Phil keeps telling us he's a big fan of MechAssault but those games weren't even available on backwards compatibility. Licensing is an issue and possibly emulation is a problem too for the first game.
This kind of conversation is much more interesting to me than Halo or Gears - especially the current gen slop.
But I think to get any of those 360 titles done will take an enterprising third party to make a deal with MS, do the ports and split the revenues. MS have their hands full getting their current gen games off of xbox hardware and migrating the final cadre of users to something else.
And after the news about Iron Galaxy struggling today, I think there's probably not much money floating around to fund this stuff.
Remember way back when MS were supposed to have endless funds for all this and could fund GP for $1 forever? Yeah, that was BS.
As a big fan of Remedy, I would love to be able to play Quantum Break. The other games listed I don't feel anything about. When Ryse came out I would've been all over it but it doesn't seem like a game that deserves to be ported.
One game that was not listed though is Rare Replay! Maybe it's not as important anymore seeing as a few of those games (especially Banjo 1 + 2) are available on NSO, but to have that collection woild still be very cool
Your list makes me feel old.
Microsoft old classics are flight simulator, midtown madness and fable.
Also the games you list are mid at best (conviction i don't know i did not play).
It might not be a coincidence that microsoft, after having released those as xbox exclusive in order to win the console war, was soundly beaten into the half dead state they are in now.
Insomniac are usually trying to keep some staff busy with remasters instead of letting them go. Could make sense and with insomniacs name a collosus these days and ratchet on the back burner could be a good addition to PS Premium.
The thing is, Insomniac's roadmap of releases up to 2030 is so packed and full of ambitious, tentpole releases -- Marvel's Wolverine (2026), Marvel's Spider-Man: Venom (2027), Marvel's Spider-Man 3 (2028) and Ratchet & Clank (2029/2030) -- that they won't have developers without enough work to do in between projects at all, in fact, they'll be jumping from full production on one project to the next.
