oooh. Figured out my issue. I have a R800x version (Verizon). This is android 2.3.2

According to Xperiagamer (no I did not know this was a thing), you have to have 2.3.4. They link the same place I did earlier.

So basically I'm screwed because CDMA/Verizon. Weee

Not gonna bother trying to brute force a workaround when I can upgrade in January.

Edit: Especially when users in the comments who have managed to put newer versions of android onto their phones and still can't get it to work properly.

Edit 2: Hmm. Some people have no problem officially updating to 2.3.4 on the Verizon version of the Play. Guess mine is just stuck somehow.

Check the developer guidelines? I don't think it's mandatory to use touch controls, My guess is that the SDK just puts some virtual sticks/buttons on the screen to simulate the vita inputs.

Ah makes sense haha. Phone users are not going to like my game :p

thank you paint park

Can you post more pictures of the store interface? Like inside of a game.

I also see here that they have 2 subsections:

- Games
- Apps

What kind of apps are there?

InfiniteNine

Rolling Girl
Well I can't install it on my Xperia Play since it gives me a parsing error for the file no matter how many times I download it. Will try on my Vita next~

I hope the inclusion of things like the Xperia Play doesn't mean that higher end titles like Nova 3 are excluded.

What kind of screenshots would you like? The store front pretty much is the Vita store front so nothing special there. The live areas all look like this:

Only app right now is Beats Trellis which is a music making app:

They eventually will have to do tiers of certification, i.e. Tier 1 only high end devices that are able to play the latest games, Tier 2 get most games except the ones that are too taxing and so forth. No other way around it, smartphone technology is growing too quickly and they can't be stuck making games for a phone that released 2 years ago.

Just a music sequencer. Japan has one that helps you learn english

Hmmm I guess it just launched to no hype, so that's to be expected. Wonder if day to day apps will ever show up there? Considering they can already be gotten on google play, I kinda doubt it. Curious to see what apps will show up.

Thanks. Mainly wanted to see the screen once you click on PSM tab and once you click inside a game. Do they all have the basic template as Beats Trellis?

Yes, all the ones that I have seen look exactly like this.

Yup, you can make the controls black or white too.

What more could you want.. thanks!

Btw that eufloria japanese price of 800 yen is like double the iOS price right? Perhaps also nag if there are any differences between the Eufloria HD in the interview if it's not too late? Sorry, last one I promise, thanks again.

I read from the folks at XDA that PSM works in a custom rom for the Verizon XPlay for the record (if anyone has his same problem).

wtf Sony, these are unknown games for the mass. They won't have many previews or reviews in the press, no ads.

Demos should be mandatory.

or at least have a video. I don't understand why that is missing from the Vita store. That said there are screenshots which they can't be bothered to put on almost everything else in the store

Kass, do you know if these games can be updated easily, à la Google Play and App Store?

Q: One thing that other mobile platforms have is the quick ability to push out patches and new content. Is PSM more like this or closer to how it was with Minis?

The submission process is much more streamlined than Minis and other submission types to Sony. Fuel Tiracas and Beats Slider both passed QA in one day. I believe patches are also QA’d, but time will tell how that works out.

from this interview

And from our Samurai Beatdown one that will be posted tomorrow:

We can update PSM games as and when we like! We’re planning on keeping Samurai Beatdown interesting with new fresh levels and twists on the mechanics with constant updates.

Eufloria is pretty pricey, but I might grab.
Been meaning to play the Mac version on Steam for a while, but I never got around to it.

Hope they add leaderboards to Super Crate Box someday — it's nowhere near as much fun without them.

Great news! Thanks! I wonder how updates are done. I assume we'll have to go into the live area for each game to check for an update like it is with Vita games now. I kind of wish they would change that so we don't have to go into each live area.

I'm pretty sure SCEJ is doing this btw. The update time screams SCEJ, and the only sites that have PSMobile content are the Japanese ones.

So, I downloaded Rebel, $1.99, since it was made by PomPom Games, who you might know from "Alien Zombie Death" On PSminis (.99 cent!) and the Mutant Storm Empire series on Xbox / 360.

It's basically like an expanded Pacifism mode from GeoWars, in the fact that you run around a bunch of enemies, not shooting (You.. can't shoot, for that matter!), with the twist being that they kill each other by shooting themselves, while trying to shoot you.

You can play with Touch Screen, or Analong Stick. There are powerups)Bullet time, Armor, Decoy ability, etc) to buy with the coins you pick up with each playthough, as well as additional colors for the main character.

Haven't played the other modes, but the screens showed multiple stages, which I assmume are modes, rather than stage progression.

It's a fun enough game for 2 dollars!

And then the LORD David Bowie saith to his Son, Jonny Depp: 'Go, and spread my image amongst the cosmos. For every living thing is in anguish and only the LIGHT shall give them reprieve.'
Loot The Land looks great, is it anything like dungeon raid?

I wonder how long until PS Minis is done with. 12 more months?

Erm what ?

Minis - small games shared among PS3,PSP,PSV controled strictly by gamepad
Mobile - small games on PSV and phones, tablets with controls oriented for touchscreen.

It seems like the softest of soft launches...almost more like an open beta test.

Not available on the Ireland store, as expected :
