Some 5080 images for you all.
You have small legs or that is a big card
In dull mans club style put a banana on top for reference as to size

Going to try and attempt to get a 5090 on launch, but I'm wondering does the 9800x3D work with the TUF GAMING X570-PRO (WI-FI) MOBO? I can't check atm but I would love to not have to build an entire pc again for this upgrade
No as it's AM4 socket according to the website
TUF GAMING X570-PRO (WI-FI)|Motherboards|ASUS United Kingdom
TUF Gaming Motherboards are designed with game-ready features and proven durability in mind. Engineered with military-grade components, upgraded power solutions and a comprehensive set of cooling options. TUF Gaming delivers rock-solid performance with unwavering stability under any strenuous load.www.asus.com
Please double check and don't take my word for it though
5090 will sell out before the listing even refreshes, but the lower end ones should remain available for 10's of minutes, hours, or days unless they've dramatically underproduced them. That's how the 4000s played out.Yea got the feeling those cards won't sell that fast. The founders edition will be sold out tho.
The FE length is just under 12" and should fit in my case. If this is what 3rd-party cards are going to look like, I'll have to go with FE.Some 5080 images for you all.

Ugh, shit. Thanks for looking that up though. I gotta look into another gaming focused cpu that'll work with it then (and not bottleneck a 5090). I'm just trying to future proof my rig a bit more so I don't have to worry for 5+ years
The third question is what everyone cares about most: the actual improvement or performance boost in gaming. We’ve tested this.
By reducing the memory speed of the 5090D to 14Gbps, the bandwidth also had to be adjusted to 896.1GB. The core frequency was adjusted to around 2600MHz.
For the 4090, reducing the memory speed to 19Gbps brought the bandwidth down to 912GB, with the core frequency fixed at 2610MHz.
When DLAA and ray tracing are turned off along with disabling the “super-performance mode,” game performance improved by approximately 20%, and frame rates increased by about 20%. When “super-performance mode,” DLAA, and ray tracing are all enabled, the performance improvement aligns closely with what was stated in the official claims.
As mentioned earlier, the frequency of the 5090D is around 2600MHz because, at this frequency, it avoids hitting the limitations of the older architecture.
To summarize, I’d like to give everyone a brief conclusion:
First, don’t expect too much from the 5090D in terms of overclocking. Based on current estimates, the BIOS might allow the 5090 to exceed 600W, but the chances are limited.
Secondly, this generation’s core hardware improvements in scale aren’t massive. Most of the gains stem from advancements in AI computing rather than raw performance upgrades.
Lastly, in terms of manufacturing tools, the differences between the 5090 and 4090 aren’t particularly significant. Even if video decoding is unlocked, the improvements won’t be very noticeable.

Fuck off peasant, you know nothing about me. Besides im not getting one.
Feel like ive just been assaulted by a tramp.

Is there an objective reason to avoid FE? It seemed the 40 series FE cards were well made. The FE length is just under 12" and should fit in my case. If this is what 3rd-party cards are going to look like, I'll have to go with FE.

But usually they don’t clock as highFE is definitely the one to go for. They're cheaper, they're smaller, they cool just as well, and they have a higher resell value down the line.
Does it matter in this day and age? If anything, you want to power limit this card so it doesn’t reach 575W.But usually they don’t clock as high

I’m a simple man, so small, plug and play and effective cooling is all I care for. Sounds like FE is for me. My 7900xt is a reference design and love it.Looking at the partner cards for the 5090 they are chunky boys. 3 slot or more
- If you want to water cool it like me, then no company is currently looking at waterblocks for the FE due to the split design.
- FE normally have a single bios available. Partner cards often give dual options. ( Not a massive bonus really )

Anyone repaste a FE 40 series? Easy to do? I got PTM7950 lying around.
Yeah, repasting 5090 FE wouldn’t be a wise thing to do. See GN video as he deep dives into FE design with Nvidia cooling engineer.40 series is easy to repaste. Fan connectors can be a bit weak on some cards so be careful.
5090 is liquid metal. Unknown if the others in the range are too.
Good to hear. I’m not looking at the 5090- 5080 likely if I make the leap.40 series is easy to repaste. Fan connectors can be a bit weak on some cards so be careful.

That increase is almost linear, with the bump in shaders, right? Or am I missing something?
