The point is theres no reason to assume Kojima isn’t going to continue a working relationship with sony at this point. They helped him build his studio from the ground up, his team is now acclimated to using Decima, he has a good working relationship with sonys external studios, and he has other relationships outside of it.

No one is saying he won’t do smaller projects anywhere else but if you’re a betting person then the odds are his next big game is most likely another sony game.

Also, when sony does these big investments its for multiple games, like they did with quantic dream.

While possible.. where else is there a MADO system KJP is going to be connecting to? The first tweet says "on the KJP side" and shows them testing their units, while mentioning the "West Coast".. where then a week later they show/imply that he meant SSM's mocap studio and says they are 'always connected for on-site work' showing.. well, on-site work happening at SSM mocap studio.

He could be being a salesman but the tweet implies they are already using it for work, and that work is happening at SSM.

It could be a test.. perhaps KJP "LA" is planning on installing a MADO system and Sony is letting KJP test by connecting to SSM's MADO... while SSM is actually working on some mo-cap.. as far as I understand that isn't even really open yet, there is no physical location just a registered business and some "plans."

I dunno.. it's possible though.

As far as I can tell this system is only in a "pilot" phase and isn't actually for sale...

So if Sony is using KJP as a "pilot" program..

They'd need a real reason for that, to show it off as a "use case" in their marketing material.

Considering KJP LA barely exists yet..(may not actually exist at all, all of the November news was about "plans") I think it's far more likely Sony is doing a pilot w/ KJP to connect to SSM's mocap studio, and not have KJP LA and KJP JP do... what? White boarding? I'm not exactly sure what work a tiny "movie studio" that is likely no more than an office where KJP LA employees will work out of and then rent out other people's actual "film studio" spaces needs an advanced telecom system that isn't even out yet. It's not like KJP LA is going to have it's own massive facilities like an established big studio has.

The 'reverse trike' vehicle really changed the game for me up until the point where Sam got exoskeleton gear, which kind of semented this game as a real Kojima game. Easily 8/9 out of 10 game for me.

I was in the same place as you when I first played it on PS4. Found it sooo boring up until Lake Knot City.

Pretty sure I got far enough to get the reverse trike. It could go over all kinds of bumpy terrain.

Didn't change anything for me. It was still largely a boring traversal game.

Maybe he will announce a game that is to be released 6 months later. People were pretty vocal about the wait for Death Stranding, so I wouldn't be surprised if he took that into account and has been deep at work on this new game since the pandemic started. He probably could have released a trailer for it years ago, if he wanted to.

Assuming that he's using Sony's mocap studio. I don't think it's crazy to also make the assumption that he's working on something that's going to release on a playstation. Doesn't mean he isn't working on other projects or that the game is exclusive to Sony though.

With that said it's probably safe to also assume that he might be using Decima again.

Im not trying to diminish the importance of money, but there are other important factors that weigh in with decision making as well. To think otherwise is naive, why do you think broke guys still get pretty girls? Athletes take less money to play for championship teams? People take different employment opportunities for nights and weekends off or to be able to drive to and from work a closer distance to home? Business deals or no different. Sure money is an important factor but thats the easy part. There are other important intangibles that weigh in, so just because someone may offer more doesnt guarantee a partnership by any means its silly to think otherwise.

Being on gamepass is preferably for me because I have a few years of gamepass stacked, but I brought my PS5 for exclusives, so if its good I will still get it.
