As much as I love Giant Bomb and the Bombcast, they're talking about Evo right now and boy, compared to Brad's absolute gushing over Dota 2 and TI4, he doesn't have much of a care or knowledge about Evo.

I'm just bitching but whatever

Also them thinking that Rose is an SF4 character

pls ;_;

Justin Marvelous Wong was saving playing point Storm against ChrisG for 6 months.....

I said WOW! He said that he wanted to pull it out so many times previously but he was thinking of the big picture.

What are you? Dude, it's 2014, if you can't drive & use your phone at the same time you are either super uncoordinated or fucking up.
A human being. You should be driving with full attention at any given time.

Are the rest of them gushing?

I remember listening to Jeff at E3 talk about how he stops playing fighting games when he sees what people accomplish at the highest level as it demotivates him.

No, none of them know shit about it really. Except for their new video editor, who they probably should have brought on for this episode to talk about Evo a bit more.

I'm just bitching since I know that they aren't really going to get into Evo/fighting games seriously at all when they talk about stuff (except for their new guy) but with how much eSports one of their main guys talks about, it would be nice if they brought on the guy who knows about fighting games to talk about the biggest fighting game event of the year in any serious way.

If I am being trolled then I am being trolled but I really hope that I am in fact being trolled and he doesn't actually think that surfing on the Internet on your phone while driving is a good idea.

Um, no. Get your fucking priorities straight, don't risk everyone else's safety for a fucking forum.

Part of my job requires me to opporate electronic while driving as it is.

Btw the crash thing was a joke, it was hyperbole like saying "Im dead"....I swear man you guys are too serious.

And yet you almost crashed.

Come on man.

Even if it was safe, why are you even reading neogaf on the phone while driving? Like who does that? lol

I don't know which state you're in but you would be getting a ticket in NJ.

I'm surprised VxG is still a thing after all of the criticism from the top players. No payouts and bad tournament organization. Weren't the entry numbers cutting to like 32~ or something for most games? How was it funded? o_o

I don't think they have to, I mean GB doesn't really follow the mold of other gaming sites, they do what they want and cover games they like or feel like will be entertaining. Don't really expect them to be "into it" any more than some of the other sites like Kotaku or Polygon who do features from time to time, especially on podcasts.

I do usually get perplexed by Jeff's reasoning on things related to fighting games but I've heard so much weird stuff I don't really get upset about it anymore.

Rolando has a GAF account so he can come on here and explain things or go on OBS like he use to and do it there. But I guess he doesn't care enough about the FGC anymore.

If people are so impatient that they can't wait to answer the latest phone calls/text messages, they need to invest in bluetooths, use their car's audio speakers or get those apps that let you speak your text messages instead of playing with people's lives. I personally haven't done any of the above so I don't know how effective of a supplement they are and I generally try to avoid answering calls or reading/replying to texts while driving.

People man.

Nah, I know they don't have to, but I would like it. I'm a huge fan of the site, but seeing Brad shrug it off so simply when even at least Jeff would give SOME effort other than the Tekken 7 announcement or the Smash characters getting announced.

Like I said, I'm just bitching, really.

It's in the bronx near 2 and 5 lines on 163rdst
Kind of out of the way. It'd probably take me 30-40 minutes by train. Also, I haven't gone cause I've been working/studying like a horse for the past month.

And this, I forget which train passes by there but its not too safe. I'd rather play it safe and stick to the locals in my alma mater or go to NLBC every now and then. I might start going in August but probably just for that month..
Travel distance/time seems to be the most common reason I hear from most people when I ask them why they don't attend the locals here in the city very often. Also, no one has a car apparently lol.

By the way, since you two brought up the crime thing I thought you guys might be interested in this:

http://maps.nyc.gov/crime/

Zip code for HoC is apparently 10459 if you're interested on checking.
Vanilla Sagat needs to be a pc mod.
What I posted is a real mod.

Just finished watching the Justin post-EVO interview on Live on Three:

*He had been saving Storm on point against ChrisG for 6 months. He had wanted to pull out that strat against ChrisG many times at majors but he was looking at the big picture which was EVO... and it paid off big time.

*The theory behind Storm on point was that Justin wanted to deny ChrisG having meter from making Wolverine block fireballs and Missiles. Storm's superior mobility and float allows him to evade fireballs and missiles to time out the Astral Vision. He said that once the battle came down to no AV Morrigan he was comfortable in that fight because he had Akuma Tatsu and Storm's mobility. He also said that he can punish AV activation with Storm's Element super which also cuts down her AV time by 30%... it's not about the damage it's about denying ChrisG the meter which is fundamental to his team (even Vergil uses the meter).

*Justin said that he also had a bunch of strats that he only used at EVO and never before. He pointed out his various punishes on the Vergil assist against ChrisG as Wolverine and Akuma which he wasn't doing before.

*He said that he got a lot of practice with people playing Morrigan + Doom to help prep him against ChrisG at EVO. He specifically mentioned NerdJosh and Helix who helped him prepare the match up with Storm on point. He said it's really hard to find good Morrigan + Doom to practice against because only ChrisG can play it at that level.

*Justin Wong mentions the decision he made to snap out Phoenix during the time out situation against him and FChamp. He said that he didn't know if that was going to work out in his favor but it did end up working out.

*Justin's favorite match in top 8 was Insayne and RayRay. He said it was very "fair and beautiful".

*Justin elaborated on his "I saved Marvel" statement. He said that he wanted to make a statement that you don't need top tiers to win (he referred to Zero, Morrigan, Doom, Vergil as characters people hate seeing and thus stunting the growth of the game) and referenced other players who do extremely well despite not using those top tier characters. He said that MVC3 is an extremely creative game and he loves watching all the various techs, teams and combos.

Ragingnight says their QC is terrible.
I dunno, I don't have anything from them.

its iffy. I mean They aren't the top dogs or anything. It will probably be better than 90% of anything made in the US though in terms of statues/figures.

what is QC? please speak to me in the most basic terms. I dont collect so i dont know what these abbreviations and jargon mean.

what is the specific complaint about this company/their products? is this sol statue a buy or no buy?

I was really glad Justin won. It really showed you don't need top tiers to win in this game. Whereas ChrisG was relying on the same old, tired concept of spamming soul fists and assist missiles.

glad to see justin say this. gets tiring seeing players and some commentators always telling people to pick top tier. most of the those people never have a shot of winning tournaments anyway.
