Forza Motorsport 6 has "wet weather, 3D puddles and night races" + more

How much are the driving physics have changed or improved in dry conditions since Forza 5? I've recently started the GOTY edition and having a blast. I'm actually hesitant to play the demo and concerned it will ruin it for me.

Seems to be an improvement with minimal assists. You can more easily brake into a drift if taking a corner too fast with no steering assists. Feels harsher but in a good way.

That's great to see from the AI. Very believable, very humanlike. Very encouraging. Any idea what setting the AI was on?
The best part about the gif and your judgement that it is "very humanlike" is that you see Noobcraft (who I assume is a human) makes the exact same mistake and follows the AI through. Lol

Nice try, but it's no "corridor racer".

Laugh out loud uh, zebra. Is that what the z stands for?

I'm surprised that I didn't like it as much as I hoped...just cancelled the pre order. I can't get over how lifeless the racing is. For a game boasting on soul and character it seems most of that is put into the menu and presentation. Racing seems very muted and uninspired and I can't seem to stay engaged. Even in the rain I found my mind wandering and not focused on the experience. Very strange....and this is comming from someone playing with a dedicated racing rig in front of a 106 projector.

I play on a rig in front of a 100" projector screen, and can't fathom how you can't be engaged driving the corvette around Sebring in the rain.

Forza 6 vs Driveclub....lolz

What a funny ppl we have here...Tunnel arcade racing vs driving simulation...Really ?

I don't have DC (no PS4) but I hardly think this is accurate. I distinctly recall threads comparing the two. DC is a simulation racing game like GT and has real physics and 60fps just like Forza. Neither are open world and both have real tracks.

Just because DC is not GT doesn't mean it can't be compared to Forza.

Not to feed this talk, but DC is not what your described. It's an arcade racer with more "realistic" physics than most of it's genre. It's 30FPS, no real tracks.

Haven't tried the demo yet, what's the verdict? About to DL soon.

one thing that I miss is that blue tint of windshield in cockpit view from Forza 5. I really liked it, it made game look more realistic for me.

It was great with a controller but I finally got the demo to work with my TX wheel last night (I had to turn off the controller or it seem to always choose that instead) and oh wow it makes the game go from a 9 to a 10 in an instant, the indy race was so intense that my arms ached afterwards lol
And driving through the puddles in the rain made me grin like a kid. Soo cool. Turn10 really nailed it with those 3D puddles, makes driving in the rain feel completely different from other games.

Maybe he just means DC has really nice tunnels.

Just have time to finish all the demo.
The graphics are incredible. The handling feels better than F5. The Indycar race was like lther here said, intense.
And the rainplus 3d puddles are another level, it really change the way you race, In the race there was a moment where the ai force to pass through a puddle at high speed and make me lose my position.

Come on man...

How'd you know the game is preloaded?

Is everyones preloaded now?

Mines pre-loaded, downloaded the day before the demo. I think if the game no longer has the pre-ordered over the tile and if you open it, it says you have to wait longer are the indicators but im not 100% sure

Mine just says preordered, how can I get it to preload?

There are six time zones in North America...

GMT -3/4 is the common one we schedule around (currently -3). 1400 on Sundays is a good ballpark.

Sorry, I'm Danish. We're smaller than most states in the USA ;-)

So 1400, Sundays - GMT -3.

Makes it about 18.00 my time. Should be workable! I'll go sign up:)

Forza 6 Reviews next week.

Previous Metascores (yeah, I know, it's shit and meaningless, but it's the only quantifiable metric we have):

Forza Motorsport - 92
Forza Motorsport 2 - 90
Forza Motorsport 3 - 92
Forza Motorsport 4 - 91
Forza Motorsport 5 - 79
Forza Motorsport 6 - ?

Any guesses?

I reckon FM6 could be the best reviewed out of the bunch. I'll go with a 93. It all depends whether bonus points are awarded for the addition of precipitation and night, or points are deducted because neither is dynamic. This could divide reviewers, I guess. We might see quite a spread.

It'll review better than FM5. That's an absolute lock..! :p

What are the chances Forza gets an update to adjust steering sensitivity. I'm impressed at the improvements since Forza 5, especially the wet/rain stuff. But the steering on a control pad feels so dead. They already have like 10 sliders in the advanced controller settings, why not one for sensitivity?

Calling an 87/88

No way it performs like 5 did, that's for sure

DC is not a car physics sim nor does it try to be. Evolution Studios would happily tell you that it doesn't aim to be a sim. It's a very good arcade racer. It's at the "convincing" end of arcade, more PGR than Ridge Racer - but the handling is still about arcade fun, easy drifting, super powered brakes etc.

DC isn't about real tracks. They are fictional roads created in locations designed to resemble features of the countries in which they are set.

And it is 30fps. This is a fact.

But apart from that, you recalled really distinctly. :)

I thought Horizon 2 was a lock for a 90 metacritic. It only got 86.

I'm thinking 87. Main negative will be no dynamic weather/night. Expecting Polygon to give it a 6 or a 7 like they did with Horizon 2 again.

FH2 only got 86? It's the best arcade racing game, it takes the crown for me.

Did we ever get sales figures for FH2? I hope it did well.

In my opinion forza 6 has too many things it's forgot to add again like better fov/camera options, triple monitor + console support, non existent soundtrack, fan favourite tracks etc etc to rate as high as say 90 as a lot of reviewers know what has been missing or been in previous versions so I expect 80 to 85 max.

No final sales figures for FH2, although one of the leaderboards for the speed trap times has around 2.2-2.3m times on it - though that would include second hand/borrowing. I'm sure it did fine, the series has certainly made a name for itself!
