I personally don't care if the reviews come out a week after launch, since I already bought the game anyway, but I can see some journos being butthurt and take off some points just out of spite.

The Kotakus, Polygons and Waypoints of the world will just write hitpieces because muh transphobia, so I never would wait for their reviews.

That being said, the leaked footage so far is looking pretty good. Having a 60fps option on next gen consoles is really really good. Makes me think if we will have other enhancements to the image quality mode as well.

People are MAD that they didnt receive a code. I'ves een lots of tweets of reviewers getting mad over it. Reviewers will try their best to find flaws in the game to give it a lower score than it deserves.

Not only that ,but we will have the Kotakus and Polygons who will give it a low score due to allegations of transphobia, crunch and etc.

Comercially, it will be a success. Critically, I'm hoping for a 90+ despite this shitshow.

i don't think it will to be honest. at least not in significant way. it will depend on how the people receive the game. if the big outlets do have review codes. if the metacritic is above 90 and gamers love the game late reviews scoring the game low will get decimated by the fanbase. if reviewers see that everyone loves the game it'll add a lot of pressure. i think the metascore can get affected though. but at the end of the day what people think matters more.

Yeah. The reviews aren't going to tell me a lot really. I have noticed that my opinions have been vastly different than reviewers for a while now anyways, can't remember the last time a professional review decided my purchase of a game.

I really think you get the best opinions from forums like these anyways. The actual fresh takes from just random people experiencing the game, they feel more genuine. These fully fledged reviewers never feel that way to me.

that is not because they don't have faith in the game. that is because they are crunching to deliver the day 1 patch. performance is the reason you are not having reviews a week before the game comes out.

also when the witcher 3 came out i'm sure they had to deliver a couple of keys. with this being the most hyped game ever an CDPR one of the most acclaimed developers in the world and the state of the world today i'm sure they got millions of key requests and they couldn't handle them. so you are probably going to have just the biggest sites having reviews up before launch.

when i say they couldn't handle them i mean the biggest sites are probably playing a patched version of the game. probably in a debug console or something. also big sites tend to understand these things. and they probably don't want small sites or independent reviewers to play a shitty version of the game and complain about bugs every two paragraphs.

i mean we've heard the impressions from people playing the early copies delivered by best buy.

How early before release is the golden build sent out? How the hell do you "crunch" to drastically improve performance on a massive software project like this in 1-2 months?

Bear with it, people are just tetchy at present as everyone is just waiting for the game, so you've got some people who are hyped, Doom Patrol who think the game is going to be a disaster and others who are just impatiently waiting for some reviews.

Because others are excited about it, and Cyberpunk has a rare opportunity to make big waves in the games industry as a whole. This may be a game people talk about in 20 years. Despite me having no interest to play it, it has broader reaching implications than the playable content itself.

Personally, I'm going Corpo, because that just appeals (start at the top, fall from grace, then take back what is rightfully yours). I'm wanting to see how much as V you can kind of talk your way through situations versus going to the guns, but I dare say that will be required so I'll probably look at hacking as a backup to weaken enemies as I figure combat won't be my strong point. Female V also because having listened to the VA, I think she sounds better, and I'm also curious to see how that affects the relationship with Johnny Silverhand. What about you?

i'm doing nomad then street kid and then corpo.

not sure what to do. might do Male V for Nomad and then Female V for Street kid + corpo. the thing is that's if i'm doing new playthroughs. if NG+ happens then i'll probably just do them all female v. depends how CDPR go about it. if i can create a new V even in NG+ then i'll do a male V.

also for playstyle i think for nomad i will do non lethal playthrough. just keep myself to myself, try to get by, and not harm anyone. for streetkid then i will maybe be a bit of both. i'll kill if i need to but i'll try do good. my V will be a hardened character who takes no shit but still trys to improve the world. corpo will be totally corrupt and will kill for fun. nothing will hold them back from rising even further to the top.

that all said i'll just see how it goes when i play it.

Man The Witcher 3 was a beautiful game. It's a shame I could never really get in to it, just not my type of genre. It did show me how good CD Projekt Red are though at making games. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the updates Cyberpunk gets as time goes on, it will only get more visually impressive.

the gold build is probably from late september. you can drastically improve performance in 2 months yes. crunch or not.

I can respect that. From what I understand there's a lot of flexibility to play as you want rather than getting narrowed down. I guess I'm kind of thinking about the Role-Play aspects of the character where tech and talking fit the Corpo mould. I kind of See Corpo V being a mid-level fixer type in kind of Michael Clayton way. Sent out to deal with the rough and tumble that the real suits don't want to dirty their hands with.

i'm doing nomad then street kid and then corpo.

Nomad will likely be my second playthrough choice I think. I'm a real stickler for exploration and I think if I started out in the Badlands it might be a couple of weeks before I actually even start the game proper if I'm out there in the desert driving around. 'Took me 6 hours to get to the main opening credits?' 'Took me 6 weeks'
