In classic rasterization, the RTX 5090 is, on average, 28% faster than the RTX 4090 and 72% faster than the RTX 4080 SUPER.

This is where the RTX 5090 shines, at least in games with DLSS 4 support: performance is more than doubled compared to the 4090 where there is Multi Frame Generation, allowing you to play Cyberpunk 2077 in 4K at an average of 325 FPS, Star Wars Outlaws at over 220 FPS with path tracing, or Alan Wake 2 at an average of 180 FPS, again with path tracing enabled.

in titles with the old frame generation , however, the gap between RTX 5090 and RTX 4090 is much closer to what was recorded in rasterization: on average we detected a + 25%.

That's because raster is old news

You do not buy these for raster

The NPU part which takes a lot of silicon will flex for the new rendering technologies.

It also took Ada a while to show the advantages of SER and so on, it took Cyberpunk 2077 overdrive to showcase the Ada architecture advantage.

Alan wake 2 with RTX Mega geometry, new upscaler, new ray reconstruction, should already be indicative of a portion of blackwell's advantage. When you add neural shaders and neural cache radiance path tracing, again it will surpass any previous RTX cards.

My 4090 is still going for $1900 used, so as long as I can snag the FE this will be a lateral upgrade for 25% more power and MFG. Seems like a great deal.
