I've been thinking this. Someone needs to remind me why are we crapping on Riku's list if other people are claiming there is in fact a SSFV coming along. Shouldnt that give his Marvel side some merit? Or am i missing something here?

Ryce/SaikyoBro already confirmed Ms Marvel and Leon aren't in the game and the only interesting thing he got right was Jedah. No reason to give Riku any more credit than that redditor going on about Apollo Justice and X men in DLC pack 1

Did I miss a part where somebody else starting saying there's a SSFV? One look at Riku's gamefaqs leak is evidence to suggest he's fake

My fault.I only poked my head in the SSFV thread, I didn't check the link or do any further digging. I assumed it was someone different confirming SSFV was a happening, not just the same old info we heard before from the same person

Listen. I heard from a reliable source that the Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite roster would be 28 characters.

I also heard that Street Fighter V is going to be supported for three decades and is going to have over a dozen versions and relaunches.

Just because someone heard something that might end up being true and latched onto it, doesn't mean everything they say is suddenly reputable. See how this works?

I still want my favorite back but the best I and others can do for now is hope for DLC with him. iirc he was voted (for 3 and again for Infinite) pretty high up for the Marvel side of requested chars along with Venom. I have noticed though that less are talking abiut his inclusion. Might not help that others would (rightfully) take priority from the X-Men over him. I'll still hope even if it doesn't happen.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. With literally zero X-men in, people are going to be clamoring for Wolverine and Magneto first. But as time goes on and more DLC packs release, the chances of Gambit getting in just go up. Same with characters I want, like Gene and Asura.

I, personally, would probably never play Gambit. But I would like him to be in, because I think he's a good character design and would provide a unique gameplay style with his staff. And unique gameplay seems to be one of the big criteria they're choosing the roster by.

Yeah, I know. More $$$$. But I feel like including Venom from the jump would've at least lessened the amount of negativity over the rest of the roster.

I don't think any one character would have made that big of a difference to this roster tbh, especially not a returning vet from MvC2, even if he was a highly requested one. It doesn't fix any of the roster imbalance as far as women or minorities go and Venom wouldn't even be a "new" character to the series

People were talking a good bit about him in the early months of this game, but now there's not really any point.

Venom isn't in the MCU, from the leak all those characters (even Nova since a Nova Corps is present) are associated with the Marvel movies.

Maybe Marvel only wanted MCU movie characters in the default roster? Still doesn't excuse the lack of viable choices like: Vision, Panther, Wasp, Loki, Ronan, Sif, SW, QS, War Machine, Falcon, Star Lord, Whiplash, Shocker, Yellowjacket, Mandarin, Zola, Zemo, ...red skull, widow, vulture, Nebula, and so on when we have so little. Even crazy choices would be better than nothing.

My guess is that hope is being lost as this game won't even have X-Men in the base roster, so X-Men fans are hoping for the big 3 (Wolvy, Storm, Mags) to at least be in DLC before getting their hopes up for additional X-Men.

I agree, but people seemed to overlook that because it was assumed the roster would still be strong out the gate. But yeah, Capcom just seems unable to make good choices at times. Put out a mediocre roster and hope the idea of DLC will still convince people to buy 2 million copies. Yeah, no.

If I had to guess, they are only going to be including characters relevant to the game's story mode in the intial launch roster before expanding out to the extra fighters. If we were to go off of this, you could argue that while Venom or Black Panther might not contribute much to the said story mode (not completely counting them out mind you), the real question is why Sigma got the short end of the stick and got pushed to DLC other than to be a cheap tactic to get people to get the season pass.

From what it seems like, you'll fight Ultron rather early in the game's story mode before he meets up with Sigma somehow and they fuse together. With that alone, you'd think that Sigma would also be playable since it would seem like you'd fight him too as you would with Ultron.

That said, I can't wait for next week. Chances are that during the Sony conference (since it only makes sense that the game was first shown there), we're likely to get a good idea of what other characters we'll see added into the mix, and to see if the "Leak List" really does hold up or not. If we see returning characters or the obvious additions, I'm still going to be skeptic, but if we see someone completely random on the leak list confirmed, then we'll go from there.

Gwenpool would kinda negate the need for Deadpool as DLC later, & there isn't much that Spider-Gwen can do that Peter can't (at least Miles has a few extra powers).

People who don't follow comics literally have no is a who Gwen pool and Spider Gwen are. Especially Gwenpool. People would just be like "Who the hell are these two knock offs?" When it comes to female Marvel characters there are much MUCH better alternatives like Squirrel Girl or even Black friggin Widow. Putting those 2 in over Peter and Wade would be like instead of Yoda and Vader, Soul Caliber IV had Plo Koon and Ben Skywalker. EU fans would be ecstatic that their favorite obscure characters are getting recognized but everyone else would be confused and avoid the game

X-23 also has more to differentiate herself from Wolverine than Spider-Gwen has to differentiate herself from Peter.

And if we're getting a Spider-woman, it should be Jessica (or MAAAAYBE Julia.)

Like Neoxon said, but there are many female characters they could use from Marvel Library. I'm pretty sure you know like over 30 marvel female characters by now if you follow the thread long enough.

Gwenpool may be from an AU but she is in the Marvel Universe. 616 or Classic or Prime or whatever you want to call it. But she would never get in over Wade.

It's Spider-Gwen who is an AU spinoff who has her own world (but interacts with the main universe on a somewhat consistent basis).

X-23 wasn't created with the sole purpose of avoiding paying FOX merchandise money. Some of the general public had heard of X-23 pre UMVC3 (and especially now after Logan) but Gwenpool is all well known as Lobot

idk what the reactions are towards this game but idk if in a minority or not, but this looks half-assed as fuck man. i love the MvC series to death, hell its my favorite fighting game and Marvel 3 pushed me into taking the genre a bit more seriously. between the lack of assists, the rough graphics, there already being a character pack announced before the game has even dropped and the reports of making the game more "accessible", its a bit disheartening all things considered.

sorry if im just regurgitating points already made in the thread, i havent browsed it since it first was made but man capcom has been a disappointment in the fighting game realm. glad strider is in though, thats obviously my dude but the lack of X-Men characters (i knows its a marvel thing) just goes against the series traditions imo.

just my two cents marvel-gaf,
will probably buy day 1 though smh

Deadass gonna try to make it out to tournaments just for the fun of it. I was broke, worked an odd schedule, no license, and no car when marvel 3 came out so couldn't go out.

All that has changed sooooo I'm tryna be litty.

She was there just to fill a role, not much of a character, a shame...

Psylocke's weapons have grown these last few years, it would be nice to see some of them included in her moveset. She was added to CoC, maybe there's some hope for Infinite.
