how did you do in ivgc btw?Won't be going to Evo this year, for the same price as Evo I can go to three EU majors.

Has someone already contacted Gandhi after that epic confrontation?! I want to know more about him, and Ryan Hart was also offering to train Gandhi to step up his game, I would love to see that

Got bodied by Ladnopoko and then narrowly lost to a Irish shoto player. Got knocked out of the UMvC3 tournament by the Dutch Iron Fist player who ultimately came second.
Annoyed with my performance in SF4 but I got the Irish champ (Ladnopoko) round 1, whatcha gonna do. UMvC3 is a side game for me so eh.
IVGC itself was great, I enjoyed my time down there a lot and saw some great matches. I'm back on the grind for Hypespotting 3 now.

The Potemkin's in this video seem to be doing pretty well.
Some nice usages of the YRC. There's one point where he does that charging move against a Sol who jumps and hits him from above but he just cancels the charge and grabs him right out of the air. There are also a few nice resets that I saw in the corner.
This is the best quality footage I've seen so far.
I have no idea why others don't have better quality captures. Maybe an unwillingness to upgrade or internet restrictions?

Micomsoft X Capture 1 is a phenomenal capture card and as far as I know only sold in Japan. The people taking footage must be cheap, lol.

Triforce has to talk to his boy Reggie.
Was great watching it on stream as well. The Jojo's ASB finals were quite cool, and it was nice seeing Valmaster's Chun-Li getting that far. He really improved a lot, even though you could tell the nerves got to him; he'll probably be even more of a threat once Ultra hits.

I couldn't get over seeing this guy with the scarf on the stream. Does he understand what 'fuck with me' means? So strange.
I've said it before, sorry for sounding like a broken record, but their capture tech is so bad.
I've reached out to a-cho, but never heard back. Not sure whom I should be reaching out to there either, but I desperately want better captures from them.

Random question, but does Waseda style extend to teams of more than two people? eg instead of A1 plays B1, A2 plays B2, winner of each plays each other; each team's winners get reseeded for the next round until one team has been completely eliminated?

Gootecks and Mike Ross definitely giggle and mess around too much on ESGN but that's part of what makes them great. But yeah, they should do that less often then they'd be perfect.
No, it's not any better. You have to get lucky and get a good connection, once you get to like 2 bars and below it'll either be playable or every character becomes Toki.
I don't think I ever played any 3 bar connections before +R, so I can't compare, but yeah, I don't really think it's much better.
For the record, almost all of my games in Accent Core were okayish to good, minus one or two. This included games against Canadians.
A lot of people were able to hit their FRCs, but not as consistently as in that 3 bar game (that person did not miss any).

Frankly, I hated SC4. Balance problems aside, the game just felt sluggish and had awful block stun. It played like the characters were wearing cement shoes and swinging wiffle bats at each other. I think it's fine as a competitive game, but I didn't find it enjoyable to play at all.
Strangely enough, I had more success in that game than I did in SC5, which I enjoy a lot more (but still have a lot of problems with).
This, so much. Actual footage is pretty horrible to watch, makes the animation kind of look bad/typical anime game even.
That Bedman/I-No footage was leagues beyond anything else I've seen recently in terms of how good it looks.

Man, I really need that paycheck to get +R -_- Hopefully by this Saturday I have it. Also, what scummy things has Triforce done? The only thing I recall when talking to a friend who knew Dieminion is that he got shafted for EVO pretty much by Triforce and had to start up a donation to make it to EVO.

Well, I don't think you should expect much on the animation front: they intentionally made the animations look like the 2D versions. You can very well see the gameplay animations are way less smooth than the cinematic ones.
It's pretty funny watching people digging into Japanese arcade footage and not liking the quality. A lot of anime people are used to asking for a player name and having somebody go, "Yeah, there's no way I can read that." Been like this awhile. Also remember a lot of videos being uploaded on youtube are rips of nico streams, which have terrible quality to begin with cause nico, and then look extra bad after ripping.

Go for it, just saying it's been like this forever and it's amusing to see people not used to it. I vaguely recall Xie talking about this on twitter when P4U2 came out, how arcades go about it. He speaks English and is super accessible if you haven't got a hold of him yet. Sure he could talk to somebody about it or give you some insight on why they keep the quality so low.
Yes indeed. I don't mean to be rude when I point stuff like this out, btw. It just amuses me to see the shift towards things the anime community has dealt with for years. I'd love for it to change, but Japan is Japan ;_;
