How many people in this thread alone keep on repeating how great this game looks despite visuals that are often not even PS4 quality with all the PS3 level textures and models around?

Capcom knows that the overwhelming majority doesn't watch any tech analysis videos or do their own benchmarks nor do a lot of people even realize what terrible quality they are supporting here. I bet most people even fall for that "framegen by default" shit judging from the amount of brain-dead idiots touting fps numbers that are 100%FG without realising it "my game runs fine"....

I'm honestly baffled there isn't ANY content after HR50
Reeks of a game rushed out the door for fiscal reasons.

I'm currently HR30 and I loved the game but there is a very clear lack of content. Mix that with the horrrrible technical issues; yea this game was rushed out to meet fiscal year projections.

I like Spread HBG but I am probably just gonna take 2 Gunlances all the time now for the Quad Wyvern Fire. Monster Knockdown > WF1 > WF2 > Nerscylla Sleep proc > Weapon Swap > WF3 > WF4

Gotta test if the other Gunlance that isn't being used starts it's cooldown while inactive. Yay theorycrafting.

It's mind-boggling that they released it in this state.

I would genuinely love to meet the person who gave the final approval, not out of anger, but pure curiosity. What went through their mind when they signed off on this? Did they just not care, or were they convinced this was somehow acceptable?

Because from the outside, it looks like either complete incompetence or a total disregard for quality.

It feels like they just slapped it together and hoped no one would notice.
See this is exactly why whenever I see threads about how we need more AA games, devs should focus on gameplay and not graphics etc, I always laugh.

This chest piece looks like a life vest with a tie. I'm ready to abandon ship with my life vest now, and I'm dressed in my best and ready to go down like a Hunter

Or maybe some people care less about the graphical issues than some others do?

The problem inst even the graphics, no one expect top notch fidelity in a MH game, but ffs, this should be running at 120fps on base PS5. ( Its a hyperbole, Just saying cause some ppl ll take this to the letter )

The sheer scale of this game bigger than any MH game to date....when monsters going under sand they look like they actually going under the sand and ground is deforming instead of monster just clipping though the ground like the last games.

Just fought Xu Wu and goddamn is the SnS so much fun in this fight. One of my favorite fights yet.
I started out with Hammer and it's a lot of fun.. then I gave SnS a try because it tends to be my go-to weapon and holy hell to I love it even more. It has so much movement - It really let's you stick to the monster constantly.

Still wish they brought back oils though xD

SnS is amazing in this one... so much movement options and combos, it doesn't guard as well as it did in rise and that's for the better as it as OP as fuck lol

I'm assuming because the game does NOT look good enough to have the poor performance that it does.
Why?
Because of lower resolution textures? Textures are like the last thing that determines performance.
But that aside, how do you make the leap from poor performance to 120 fps? What's the logic there? Again textures? Because that makes no sense.

SnS is the begginer weapons, HBG has a shield build in It, so If u stay still during Monsters attacks you ll auto block, you ll lose some health but not much.

Play the story to get into the HR quest, there is were the game ll really begin.

There is no "beginner weapon" in this game... it was the default weapon and it isn't anymore, for rise it was long sword and for wilds is great sword... going by your logic great sword is the beginners weapon. Long sword is a better argument for a "beinner weapon": huge sweeping strikes so no aiming, counters, espectacular aerial combos and it remains mobile.

Wasn't planning to purchase but here we are. I'm having an amazing time with the game so far. I think its on the easier side, because I was carting multiple times from the first monster in Rise, while I only carted once while fighting Doshaguma. The difficulty does ramp up gradually so I'm liking the new difficulty curve, its giving me more confidence moving forward. Maybe I'll try to finish up World after this.

Playing it on the base PS5 on balanced, performance is pretty solid most times and I dont mind the graphics, they look good to me. Dont really mind the story, but the team should've just let the boy run up to Rey Dau and Arkveld, and be rid of his dumb ass.

SnS is sword and shield?

That's what I'm using. I like how quick it is.

It’s nuts in this game. The maneuverability with triangle attacks and the slide lets you reposition so easily, i never need to guard unless im fishing for a clash. Also I swear the slide attack has iframes, I’ve slid through a few roars with it. And on top of it all, it does good damage.

I’ve completely dropped LN and LS, I just use SnS now with a with a second SnS that’s status, or a GS for extra oomph if a monster is sleeping

Spent some time this afternoon just doing sos quests farming for some mats…everything is so much faster in Wilds than it was in rise or world.

I know I am cherry picking the sos mission finder (I was getting into hunts in about* 15 seconds) but so far the multiplayer has been extremely solid for me.

I have heard that the co-op missions and lobby matchmaking is rough, but so far it’s been golden.

Finished the main story (saw credits) at ~19 hours. I did farm a bit to craft all the charge blade weapons and a few armor sets. Never carted but did get close a few times. I've only finished a couple MH games (Tri and Worlds) and have maybe 100 hours in the franchise total so I'd say the low rank difficulty is about right for newcomers (sorry veterans). The story was fine but as others have mentioned, it gets in the way of the fun. Several times I wanted to run around and do something else but couldn't leave my friends, or I come back from a hunt and have to wait for story dialogue to play out before I could do something like craft. The on rails/walking parts were obnoxious like in every game.

Very positive about the game overall though.

SnS has high mobility, easy combos, has a shield to block, has perfect block, good to proc elemental illness there isnt any other weapon in the game that covers all of this, sometimes i really ask If you guys really did play MH games.

There is plenty of threads here and on the internet discussing why the game runs and look like shit, i dont have to prove my claims, go do some research and you ll find out.

and has the range of a kitchen knife, needing that you stick close the monster and be precise and also read the monster attacks carefully in order to get out in time, both two qualities newbies will not have... meanwhile the longsword has range which means it fixes both the main problems with beginners, hence why it was considered the noob cannon of choice and before world if you joined japanese high-g rank lobbies with one equipped you'd get booted before you had time to say hi.

Sure you do, because nobody has contested how it runs, we all know it, since we're all playing it.
This is about your insane claim that this should run at 120fps on a base ps5, but with nothing to back up actually how, so yes, shitposting.

But a beginner isn’t going to be able to time counters well or consistently or keep their spirit guage up. Which also requires “reading the monsters attacks carefully”

And the range of SnS isn’t that bad, and you don’t need to be that precise with it. Have you played it? The slashes cover a fairly wide area. I’d definitely say it’s better for someone new over LS.

Yeah, and the perfect blocking with bonus counter damage is addicting to pull off.

thanks, everyone: sword & shield it is!...

So many people seeing the truth of sword and shield in this thread, you love to see it.

Sliding back and forth under Rey Dau slashing his underside and tail and face while he spun around trying to zap me as pure Monster Hunter bliss. This game rocks

Yeah flat is a good term for it

The game is seriously lacking soul compared to World. Feels generic, dead, boring. Just plain unappealing.

Honestly really regretting my purchase so far, despite it being fun to play I’m having difficulty mustering the desire to boot it up

I am in the same boat as well. World was so much better. Even Rise feels better than this.

The best part of this animation is how the game first floats him to the monster's head to start the animation and it looks so goofy. It would have been better to just teleport the player right to the starting spot on the head rather than slowly float him
The character uses the clutch claw (not new in wilds) after popping the wound on the back leg (new in wilds)...the claw attaches to the front of the monster and the character is "reeled" in toward the head to start the attack.
