Metacritic is a dishonest system, a lot of reviews are missing from other sites.

In the meantime it's still 96/100 on opencritic with more scores : 99 vs 92 reviews.

It was the same thing with god of war from 95 to 94 while it's still 95 on opencritic.

They also add more and less weight to scores depending on the outfit, and make up scores for those without one.

Meta is cheese when it comes to this.

Listening to this some people might not like the moral choice Ellie makes, I don't know why but thats kind of makes me even more excited. One think about me is I sometimes like interesting characters who are "unlikable"over trying too hard to make the character to be "likable" like Elizabeth in Bioshock Infinite.

IGN have done video about how long it is . There average between their team was roughly 25 hours, one guy got the platinum in 60 hours.
Sounds very long. Mass Effects were 25 hours games but this is a semi stealth linear game (Which is good, I like linear games the most).

Any of You real people already played it? Is it just good?

Death Stranding was considered 35-40 hours. I finished it around the 27 hour mark. Kingdom Hearts 3 was about a 30 hour long game. I bet its much shorter than that and Red Dead Redemption 2.

Wow, it took me over 80 hours for Death Stranding.
I noticed two things that helped me along. 1. not spending a ton of time in Chapter 2. and 2. Playing online because most fast travel items in the world (bridges, vehicles, etc) were already built by whoever was playing along with me. Honestly, a lot of things that made my first playthrough that long were literally a chance of luck. Sliding down the mountain or jumping off the right cliff.

I really enjoy playing through the game. With the TLoU2 I will try to make the right choices. Its like taking the best route and making the right decisions. I may have just gotten lucky with how I played Death Stranding. I took hints like setup ziplines in Chapter 6, you won't regret it and it worked. Actual game time can be shortened by making the best choice.

Metacritic uses a weighed average, so it's not a surprise that 90 from Edge lowered it there. I have been using OpenCritic instead for ages.

i wish it was laid out better. meta makes it super easy, assuming you have an adblocker, to check out the lowest reviews. and thats all i really want to see as i like to know the weaknesses and not deal with fomo hype shit.

I didn’t use ziplines or vehicles for a long time. I felt like it took away from the journey of walking. Eventually I gave in late game. One of my favorite games I’ve ever played, strangely enough.

What? It's only 1 hour here. Why is it 6 hours there when it's 1 hour here? Are you sure it's 6 hours there because it's definitely only 1 hour here. I'll be playing this in 1 hour and I find it difficult to believe I'll be playing it 5 hours before you because you've got to wait 6 hours. Sorry to hear that, man ...

Looking forward to seeing the user reviews over the coming weeks.

Followed by "It's coz of all the nerd haters review bombing".

Oh this game is going to get review bombed to hell and back for sure.

I’m glad it reviewed so well and will stay at 96 MC. From the few hours I’ve spent with it you can tell it’s something truly special.

As expected with such terrible writing.

Just like the 10/10's from critics were also expected.

People need to open their eyes and realise critic reviews, game journalist reviews don't mean shit. The games industry is incestuous in this regard. Game critics have absolutely no credibility.

You'd think a more logical method would be to add the weighting based on what that outlets historical average is. For example a 9 from an outlet that usually gives an average of 5-6 should be more significant than an outlet that usually gives 9-10s

So on the day of release there are already 617 negative user reviews on Metacritics:

Game is getting review bombed as expected. This is why user scores are utterly worthless, just butthurt, angry people.

Disagree %100. It should be at least a 3. I'm going in, pre-load done. I expect amazing graphics with a story pulled out from a Clicker's asshole. Here goes.
