Twitch you have a problem and should be ashamed of it

It would've been cool if, before going offline, she smiled and laughed and said, "Thanks for giving me all your money, losers! Hahahahahaha!"

Is it possible that Twitch pulled the plug on her for whatever reason?

She was bringing in viewers but it was kind of embarrassing as far as standards go.

Let streamers do their thing. If you can, report those who violate the tos. If you can't, just don't give em views. It will sort itself out.

you can chargeback like months later

it can be a problem for streamers who get donations a lot

Chargebacks are the worst. Happened to me a while back and I ended up losing a decent amount of money because of it. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the donations end up being chargebacks.

I dunno how to feel about this. Either she's a really good actress, or that was real crying.

I think it's fake. That's the idea.

this is like a internet myth. I know this exists and can be done but I never hear any mainstream streamers bemoaning the fact they have lost large XXXX amount due to chargebacks. Nor do I ever see reddit threads about other mainstream streamers whom I do not watch saying the same thing elsewhere or getting out in rumors that such and such was hit with chargebacks.

Just don't watch that crap if you don't like it.

It is highly likely that people are willingly pay someone to act out for entertainment. Twitch should not promote those garbage streams, but they shouldn't penalize someone for doing it.

The content curation is poor on Twitch channels: tournaments, pro players, random players, entertainers, trolls and grills all in the same pile arranged by the amount of viewers. Streamers should have verified accounts that represent their rank and current activity (In q, champ select, in-game, post-game, afk etc.). I guess my problem is that these entertainment and troll streams clog up the game channel to the point where it is impossible to find good (but not most popular) streams that focus on high quality gameplay + commentary.

There is a 3rd party website tracking Twitch streams, activity and rank at the same time. Sadly, it doesn't allow filtering by rank, so there is a lot of clutter in there aswell. CSGO displays ranks next to streams on Twitch, but no filtering either.

There's quite a handful of streams on twitch which are there purely to get donations, either they have a small game window in the corner or they do stupid stuff which sadly pulls in the viewers which in turn get's them donations, subs and ad money.

It's not going to go away unless twitch really buckle down on it but they won't while it feeds their pockets too.

Twitch isn't really a dedicated gaming stream websitesince they now feature music, live concerts and creative catagories.

The main issue is that they still occasionally punish channels for streaming non-gaming content, even ones that are generally gaming-focused (Destiny got a temp ban for streaming Youtube videos one night, IIRC.)

If Twitch wants to be a streaming platform that's solely about games, that's fine. If Twitch wants to be a general-purpose streaming platform, that's fine too. What's bullshit is when they not only turn a blind eye to streams that are only as gaming-related as they have to be to not get banned, but also have officially sponsored streams that have absolutely nothing to do with video games... and then turn around and occasionally ban users for streaming things that aren't video games.

It's not that big of a deal. Sure, there are some people who blatantly abuse it and show themselves for money. Most of the time, though, it's a bunch of guys upset a female who has boobs and wears a tank top is getting views.

A lot of the hate tends to come from subconscious gamergate feelings people have. I can't take people who criticize women on twitch 100% seriously. I just feel sad for the whiner.

Destiny is in a strange situation, he funnels his hardcore viewers to his other website and gets donations and subscription tiers thru his website that circumvent twitch and twitch allows is, I remember 4 months ago Destiny was talking about his bad relationship with twitch that he did not cultivate a friendship to allow him to do this with twitch and then he started a drive to get twitch subscribers that he needed in the neighborhood of 400 actual twitch subscribers and apparently he got it aside from the fact he basically ignores twitch chat for his own websites streaming chat. on his own website you can sub to destiny in

I'm completely shocked that Destiny isn't full out banned on twitch.

Couple weeks ago on his own destiny subreddit someone called out one of his own inner circle viewers to come back to destiny's stream but that guy DMCRedgrave lashed out at destiny for being a sellout and to remove those twitch alerts and popup messages destiny's response was but then I won't continue to make those 5 figure salary per year

one of the requirements are tits , sadly .

There are a couple of male streamers that pull it off just fine without tits. I'm not going to name though since I dislike giving them the publicity. Op just brought the infection out of the LoL thread into the gaming news side.

Streamer activates text-to-speech donations (donations that are ready automatically by a a program). Trolls then proceed to donate to troll the streamer, which in exchange decides to keep the donations on (to gain more money), while having horrible acting skills about the whole situation.

The point is: the streamer made herself the victim of the trolls to keep them donating while she made money from the whole situation.

Heres the archive.

I know right? I have no idea what the op is talking about.

Edit: Thanks Feltrol^. I think I understand now. So if I'm understanding it right, they have an automated text to speech the acknowledges donations and when people send in donations it reads whatever is sent in. So people troll them with stupid stuff and the girls pretend to be upset to get more money from the trolls. Is that about right? If that is true, twitch is straight up ridiculous for allowing this crap.

i try not to let the resentment get to me, but some of us women work really hard to have great substantive streams with lots of games, and it's always the worst that seem to make bank...

That's my only issue with it. I don't care about their content or the other donating, but I do hate that it sets a precedent.

This tricks the people standing up for her too.

I wasn't familiar with this (not familiar with Twitch really), I just clicked on the most popular game, then picked the thumbnail with cleavage and I see what you are talking about. It seems like an attractive girl crying about getting kicked out of her house and instead of finding somewhere to go or packing she is playing videogames while being read mean comments by a text to speech program with a soothing voice.

The internet is really weird. I don't understand Twitch and it's culture of donations and subscriptions. I hadn't paid much attention to it until the Street Fighter 5 Beta, and found it really weird that people were sort of big noting by giving the streamers money. Perhaps if I lived in a tipping country like america it would make more sense to me. Is this how live streaming porn sites work? Has game streaming evolved as an offshoot of that?

EDIT: typed this response when this thread was on page one, but didn't click submit, so I've missed the whole conversation

Don't really see a problem with any of it, so long as twitch isn't actively promoting them. They are acting/entertaining half the time and if they make money for it, kudos to them. Not a big deal so long as you don't see them advertised by twitch. There is room in this world for all sorts of entertainment.

I've only seen these whenever GAF brings them up. Twitch is fucking great when it comes to tournies, retro games, and speedrun streams. The only one that showed skin though was Calebhart and It's funny but they made him keep his shirt on.
