Nintendo? That's a prediction I'll have to say I'm not particularly inclined to believe.

Of any of them, I'd say Nintendo would take their IPs to the grave and go out of business rather than put them anywhere else.
They precisely put them on another platform about a decade ago to not go out of business.

Exclusives going extinct is wishful thinking. Only once an install base vanishes does a game maker have to search for greener pastures.

But the sentiment that platforms will continue their evolution into software-centric ecosystems is sensible.

Could be, but I wonder if any of executives are thinking about the long run. I don't speak for everyone, but personally if Sony is releasing games day and date on pc, I would rather game on pc( due to mods) even though I dislike some of the headaches of pc gaming.

Plus it doesn't help that I always do have a pc because some games are just better to play on it( colony builders, rts, etc), so if I already have a device that can play the games( at better performance and mods) why would I buy a theoretical ps6?

I don't think I am the only one in this situation, but if this develop as predicted by Jason, I feel that ps6 will struggle to sell ( relatively speaking, compared to other ps home consoles ). Ps, imo, will end up going the same path as Xbox ( talking about the decline series consoles are seeing this year).

While I am in the same boat with you (I have a PS5, but it doesn't get used much), I think it's going to take a lot longer for the PlayStation crowd to migrate to PC only than it did for Xbox. Microsoft committed brand suicide at E3 2013 and a lot of people were jumping ship from the Xbox brand. Sony hasn't had a moment like that. Not to mention people who have established a digital library on PlayStation are unlikely to abandon that for PC.

Can someone ask this motherfucker what the hell happened with his prediction (which he gave multiple times throughout the years!) that Final Fantasy Tactics Remaster/Remake is a thing?

He got 2 of them right (GaaS and unions)
GaaS continue being the most imporant game type of the industry, as usual most top performers and top releases of the year are GaaS. In the case of Sony, despite the Concord failure they had huge successes with Helldivers 2 and Destiny The Final Shape (both top 10 top grossing games of the year in Steam, and Helldivers 2 being their fastest selling game ever).

Sure, some GaaS succeeded and more failed. Same happened with non-GaaS in a way bigger scale. Just like every single year, there are way more non-GaaS that fail. But many people ignore it because never saw their sales or in most case didn't evern heard about them at all.

Unions continue covering a tiny portion of the US gaming workforce and continue not having a meaningful power in the industry.

This guy is a fucking joke. Why anyone takes what he says seriously is beyond me. Anyway, Sony not making exclusives anymore? Like they did last year with their PC releases??? They obviously won't release exclusive on the Xbox console or Switch 2 but PC for sure.

Again, why anyone takes what this guy says is a disgrace. He's a fucking moron.

Not sure what he means by ai having its Icarus moment? Flying too close to the sun and getting burnt?

Like what it becomes too powerful so it gets regulated to death or banned? Even if that does happen, there’s so many open source things, and halting progress can only (maybe) be done on a per country level, which only incentivises other countries to not stop. It’s not like there’s global unity at the moment.

Progress in 2025 will only be faster (possibly significantly so) than 2024

I really can't see Sony in the same boat as Microsoft.

They keep making their games exclusive for some time, even second party games like Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin. Their numbers are good. Their plataform has health numbers, why would they start launching games day one on PC or, especially, on others platforms?

Seems like these guys just want to make people think that everybody is in the Xbox situation.

I'm retarded?
I have a feeling Silksong has gone on a permanent hiatus. Absolutely 0 info at any of the major shows at the end of this previous year considering we had something in previous ones is worrying. If they were close to being done with it, they would've no doubt shown something. I think it's dead.

Half-Life 3 is as likely as me becoming rich.

The rest are just just obvious guesses.
