Link (on the Rebirth budget being $200M)?

KCD2 budget being $40-50M isn’t in dispute. It’s amazing what they were able to do with that money. Warhorse should be proud.

I just really doubt Rebirth cost anywhere near $200M given other Japanese games development costs.

And SE did reuse the engine and a lot of assets. But they also said Rebirth underperformed I think. So who knows. There was a lot of marketing and that ain’t cheap.

I'm not upset, i just think he handled that whole thing with the gay/banned controversy a few weeks back really poorly. Attacking potential buyers of your product who were just asking for confirmation on what was going on wasn't the right way to handle it. Sure, there were some people who were over the top about it, but he was generally very antagonistic and a total jackass to anyone who asked about it. He should've just been honest and said up front what was going on when it first was brought up. He was silent and shady about it because he put sales over being honest, IMO. People can do what they wish, i think it sucked though.

Some of those “just asking” literally spewed Nazi shit all over X. Could he have handled the situation better? Probably. But don’t expect civil discourse back at some of those asshats.

And the whole thing turned out to be bunch of nothing at the end.
