I love Resident Evil so much but wish I could get into Monster Hunter since it's a huge high budget game from Capcom but could just never get into it even when my Cousin gifted MHW to me on Steam. Just something about the whole overall game that doesn't work with me. Glad to see it doing so well though. More funds for Capcom so I'll want them to keep making lots of great Resident Evil games.

So... 60% of people writing a review seem unable to even get into the game without crashing.
That's impressive, even for Capcom's famously shitty PC ports.

People buying Capcom games on PC on release must have developed some kind of gambling and/or pain addiction.

This'll likely at least tie Black Myth Wukong's Steam concurrent at this rate...can see it hitting 2.5 million over the weekend with little issue.

As usual, very curious about console numbers but for things like concurrents, SIE & MS obfuscate them for IMO dumb reasons (likely to do with 3P publishers preferring it that way).

Don't see the connection between RE and MH but yes, this game doing very well in sales means stuff like RE9/RE10 or SF7 are a lock.

Probably still nothing new with Dino Crisis tho 😂

The game had two beta tests, if their PC were underspecs, they would have known by now. You think they would just spend 70 bucks to review bomb this game? This is nonsense.

And the minimum specs listed is
  • Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-10400 or Intel® Core™ i3-12100 or AMD Ryzen™ 5 3600
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1660(VRAM 6GB) or AMD Radeon™ RX 5500 XT(VRAM 8GB)
Come on now.
The minimum specs are only enough to get you to the start menu.

If that doesn't beat that count than GTA VI definitely would. I'm guessing GTA VI would reach 3 million ccp, probably not going to beat Pug G's peak cpp since that game is super cheap.

Never played Dino Crisis but I'll definitely be into a remake of that more than Monster Hunter for a dino enemy styled game.

I kinda dunno if GTA6 will manage to do that TBH. For starters it's not Day 1 on Steam, and secondly I'm not sure how big the IP is outside of the West. The Steam games breaking concurrent records ,i.e PUBG, Black Myth Wukong, and now Monster Hunter Wilds...are doing so because of China.

But AFAIK, GTA is a non-entity in that market. So remains to be seen if a 1-year late PC port relying mainly on US & European players can get GTA6 to match PUBG or even BMW peak concurrent. At least, just going off steam. It's entirely possible the game could easily match that with just PS5 & Xbox alone on the console launch, but the problem is, SIE & MS don't provide transparent player metrics/data. Things like CCUs are obfuscated on their platform, that's one of their weaknesses compared to Steam IMHO.

Because of that we can only go by relative chart positions and listings, but that's never as good as hard numbers.

For what it's worth, the same happened with MH World when it launched on Steam so this is not a big shocker.

People forget back when World launched the criticisms that it "looked like a 360 game" and it run terribly on the hardware of it's day

Today you can brute force World with much better hardware than 6 years ago and it looks good

Wilds will have the same progression, probably around the RTX 7090 you'll be able to brute force it to 4K native res and it will look great

nonsense...
Even if they somehow stabilise the performance in the future the game is still stuck with a godawful lighting system and assets and models that would've looked dated even on PS4....
This game will never look good, let alone great.

Why would native 4K make any measurable difference? You can already make it look as good as it's gonna look, and it ain't that great.

No you're not. Unless you're talking FHD those are FG numbers. A 4090 runs in the 80s-90s @wqhd in the grasslands....
I haven't been to the grasslands, unless you are referring to the forest. The only time I saw it dip below 80 is that cavern to the Oilwell basin. By the way, the resolution I'm using is 5440 x 1440 ultrawide about 10% difference in pixelxount.

What a bunch of nonsense, World never looked like a 360 game and was the best looking MH game to date at that time.

Yes there were some issues but nothing like Wilds.

Dont try to downplay this

Be ready to update these numbers because they are about to go up.

Not today. Usually games peak at around 20:00 in W-Europe, but MHW peaked yesterday at 14:00 which means the bulk of the players are in Asia, not in Europe or the US. I think the game has already peaked for today, but the CCU number could go up tomorrow.
