Now imagine they had rediverted all that GAAS money in to developing games for VR.
Because that's what it will require for VR to go to the next level in terms of adoption, a company to take risks and really invest in games for the platform.
Yet you somehow aren't? Your post right after this one was thisOhh look OP with another negative sony post and the 5th one he's posted in like 2 days. Checking his comment history you can see he's a clear troll with an agenda.

They knew what they were doing. I dont think they were ever serious. They werent even that serious with VR1. Sony just assumed the console market would be amped up on VR as it was catching fire with Quest etc... and could get by on typical PC VR games like Beat Sabers again. It was always a gimmick. It never got proper 1st party support.
Good. I liked the guy working at Sony.Is Shu out for blood?
Without being completely direct, kind of reads that he is trying to expose wounds. Sony's multiple wounds.
First by pointing out the shitty first party approach Sony's been doing, now this.

Out of curiosity, how was Alien: Rogue Incursion infected by DEI?The only game I wanted to buy a psvr 2 for (the Alien one) was infected by DEI.
Otherwise I’d be playing it right now and Sony and the alien game publisher would have my nice cash.
Doesn’t matter how good the tech is. People just don’t care about VR.
No idea why he hasn't been banned yet. As moose pointed out, he's spamming threads based off the same interview.

Nintendo Switch Online price increase. Is it justified?
Currently you can buy 1 year of NSO for $20. It seems Nintendo plans to adopt Sony's pricing scheme and maybe remove the cheaper tier? (even if they don't remove it, the price gulf between 20 and 70 is too high, so expect them to increase that too) How is this justified? Adding party chat...www.neogaf.com
Spare us your hypocrisy if you want us to take your victim complex seriously.
Do Switch gamers have to do that thing where if you want to play online with people you got to party up on a phone or something? There was something weird about Switch online gaming which is totally different than the way PC, Xbox and PS gamers do online.Ya nintendos online service is dogcrap or are you going to defend it? I'm a blunt individual and that's how i live my life so sorry for speaking the truth when it comes to nintendo online.

So that gives you an excuse to post this kind of console warrior garbage?I'm a blunt individual
I looked into it at the time and found it had been compromised so I removed the PSVR2 from my basket.Out of curiosity, how was Alien: Rogue Incursion infected by DEI?
SPICY, but neogaf is not the best place for posting this kind of stuff.I like both genders but i am not considered myself a hardcore fan!
I think you are wrong. VR fails due to the lack of AAA software, no 1st party support whatsoever and price.Doesn’t matter how good the tech is. People just don’t care about VR.
It often happens that multiple threads are created based on a single event (Nintendo earnings, Game Awards come to mind). OP is an MVP for informing us about the interview that I would have otherwise never watched. No idea why he hasn't been banned yet. Should've made a new handheld instead. Suits them right being trend chasing bitches.

There are tons and tons of PSVR2 content. New games announced and released weekly. Fantastic experiences as well.Sony keep making these expensive pehiprehals and the PlayStation faithful keep buying, even when there's no content to support it.
Time to learn one's lesson, me thinks.
It wasn't trendy when they were facing the decision to either go VR or continue support handhelds with their smaller studios. Sony chose the safe, trendy option at the time and paid a severe price for it. And have now left a massive market pretty much all to Nintendo.Wouldn't making a handheld just be trend chasing also?
Personally, I'd rather have them stick to the indies and third parties making the games for it, and get their traditional first parties back in order of the PS3/4 days.
Read my edit. But that doesn't really instill a lot of confidence to someone who doesn't own a PSVR device yet, no?
You'd think the company making and selling the peripheral would have the same, if not better, support for it than most.
I don't think so, at least for developing new content or IPs.But that doesn't really instill a lot of confidence to someone who doesn't own a PSVR device yet, no?

I haven't tried Quest 3, but PSVR 2 is much much better than Quest 2...even as a PCVR headset. So I can't imagine Quest 3 is that much better than it.Quest 3 >>>>>>>>> psvr2. Sony never fully supported it.
Some of the best games of this generation are only on PSVR 2.It was pretty much dead after launch.
Going by their past historyIdk why anyone would trust Sony to support a secondary platform at this point.

Quest 3 >>>>>>>>> psvr2.
Not if their games are all AAA productions.
That’s why VR is basically an indie platform, you can’t justify big $$$ on it
It’s probably better that way, too
Not sure what the first line has to do with it.
They (Sony) recently shut down a studio that was dedicated to VR games less than a year ago.
Not being able to justify big $$$ I get. The barrier to entry is too high.
I get what you mean about porting games for use with standard controllers but:I don't think so, at least for developing new content or IPs.
Imo, (VR in general) needs to relax on the VRAF stuff and make more VR ports of older games that can still be playable with a controller, like BF3/4, Halo MCC, Killzone 2, Ico, SOTC, TLG and shit like that.
Basically fund easy ports, like they do with remasters and have controller support to make them more accessible.
I would replay all of those immediately in they got VR ports.
Skyrim for example, I've played a million times, but the VR version is extremely transformative and feels like you're playing it again for the first time.

Don't feel bad, because I know people (fanatic RPG gamers) who bought PS4 just for Bloodborne and nothing else.Astrobot Rescue Mission is the best gaming experience I had last gen and the second-best PS game, only below Bloodborne.
Someone could argue the price is high but living a Super Mario 64 moment again was worth it.
