I find it interesting how fast he has lost his entire platform with the younger generation. I always felt something was inauthentic and weird about him. His family seemed crazy with his dad marrying his new wife's daughter going full Woody. My son is 18 and three years ago all his friends loved Elon. Now they think he is a full blown retard, extremly false person and laugh at him. It has been such a quick process.
When I grew up there were many global leaders to look up to 'he/she seems very competent/smart' etc. For my son's generation it is a complete clown show at the top. Not good for society. This erodes the trust we must have in basic principles and institutions for society to function.
Well, I think its our fault for putting these man children on the pedestal. We value this kind of brash, asshole-ish and boisterous behavior. I mean this guy is literally compared to Tesla. Tesla is probably turning in his grave.
hell, even our scientists nowadays are basically media personalities who go from podcast to podcast boosting their profiles via shorts and tiktoks to make a name for themselves. The real scientists are heads down working in a lab in a basement somewhere but I find it amazing that while Einstein was a rockstar during his time, he never actually sought publicity like so many of these astrophysicists do nowadays.
Steve Jobs and Bill Gates also ushered in this new era of people worshipping entrepreneurs instead of actual geniuses. Now we worship billionares simply because they are billionares. I think Stephen hawkins might be the last real scientist who became a celebrity for doing something extraordinary. Everyone else is just either rich or good at presenting.
But like you said, people are catching on and hopefully we will self correct in a few years. Sad thing is that we have put all our faith into politicians to lead us when politicians by definition are corrupt and slimy. We need true leaders who are not interested in becoming rich or holding office, but not many of those around nowadays.
