Ooooh... In Story mode, do I need to lose certain fights to gain 100%? Just finished Noel's winning all of them, 51%. Cool.

You get percent, but it isn't THAT significant. For Noel in particular she has a path if you DD finish everyone, then do the same to the other path(which means lose to Tager and DD finish everyone after).

Almost at 100 Ranked! Man, 200 will take forever :lol

Is there some kind of Jin throw-loop that I didn't hear about? I felt like I got trapped in one being tossed from side to side and couldnt break out of it without doing a BB. Luckily, I was able to pull of my DD and shove the gun into his face and beat him to win the match right near death.

Also, a Jin 9 levels higher than me challenged me and I won! Spiffy.

I saw a level 52 (highest level I think I've seen during matchmaking) and then decided to see the highest ranking character. Was some Arakune player that won like over 1600 matches, but was only level 49. Either he played a lot of low levels or you just need massive amounts of experience by that time.

And Tagers still make me :(

The one where he freezes you then grabs you. rinse and repeat? I also saw that today. Best thing to do is to try to escape the throw

Yeah that one. Should've escaped it way earlier, but I guess I was just confused how he was pulling it off to begin with.

Yeah I try mixing it up like a few times online as Jin. Once you see that green-purple exclamation point cancel and punish them

I'm started to get more then a handful of wins with him. Starting to learn his clap trap. I can do the throw loop but i need to learn the timing so that the clap prevents them from teching the throw.

Is the throw loop what I'm imagining, where he keeps grabbing to refreeze you? If so, I thought that had two purple exclamation marks on it which makes it easy to escape?

The highest on the 360 is Dburst, he has a crazy amount of matches played and IIRC is a level 72. You can search through rebel points and see who the actual highest level is, I guess that Arakune was just under accumulative wins?

They'll always be able to tech the throw. The 8D shockwave is done/timed so that it'll still hit regardless if they tech or not, but the timing really depends on what type of loop you're doing (above, middle, or below the shockwave; and against what character). Generally though, I find the best time to release 8D is a split-second before your next throw.

Started playing the other night finally (had to have it shipped to me from the states). It's pretty different but fun. Suprised how well I did after getting the hang of Jin. CPU AI on normal is a joke and I actually beat a dude online on my first try!

Need to get crackin' on the story mode

Good games Dragon, drubski, Papercuts, and Steel umm, something (you had a long name so I forgot).

Umm, yeah, I couldn't really talk on the mic because I apparently don't know how to talk quietly and my mom tells me she can hear me through my rooms door. I decided to use the Trauma Center Under the Knife 2 (a game for Nintendo DS) soundtest for my comments. :D

Oh god I was wondering why Trauma Center was being quoted for no reason. :lol

Awesome games everyone! A 4 hour session of BB can really take it out of you. :p

I was wondering what all the weird noises were, I knew some of them sounded familiar.

Got it!

I have to say I disagree. I wouldn't say it compares to a stick, but it's better than the 360's d-pad by quite a margin. At the very least it cuts down on the accidental jumps, and makes quarter circles a hell of a lot easier.

Ack I hope this doesn't turn out to be like SFIV where I go online and can't get higher that a %15 for wins...

I mean I know fighting games aren't my strength but still, I think I'm better at BlazBlue than SFIV. Only 4 matches so far and stillllll no win, somewhat depressing.

It's kinda tough when you are just starting out and you don't know what to expect and how to beat certain tactics like Ice Car spam. My first 10 matches were all against people with lvl 32 or something around those numbers. I got severely whooped. Keep at it and it get's better. Online, most people rarely have a good blocking game and mostly concentrate on using tried and true tactics. If you can figure out a way to punish them, they won't know anything else and you can beat the crap out of them with basic combos. When you start rushing an opponent, try to bait them to barrier burst. Do a few rushes and back off. When they barrier burst, they are in panic mode and you can use that momentum to really fuck them up since they take more damage.

I'm not that nearly that good at this game either but I have a 44% win rate.

Well I'm pretty sure Bang doesn't have an Ice Car, so at least I'm not that one annoying player.

I mean some of the 4 matches were close calls, and I won a round or two...But man I can't keep up under pressure. Once I start losing health all logical thought goes out the window. Dunno how those dudes kept cool at EVO...

But yeah I played against some higher level Tao, Ragna and Jin so far and got beat down hard. But the Ragna looked like the Joker so it's all good :)

Played a little bit, i seriously love it.
Still can't understand a thing of what i'm doing, but it's love nonetheless.

PeterVenkman, are you on psn or xbl? If psn, hit me up (shinwaIT), i'm a noob too (and an ice car spammer, for now! lol)

man I got the street fighter fightpad to finish story mode, because the DS3 d-pad does a number on my thumb, yeah they suck....HARD. They're almost as bad as the 360 D-pad. Anybody else hate this thing?

I hated it more since the goddam thing was a piece of shit, quality wise.

But that's just the one I ended up with. :/

Play more 2-d games with your DS3. Just like the past Dual Shock controllers, the more you use the d-pad, the smoother the edges will be.

Yup, good game. I could've won more matches, but I didn't expect for a player of your caliber to be playing with us a last night. I felt like I was fighting for me very life against just you last night. GG's to everyone as well, especially the dude who was maining tager (FateXFate?).:D

FateXFate is Papercuts, for future reference.

That sounds good. my GT is Sileighy and I'm a mediocre Jin player~

Nope.. mine worked like a dream when I was using it. Never had trouble with Tager's 720's or anything of the sort. I prefer my joystick now that I've gotten used to pulling off quick motions like dashing, though. The Fightpad has been relegated to sidescroller duty for XBLA games, but I find that it's better suited for those types of games anyway.

I miss you, Boobie Lady =(

Anyway, did the BB chat shrink? there was literally no one on the PSN chat yesterday... had to resort to playing randoms, but that's not as fun

I was in there a little bit, just haven't been doing much in the online of BB lately. Should be on sometime each night this week, alternating between this and Little King's Story.

so i really like this game but i'm not very good at it, at all. i am playing story mode (ragna) and i cannot for the life of me beat hakumen.

any tips?

Is the $70 SFIV stick worth getting?

I think it's actually $80. Stock parts aren't that great. You can mod it with Sanwa parts though. I have guide up on SRK on how to do that. The total cost in the end will prob be around $120 - $130 though.

Well, I'm very (very) far from some expert fighting game player (particularly with sticks), so I don't need the best stick out there. Is it really that bad for a novice? Not really sure that I want to spend all that much since I suck. :D

They had a lot of issues with stock stuff initially, but from what I heard most of it has been addressed. If you don't wanna risk it, you could always get the Hori Ex2. I think it costs around $60 - $70. Harder to mod in the long run though if you decide to do it cause you have to de-solder and grind down the Sanwa jlf cause its too long for the case.
