Normally I look forward to false prophets being burned at the stake, but in this case I'm leaning towards mercy too.

Especially considering his recent interactions with JohhnyLH, who sorely deserved his ban, Mr. Sco is at least reasonable. This guy's just wet behind the ears, and honestly he did sort of laugh off the secret sauce hint in the same post, and admitting that he wasn't an insider almist immediately afterward. I think he was just a hair's width this side of a definite ban.

That being said, Bish knows best. :)

Thinking about it devs could just target the Xbone and then with all the free extra power of the PS4 up the res, turn on MSAA, V Sync and 16xaf without having to do a thing.

Sweet as, I'd take that.

How will someone learn how to behave on GAF if it isn't written in a ToS?

Maybe we should ask someone like that one mythical guy that ascended to member status from junior and grill him in how he accomplished this monumental task.

Edit: I was just informed that the majority in this thread isn't banned. How the fuck did you guys do it?

well if EDGE's sources are to be believed devs can drop un-optimised code on PS4 and get 1080p/30fps, but Xbox One drops everything everywhere.
I think we'll see a lot of 1080p/60fps after the first year with PS4, and few on XOne too but as time goes on I reckon PS4 will maintain that 1080p/60fps or 30fps while XOne will start making sacrifices in resolution or framerate or both below what ever the PS4 is doing.
like for example, PS4 1080p/30fps vs XOne 900p/22-30fps
I'd personally be happy if PS4 never drops below 30fps, that'll be good.

I don't think I will tolerate framerate drops below 30 FPS this gen anymore. If that starts to become an increasing thing, I will finally build an HTPC.

Yeah, this is pretty much exactly how I expect it to play out, a few games that are 1080p vs 900p, higher AA levels, fewer torn frames.

I generally am very forgiving with FPS drops, but I would have to agree. I notice how drops can really kill my immersion now. Before it didn't really bother me. I guess the older I get the less forgiving I am :p

Exactly, barely able to hold 30. sub1080p the norm. Wanting that extra IQ at the expense of framerate trying to make everything as cinematic as possible, supersampled bullshots left, right and center.

Frankly we are near time when adding more stuff on screen will cost much more than selling game under 60 FPS ! PR.

We already see it as best earning game Call of Duty always selling itself as 60 FPS. Now EA will be selling BF4 under 60FPS banner. Driveclub may be 60 FPS , killzone multi 60 fps , figting games 60, rest of racing games also soon be 60.

FPS is like AA. When there is no AA in all games no one cares about one game. But if more games will have AA suddenly games that doesn't have AA will be instantly noticeable for people who didn't care for it earlier.

Same with 720p vs 1080p we saw at start of this gen. There were ton of people that didn't saw difference and suddenly 7 years later people do care about it even those who earlier didn't care.

FPS is one of those things. If TV hardware manufacturers can sell 6000$ TV under 120Hz banned i don't see why games creators can't sell it under 120FPS banned in few more years.

Agreed. I don't mind playing games at 30FPS as long as the framerate is completely smooth. Framedrops are the worst. Before adding any fancy graphical features, devs should focus on TWO things: IQ and framerate.

Nevertheless, there appears to be a greater focus on framerate this gen, especially with BF4 and Killzone targeting 60FPS for MP.

No need to be facetious. He joked about "secret sauce", how is someone who has newly registered supposed to know that pretending to be an insider is bannable if its not in the freaking ToS. After he was told not to do it by a regular member he stopped doing it but he was banned anyway.

GAF has always been post at your own risk. It isn't a democracy and the ToS isn't intended to cover every possible scenario that occurs. Common sense still applies when considering whether to cross a line or not.

Not sure what is possible. The ps4 is pretty damn small, so heat buildup would be an issue, but the ps4 uses less electricity than the ps3. Meh, I just want this gen to start. Hopefully Ill be able to get mine in late November.

Sony could have went with a 2+ TF design with guts inside the PS4 currently. However, Sony opted for a conservative design to mantain a size that is attractive and a heat signature that will not result in Yellow lights.

The chips was designed & had a set Clock \FLOPS before they designed the console this is pretty much what they was going for from the start 10 X PS3.
