrop in one of the cutscenes where it plummeted down to 20 ish and looked like a slideshow but it recovered afterwards when the gameplay started again. I hope it was a one off. Otherwise the game is fairly optimized. Can´t wait to play more tomorrow. It feels like the plot is thickening.

Played a bit of STALKER this morning. Everything causing bleed is pretty annoying.

I also spent some time with Brothership and I'm really not enjoying it. I actively hate the music. The electrical outlet designs of the creatures are mostly ugly and the writing is flat. The performance is kind of terrible too. I don't think I'll play much more.

I'm also playing 2025 GOTY Dodonpachi Saidaioujou. The only game that can take its' crown is Pathologic 3.

Still playing Fantasian and in second half the bosses becoming much tougher, you really need think about what you gonna do in each turn, this also why you can see your turn order.

Just finished Nier Automata. Those ending E feels hit hard. If any wants my playlist for the game I will post it below. It's no commentary, and I suck, so don't be expecting any godtier playing because I am only slightly better than a games journo.

DragoonKain

Neighbours from Hell
I cleared my backlog faster than expected. Partly due to beating games quicker than I thought and also partly because some games I expected to like, I didn't, so I bailed on them. Started Ys X and it's ok so far, I'm not sure I'm in the mood to play it now, I'll see after a few more hours. If not, I might play Balatro, but I'm not sure that's a main game feels like more of a game to play on the side. Might go back and play Star Wars Outlaws with the new updates, but I really don't have a strong desire unless it's drastically better.

Does The Witcher 3 has the Raytracing update from the PC? Probably not, right?

According to what I read from an older article about the upgrade when it released:

  • Higher resolution textures throughout the game
  • Improved character models
  • Improved enemy models
  • Improved environmental assets
  • More varied NPC (non-playable character) models, especially in cutscenes
  • 30fps 'Quality' mode which has ray tracing support at dynamic scaling 4K resolution
  • 60fps 'Performance' mode at dynamic scaling 4K resolution
  • Better draw distance
  • More foliage, denser grasses
  • Improved lighting effects and illumination
  • Additional and more varied weather conditions, like fog
  • Greater crowd density in places like Novigrad

I just dropped Soul Reaver Remasters. I’m going to let my memories stay. I’m not liking the gameplay in 2024. And that’s fine. I’m happy to have paid to support the series. Hopefully one day we get a continuation of the series.

I’m currently playing:

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle | Xbox
Stalker 2 | Xbox
Helldivers 2 | PS5
Silent Hill 2 | PS5

All in all, I feel like 2024 ended very strongly, thanks to some game pass entries. Before October, I was ready to say 2024 was very weak overall.

30fps with 4k resolution and raytracing? Not bad.

So I'm super early on and trying to find my preferences with the camera close or default, and learn the timing of combat, but I'm feeling The Witcher 3. I feel like I know why I always put this game down: paralysis of choice. There is so much to do. I have too many options and a lot of wanderlust.

I wanna be a tough guy Witcher and just immediately choose the most dickhead option of dialogue, and especially with pricks. However using Witcher Mind Tricks on them is sooo much fun.

Danganronpa V3 really left me conflicted. The first few chapters were solid. That time-limit segment, though, was awful.

The trials were great, full of crazy logic leaps and tense debates, but the ending? I'm still trying to process it. It felt like the game was trolling me.

I hated the 3rd game due to that ending. It just felt like a cheap way for the developers to air their greviences about having to make more Danganronpa games. I heard they hated working on those games. I just felt it was a bit too preachy and pretentious for me

After 30 long years and all the hype surrounding this series, for the first time I'm actually playing:
