Volc keeps saying this game is great. My problem is, I look at the thread, look through like 8 pages, and see ONE SCREENSHOT/PICTURE FROM THE GAME. ...and it's a menu shot or something.

Is there something that technically prevents pictures, or do people just not do it? It's really hard for me to be interested in a game if no one's posting pictures. XD

Any tips for Noel vs. Hakumen and Rachel guys? Especially Haku-men. The friend I spare with most of the time is quite good with Haku and I have problems beating him. Mid-air I poke him to screw his rythm, but as soon as I tap Noel's drive she gets a bit too uncontrollable and if I mess up a stick movement it can cost me a LOT. Also... some sword slashes are overheads and I cover crouching =P.

So, tips would be great. Yes, I am taking BB seriously as a fighting game, had my doubts, was just for fun... but now it's awesome. Great companion to SF

Whatever you do, don't try going in low on Hakumen. At least in my experience with Noel, all my low attempts got shitted on by his 'stomp'. What I did against Hakumen (CPU) was go in high and use the mid-air D to get the chain going. You've gotta know where to block against Hakumen too. Also, that big swing of his isn't as slow as you think...

Against Rachel - rush & pressure. mix up the high/lows against her in the corner. watch out for the frog.

I have played you and I noticed that you don't control your drives very well (even though you beat me pretty well). If you connect a drive after hitting D, follow up with C, then forward C, then C, then bloom trigger or upper cut. That combination will always chain when it connects since each hit freezes the opponent. The only way they can escape it is to barrier burst, and even then they take more damage. They also have to be grounded for it to work.

When you mid air poke him, chain it into revolver blast always.

Against Hakumen you want to get in by air, at least in my experience. He dishes out a lot of damage so don't get caught up on the ground.

To anyone who played GG and BB, who do you think is the closest to Chipp in terms of style? Watching Evo the last few days makes me want to start BB, but I still don't think I'm ready to commit because I would need a new controller for it (have 360 only), the game and XBL (friends are into SF4), which adds up a bit more I'm willing to spent solely for one game.

You can't just cover crouching, you need to do both. Her drives are never uncontrollable. If you feel that way, you need go into training mode and just do them until you can do full combos without mashing D.

For hakumen, watch his magatamas. you can sometimes tell what a hakumen player will do based on how many magatamas he has. I usually play offensively when they have few and defensively when they have a lot, baiting them into wasting some of their magatamas.

Revolver Blast is just air hadoken with C I believe. I always use that whenever I catch someone with a jumping C. I also usually jump in on an opponent with C, then do a revolver blast before hitting the ground, which puts me behind the player for a nice crossup sometimes.

Also do you know how to do her forward C grab-cancel combo? It REALLY helps in dishing out damage because if you floor an opponent, down-down C to get them bouncing, forward C grab-cancel, dash C grab-cancel, drive combo, you can easily take away half their hp.

I'm really trying to incorporate that into my Noel game but I don't have it down yet. Been trying to do that all day and I'm getting whooped.

Yeah, the d-pad isn't so bad ^ I bitched about it before because I have an SDTV, so I assumed that attacks that are actually (forgive me if I butcher this...but the directions start from the right, right?) 1,3,2 were 1,2,3 and thought it was the d-pad's fault :lol Seriously, in the command list it looks like a quarter turn to me ;_; It was only until I looked at the tutorial DVD that I was like, "wat," and realized I had been doing them wrong.

That said, the d-pad works just fine [for me].

Vesperia was hard for me to combo in too, at least I know I'm not the only one now.

Also I never realized I was so crappy at holding the camera on this one, you can't see the healthbar for some parts, lol.

I think the site is either messing up or live in general might be, when I try to view the friendlist of a friend I'm getting "You must be friends or recently played a game online with this member to view their friends list.".

I'm a 36 and fight people around that, level usually doesn't seem to mean much. I've seen level 4 players who kick my ass and gain a bunch of levels, and then I see a level 40 Noel spammer who bursts the moment I hit them, lol.

In the videos I recorded it's anywhere from level 15-30(in the particular one above I think he was a 30), but I still see it even now.

Wow, that guy was daft. I can almost understand the first round, because he was so close to beating you and you sometimes want to burst just so you can keep up the pressure and finish the dude off, but doing that against Tager is just dumb.

The worst offender has been Nu players I go against, though it can make sense like you said to keep away to keep pressure, it usually isn't like that video and they do it near the round start.

Also a random thing I did in practice: Negative penalty + barrier burst + Tager's 720 = ~16000 damage, enough to overkill even a full health Tager.

Speaking of barrier bursting early, I played against a level 51 Noel a few days back who bursted as soon as the round started. At first I was confused and thought it was some kind of mistake, but then I guessed that maybe she was "giving me a chance" or something since I was only around lvl 24 at the time. It could also have something to do with me maining Jin, since he doesn't really seem to have the reputation of being chosen by particularly skilled players as of late. :lol

Anyways, I don't know if it was a fluke or what but she got destroyed pretty badly in the first round. It wasn't a perfect or anything, but it didn't seem like she was being aggressive at all. In the second round though, I'm guessing she got "serious". I didn't see an early burst this time. She also started pulling off nice bread and butter combos like the 5C -> grab cancel into that one Drive combo that can't be blocked out of (or something along those lines, I don't play Noel!) and excellent air combos, which again, I never saw at all in the first round. Nevertheless I managed to sneak past with a win!

Man it felt good to win that match. There's just something great about another player not taking you seriously at all based on level or character or whatever, and then you proceeding to exceed expectation and wipe the floor with them. Straight Victory!

You need to learn the read the OP + people don't sit there and spam pictures lately since the game is out (thank goodness), they just post videos!

So far, Bang seems to be the proper bastard child of Chipp and Anji to me. He has the guard points but also a great in-your-face pressure game.

Fuck people who say Noel is a noob. It's fun. And she has her stuff. With time just don't use her drive and learn her other stuff.

My 5th online match ( played all 5 with one person who was lv36, I was lv2) I lost them all....... Last round I used Noel nearly perfected him (her air grabs n tosses n crap are what really made the match, plus I pulled out her special out of no where)

Kicked me out of the game once match was over:lol I leveled up to lv7 in one match!
Dont flame me im noob to this game, I just started to learn how to do down quater left and left down quarter attakcs.... aka hadoken shoryuken thanks to my Sega Saturn USB Pad! :lol :lol :lol

If all you do is spam her drive attack and you manage to win, then the person you're playing against is not very good. I don't think Noel has any sort of stigma attached to her.

I used this guide to complete story mode. you have to lose to each character on each path to get 100% in story mode.

I really need to get my HRAP 3 dual modded. Playing with the fightpad for a long time, kills my thumb.
