on your console of choice. better than waiting every single time.

I feel just the opposite, particularly for mostly-singleplayer experiences. Waiting for the first major round of patching to get rid of show-stopper bugs and fix seemingly obvious UI stuff that somehow made it to release is better every single time. Well, I can name a lot more singleplayer games that got better after patches than got worse. :)

Considering how they're struggling to hit this release date I'm fairly confident this game will not only be made better by patches but will probably require some.

I don't mind so much because I'm playing through the PS4 version first and that has preload but it's still a fuck up on konami's part, no reason something shouldn't have at least a week preload on current gen and pc considering the safety mechanisms in place.

Come on this is stupid, i was so happy that the release date had been pushed to 1th September like Console version but now this, i've got a slow internet connection when i live, downloading 25gb or even more will take a whole day...i hope they'll change plan, or at least that it'll be available at midnight

Even just opening a preload 12 hours before would be nice, at least then folks like us MIGHT have a chance at playing day one...

launches at midnight in new zealand for seemingly all territories. it's likely a lot of us will be downloading (and playing it) on the 31st.

This is fucking bullshit. My internet isn't as bad as some people in this thread but it usually takes me six hours to download a 20GB game, and that's when Steam's servers aren't shot to shit. I was honestly already disappointed that North America wasn't getting a physical PC version.

Thought it was only getting a physical release over in UK and Europe?

I may have to import it then, even if that means I'll probably be paying like an extra $10. Do UK Steam codes work for US accounts?

Don't really care. Every preload lately has taken longer to unpack than the time it would have took download the whole game from scratch.

Sucks for people with slow connections though

Wait the UK PC version is £50?! Jesus.

Here's hoping the actual download size is less than what the advertised HDD requirement (it often is for PC games).

That's really, really silly and honestly stupid.

There's absolutely no reason at all to not let PC pre-load it, and letting consoles do.

Uhh... Those talking about it being cracked or datamined, let's pretend like physical copies of console games aren't put up on shelves and mistakenly shipped out early for every single release.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
Looks like I'm not playing launch day then.

Will only take about 30 minutes to download hopefully, I vowed never to pre load after GTA V took close to 2 hours to unpack

Makes no difference to me, I'll just hit download when I leave in the morning for work.
This. I'm not worried. Even if it runs well below its normal speed, it'll still be done long before I'm home that day.

I guess the PC team isn't as pumped about the release date bump as Konami HQ is.. I imagine the pre-load delay is so they can continue tweaking things right up to the 11th hour.

Fuuuuuck. This is going to take me days to download. My internet speed is horrendous.
Same here, this is terrible news for me. Granted, I'm not that crazy about videogames these days and I'll just start the download and go on with my life mostly forgetting about it until a couple of days later, but still, it wouldve been nice to joing the launch party and play this at the same time as everyone else.

Slightly off-topic: If I get an boxed PC-Version before the game launches on steam (which might be possible), will I be able to play it?

So if you were to somehow pre-order import a physical PC copy, how much extra shipping time would that take?

Otherwise, I guess there are basically no pre-order deals right? I haven't seen any. Might as well just get it on Steam, but now there's really no point to pre-ordering at all since I already have GZ.
