Even PlayStation's Horizon did 30% on PS4 and 70% on PS5. And that was a crossgen game where the PS4 sku upgraded to the PS5 for free, meaning there's PS5 players out there that only bought the PS4 version for being cheaper.
Honestly I'm not sure when they planned these old gen versions that they expected so little sales from them

The guy who said it before is right, Margit wouldn't be a top 20 From fight in terms of difficulty. Hell, there are multiple Evergaol fights in just the first couple areas that are harder. In a few weeks we'll all be talking about how easy he is once people start hitting the really hard ones.

And if you can't straight up fight him you got Shackle's, Jellyfish and he's one of the easiest bosses to parry.

Overall it makes complete sense why Sony doesn't want to let the last gen versions go. Even if all said it accounts for 40% of the sales and the PS5 version accounts for 60% of sales, that's still a massive chunk of sales on the last gen.

So..something is bothering me alot and makes me not understand the review scores. I explored alot. Level 26. Still using the same weapons as i started.. how is this supposed to be super fun? And then i can sometimes find other weapons but never better then my upgraded base weapons...

By that logic you could also ask why they make games for PC or Xbox but the fact is that the hardware is so much alike now that it's no reason not to make games for the older consoles.
Even though games sell more on PS5 at launch we haven't had any success stories about any PS5 only game yet.
If you find something and don't complete it, use a marker, then assume anything visible on the map that doesn't have a marker is complete.

Hell, there are many bosses in Eldenring that are already more difficult than Margit. He is a mid tier boss at best that people are simply not prepared for because they just B-line it for him.

Difficulty walls all around for me after the game feigned being fairly easy at the start. Man I suck, I can't even beat the first "real" boss the game nudges you toward. Though I got a couple side ones in caves/the world.
So because I can't seem to beat shit for progress I've been wandering the world and encountered all sorts of cool stuff and side stuff and PVP focused stuff and areas that I shouldn't be in just yet and so on and so forth so still having fun for now but dunno where to focus/improve to progress.

Just keep exploring, no need to go straight on the critical path. If you're not sure what to level, boost your vigor and endurance. Get str/dex to fulfill weapon prerequisites for something you want to use after finding it.

Is it a waste to upgrade starting weapons or best to try and find an exotic and level that?
Weapons are generally all balanced, depending on your preferred playstyle. If you enjoy using it and it scales to your intended main stats then you're fine. There are regular weapons and special weapons, but they use different upgrade materials (smithing stones vs somber stones), so there's no point in holding out for something fancy. Use both. Basic weapons are viable for the entire game since they have a huge upgrade cap.

I took a dinner break at that boss due to rage buildup. I'm also running strength and using the Brick Hammer because it's ability gives a nice juicy R2 combo. It can be rather painful trying to get hits when bosses just don't stop attacking. Even more so when it's magic and you can't parry.

I’m getting my strength up to 40 in order to wield the Grafted Blade Greatsword. I’m going to see how that weapon fares with the Starscourge Heirloom equipped. Currently using a Lordsworn Greatsword +5, which did wonders for me in the 2nd main boss area. I got the Bastard Sword thinking it might scale better than the Lordsworn, but I really like the move set. I can’t wait to play more as time allows.

Finally after 10 hours the game finally clicked and feels amazing now. Was running around kinda lost in the 1st 10h with my starting gear and could not find any better weapon. The open world is not that great for starting the game, the game drops u in the middle of the map and tells u to go north, but once u find the 1st story boss u realize u are way to underpowered and need to explore somewhere else (I went south). But once you find the gear u like and level up a bit more, the world becomes much more enjoyable to explore.
The 1st 2 story bosses are down and im still level 30 with my starting armor, but having a great time exploring everething and challenging any enemy i find. Some still too OP to me.

No. Do it if it’s a decent weapon. I say the first straight sword you get is a solid weapon for the whole game if you have a pure str, a pure dex or a quality build.

This is what I like most about this game. Just heading off in a direction I've never been in and sniffing around. Forced myself to not use the map and just use the compass. I stumbled across Castle Morne this way. A bit crazy for a beginner in these types of games lol but i'm up for the challenge.
Going back to Castle Morne to search every nook and cranny of that place because I've found myself in Erdtree Catacombs and seriously fuck that place with that blob shit hanging off the ceilings. Makes me paranoid going into any room now, check the ceilings for any surprises lol.

This is retail physical sales remember. PC is almost 100% digital.
The game had 900k ingame on Steam alone on launch day, which is probably way more than PS5 had.

Not a good comparison point, the very tweet this topic is about states that Xbox and PC are a lot more digital focused so it's not surprising to see less boxed retail numbers for them.
Again, these are just boxed retail copies in the UK. Not even the full breadth of sales in UK.

I would say Japan is a completely unique landscape and differs to the west. If you were to look to Japan you could proclaim Xbox is dead, but that's not the case in the rest of the world. UK consumer trends and culture in general are global in a sense.

Sony were dumb for releasing horizon a week before elden ring, even from their own ecosystems perspective. From games probably sell the most on playstation, especially from the japanese market. Sony conditioned the general public to play From games on their platforms having exclusives souls games for it every gen.
They should have released it the day Sifu release, and sifu could have released a week before elden since im sure the drop off was severe for it anyway

I think a month or two's numbers from the US would be the biggest indicator since that is the single biggest market that we generally tend to get numbers from NPD every now and then.
UK is just one part of the greater EU market and we maybe get Spanish numbers once or twice a year at best.
