Exactly!

These jokes can fuck right off. It's one of the best movies I've seen in my life and I absolutely don't care if it doesn't have anything to do with reality cuz it's a piece of entertainment first and foremost, just like video games.
There just seems to be a lack of attention to detail that seems to be missing, compared with their older game. Something as simple as the boba tea inclusion, would have never happened with their older games. Imagine if they included a pack of English tea with Assassins Creed Unity, because France is in Europe and England is in Europe so same shit.

PS5 physical version - 256 PLN (67$)
PS5 digital version - 349 PLN (91$!!)

Sony/Ubi are ripping us off nicely...

vs. Ubisoft connect + for one month - 75 PLN (~20$)

Regular PS5 version will most likely suck (Pro will be decent I bet), PC version can suck as well (ubisoft...) but their subscription allows quite cheap access to it. Not to mention I can play Avatar as well (and other games).

The game is coming to Xbox as well. Why is the digital version more expensive? Both versions are $70 for me in the US.

Kinda getting tired of these Japanese and Chinese 'history' RPG/ fighting games. Been so many over the last few years

Sekiro, Ghost of Tsushima, Black Myth WuKong, Rise of Ronin, Wo Long, Nioh, Dynasty Warrions.........now....Ass Creed Shadows and then Ghost of Yotei

Can't they come up with something new?
Nioh is 8 years old, Dynasty Warriors is a 28 year old series.

Digital being super expensive vs. physical is quite typical here.

I don't have Xbox but ubi sub works on it as well. It's the cheapest entry point right now.

Physical version + selling it after might the cheapest way to play it but I don't think PS5 version will be any good.

Ah...sucks about digital then. I'm getting the physical disc and doing a month of Ubisoft+ for PC so I can compare it across Pro, 4070 (mobile) and 9070 XT.

1 hour. Never before have so many jobs hung in the balance of the review score of such a clearly generic game.

Tears of Nintendo
- Lack of Japanese lip sync
I literally saw it in the video a few hours ago.

There was actually lots of drama about this at the time, it just came from the other side of the political spectrum (muh cultural appropriation etc).

As well as from people not knowing that "samurai" is plural and doesn't refer specifically to Tom Cruise - rather, it's about "the samurai" as an institution.
Today I learned something new.

There just seems to be a lack of attention to detail that seems to be missing, compared with their older game.
The game is not released yet, we need to play it first to make such claims.

Idk what you mean by all this in regards to Shadows....

They did a brand tie in with a boba tea brand. Boba is culturally a Taiwanese thing, not Japanese.
I did some diggin' ( - . - )

There was a lot going on between China, Japan and other countries back in the 16th century, before it and after. For one, Japan multiple times created replicas of China currency over the course of a few centuries. So... Do we really need to be upset that there's a Taiwanese tea brand in the game and not Japanese when it's a known fact that during multiple centuries Japan replicated China currency to make it her own under different names? Just a food for thought.

This is why I'm glad something like Gamefly exists. I've long since stopped caring about maintaining a big collection and even before, I would usually re-sell the game a few weeks after I'd have finished it.

Expecting GF to ship this out tomorrow (They usually ship new releases one day before retail) and get it by Friday or Saturday at the most).

If I hadn't gotten a really good cheap GF code, I was planning to get one month of Ubi+ to play this on Xbox anyway.

Nice to know people have already made up their minds to dismiss good reviews.

This is endemic to the very way that these journalists function. Thoughts like these don't suddenly spawn out of the aether, there's an instigating factor, or factors.

It might make the Airbagged parts of your brain light up as the endorphins flow, but the notion that somebody (or multiple somebodies) comes to the conclusion to not trust a source is only doing so because of your blood feud with Grummz as opposed to the overwhelming mountains of evidence pointing toward ideologically biased or flat out paid for reviews.

All the "return to forms," all the Nathan Grayson date nights, Kotaku weaponizing every facet of gaming culture, docking points on RE3 Remake because "does anybody NEED a game about a viral Outbreak in COVID America?" etc, etc, etc.

But no. People disregarding professional (used loosely) reviews is a direct result from the CHUD Empire.

I don't think anyone really got upset about it. It's kind of just reads as "Asia's all the same thing" from Ubi's standpoint, which is a bad look when your historically accurate Japanese Samurai game already stars a non-Japanese man.

Represent.

Represent(ative) of bad opinions
Mid 80's

looks better than tsushima did when it launched, if they are fair, it should score around the same or higher. only thing tsushima had going for it at the time was it was actually pretty original at the time. now these games are dime a dozen

Thats the reason ppl here in europe look way different at ps5/ps5pr0 price, when we literally got 50usd digital games on pc and same game 90usd digital on console suddenly 1200usd pc makes way more sense for non casual gamer who buys 10+ games yearly :)

Is that with RT enabled?
That from test
Assassin's Creed Shadows will be the most graphically advanced game in the series, as it is the first to feature fully non-disabled Ray Tracing, which works on all aspects of lighting, reflections, and shadows.
The updated Anvil Engine, which powers Assassin's Creed Shadows, has become one of the most modern technological solutions in the industry. The developers have completely rewritten the lighting system, abandoning old technologies and implementing full ray tracing.

I still haven’t completed origins. I drop in every couple of months and play a few missions in search of finishing the game. I have literally been playing it for years since it got the 60fps update. No real yearning to play Valhalla from what I’ve heard.

I don’t really like the look of this one. Sekiro and ghost of Tsushima scratched my feudal Japan itch recently.

I would love to be lectured again how "fine" 8GB cards are in 1080p in 2025:

Ultra high + Framegen (which is also VRAM heavy) seem like a really fucking dumb combination for a 8GB card which is normally low end.

Not defending stuff like a possible 5060ti with 8GB which should just powerful or more than a PS5 Pro and it'd be bottlenecked.

But for the majority of 8gb cards which are probably 3060-3070-4060 these specs are just not realistic, it's like putting everything maxed on a base console to run the game at 15ish FPS and put Fgen to 25 FPS.

This said we'll see once it releases how it runs on these cards, might be bad, but that image proves nothing lol

You expect 8GB to be fine for "Ultra High" settings in 2025?

This benchmark suggest that the game has some seriously weird performance though.
Not that surprising considering this has been the case since at least Valhalla but still worth waiting for better benchmarks on optimized drivers.

This is without frame gen, this is with frame gen:

Maybe with medium textures game will fit into 8GB.

GPU like 3070//4060ti/5060ti should be able to get you ultra high at 1080p, they are more powerful than PS5. This is not "unrealistic" expectation at all...

Haven't they already said that it's not historically accurate after all the shit they got? Or maybe I remember it wrong...

Yes, RTGI and well as RT reflections but there's no DLSS benchmarks there which is stupid.
