Her story 1 outfit with the underboob heart filled in with cloth is what i would have expected from Capcom themselves as her default, had they taken their 'we don't want to offend anyone' sentiments seriously. Instead they just black out an obviously bare chest and call it a day, take out an ass slap even though the core costume is pretty much kept unchanged.
If you want sexy time, don't half ass it and try to take it back later with non measures that just serve to make people angry and don't appease the demographic you were trying to satisfy with the changes either. Show some pride in sexualization! Or don't sexualize.

They would have made the player use the story mode or Evo Championship costumes, I'd wager. The latter is not revealing at all.

Ehh, that's fine. Some aspects of certain games may be too much for different audiences, so they'll require occasional changes. The important thing is the costume itself is still in the game.
Sexy DLC usually sells gangbusters regardless of the game, so I'm sure they'll make plenty more...and I'm looking forward to it.

They didn't actually take out the ass slap, just changed the camera angle a bit. She's still obviously slapping her ass during the super.

The terrible default costume was on Capcpom. Her story costume is better.
If they are fine with story outfit, I find it hard to believe the impression from the default would be that different.
But we live in a world where a slap in the ass determines jump from T to M, so sense goes out of the window

It was directed at the people who think that characters like R. Mika should be less attractive because it would give women an unrealistic standard of beauty or whatever. Well, that and video game characters being too sexy is supposed to be a bad thing in general.
Yeah, Capcom keeps trying to have their cheesecake and eat it too. They clearly want to sexualize their characters, but then they back down as soon as the mainstream pays any attention to them.
But yeah, at least no one was in top 8 trying to use Laura's "bonita" outfit. Holy fuck, the guys at ESPN would've had an aneurysm.

Companies can spend all this money to get evo finals on tv but not think twice about the content being shown, I honestly did wonder last night if mika was a little too sexy for such a thing on tv, it also doesn't help the whole argument of videogame esports because people watch it and think it's all sexy women.
