Yeah, that too. I remember an interview with him where he says as long as you can follow it and get the gist then it doesn't need to be perfect.

I liked them all, even 22 jump street was pretty fun and a step above your usual parody movie. Boyhood, Gone Girl and Inherent Vice are the ones that I really loved though.

Having read a few Thomas Pynchon books, I wasn't turned off by the meandering storyline in Inherent Vice because I knew what to expect. I thought it was an excellent film.
