360 crew, sorry for not joining any matches lately. Been working crazy overtime, and I've pretty much decided that I need to claw my way out from underneath my backlog before I go back to uni, which means all of my gaming time has been devoted to finishing Tales of Vesperia and Valkyria Chronicles.
It's advantageous to you guys, though, since as my skills continue to atrophy for the next few weeks, you'll all get free wins as I attempt to get back up to par afterwards. :lol

Yep. I used to prefer pads over sticks but ever since I own one, I can't go back. Pads are just too reserved and congested especially when it comes to quick dash and reflexes. Stick becomes very natural IMO.

There's 2 story mode guides on Gamefaqs, I used the one that had the visual charts for each character. But I only did that when I got stuck, basically I made it a point to lose every match first and save in a separate slot after each choice or when a loss brought up a new fight. That way I could go back to the last choice after I had completed the first path. I found that the only thing I really needed the guide for was knowing which characters and which fights I needed Distortion finishes on.

it is for me actually. I'm able to get to Nu but have never been able to beat her, not once. At first I had some issues with the Arakune, Litchi and Unlimited Rachel fights, but now I got those ones sorta figured out how to exploit the AI a bit. Nu just rapes me endlessly.

What character are you using? I did it with Jin and never had any issues with her(the AI rarely block ice car and his generally spammy moves). I had a few issues with Rachel but Hakumen and Nu rarely did much compared to that, then it ends with Unlimited Ragna who is the true asshole that I hope burns in hell.

Thank you. I had been browsing there as well, and watched those videos, but something I'm doing is still not right. For Hakumen, when I do get damage over 10,000, it doesn't count because supposedly it is a false combo. I just can't seem to connect the SP1 + S2 * 4 after I charge that first special move.... I tried for more than 3 hours until I gave up and went ahead to get owned in ranked matches (at least is nice to lose to people rather than just fail with a dummie... -_-'xero273 said:

I don't really care about story mode. The thing was just so incredibly anime-retarded that I couldn't stand it. The videos with booby lady and taokaka were just...ugh. I dunno how you guys did it.
Also what does owning a stick really add? Is it just better execution? I'm doing ok with the 360 controller but will shell for a stick if the rewards are sizable enough

You are only gonna get a reward if you are prepared to put in the time to learn a new control method. Ive found it to be amazing personally. Quarter circle motions are nearly second nature to me now and im not fighting my analog stick constantly. But really YMMVultim8p00 said:

For Arakune, how in the world do you do the (repeated)jump cancel midair B they show in the tutorial video repeatedly? I tried jumping backdash and trying to cancel with ABC but it didnt work, i have no idea how it works?

I found Unlimited Nu to be the hardest out of the 4 (Rachel, Hakumen, Nu, Ragna), honestly. Speaking as playing Nu, of course.

Yeah, you definitely can't play Nu's normal ranged game against her (or really most of the Unlimited enemies). Even w/o relying on throwing cheesiness, you still have to rush her and keep her pinned down. Abusing throw is just the easiest way to do it. Unlimited Nu's ability to escape is really what made her the hardest out of the bunch for me.
I didn't even know there was an Unlimited Nu until my friend told me. He'd been getting his ass torched by her the whole day then I picked up his Noel and took her down on the first attempt. She's really not that bad... you just can't let her get going and you HAVE to know Nu's attack angles. Rachel though, ugh.. Volc keeps saying this game is great. My problem is, I look at the thread, look through like 8 pages, and see ONE SCREENSHOT/PICTURE FROM THE GAME. ...and it's a menu shot or something.
Is there something that technically prevents pictures, or do people just not do it? It's really hard for me to be interested in a game if no one's posting pictures. XD
