It pre-loaded the MP if you had MW2/3 even if you didn't buy it, and it made you re-download MW3 (and maybe 2, not sure, I uninstalled that a while ago) and that was a big file size.

On Xbox, I only needed to download the 11GB essential files + 50GB Black Ops 6 package. They don't force you to download the Warzone files like last year, so if you're coming from a clean install and only want Blops 6 campaign, it's less than ~70GB.
I've heard the Steam installer isn't as efficient and you need to manually go and choose not to download the 'DLC' (previous campaigns) when choosing install, but on Xbox it asked me before the download started what things I wanted to install from the total suite.

Yeah but most games don’t come out every single year and do tend to have a bit more that evolves

That remains to be seen whether it is favorable long term. Again that’s the risk. Investment decisions play out over a long period of time. Just because they have the means to own something does not mean that ten years from now that was a good decision, in fact many (most?) corporate mergers are not.

To be fair this COD is vastly different from MW3 on the MP side of things anyhow and is a nice evolution
But some of the new maps simply aren't designed well

I am sure BO6 is very successful as it’s the best COD since BOCW in 2020 and the last few have just been miserable. People want to play good COD games not the garbage Activision has been feeding them.

I think it has a lot to do with the gap some players have had between CODs, given it is on Game Pass now, we've had people try COD again who otherwise wouldn't have, so for them, it is "fresh". I jumped back on COD with Vanguard, and continued with MW2, and MW3 (so anytime I see people saying this, that it is back to form or something like that, I scratch my head, like what I am not seeing here?) Outside of setting, and some minor tweaks in movement with Black Ops 6, feel wise, gameplay wise, I would grade them equally. MW3 messed up with the campaign so Black Ops has it beat there, but I enjoyed MW2/3 just as much personally, when it comes to multiplayer.
Side note, I play through the campaign missions for a bit but to this day, I have never completed any story modes of COD games. So MP is what the game offers me and I have so far, played MW2 campaign and Black Ops campaign about the same amount. I am going to try and complete it this year.... will see if I do haha, but my record is against me lol

They certainly don’t say this every year, they’ve had games that didn’t meet expectations e.g COD Vanguard and Black Ops 3.
How does it make sense to you to call a game with its own distinct campaign a ‘reskin’?

They really should. Hell, release Infinite Warfare, it's 8 years old now. The rollout of these games has been surprisingly slow.

The only time I have heard of licensing issues is with like Forza and the deals they have with the cars

The Maps are atrocious, but the gameplay is good, Nuketown instantly makes it a good game to spend a few hours a night on, i'm sure they will put some other classic maps in and it will elevate it to being the best current gen FPS game so far.
