you guys know score attack has EO controls enabled by default (dont think you can even turn it off) right?

i've not tried it but presumably its not hard to win by just flailing the right analog like a lunatic. also totally defeats the object of having a score attack mode (with an online leaderboard?!)

Any way to get one of my fellow employees at Gamestop to stop calling the game "Blahz Blue"? :lol Not really a big deal, but it was kinda funny when I was telling him about the game, and he said it in a correcting tone of voice.

I guess find a video of one of the Aksys guys pronouncing it correctly? But then you'd sort of come off as some sort of know-it-all who feels the need to correct everybody about everything, even stupid stuff. =P

Just modded my 360 D-pad (sandpaper and xacto knife) and goodlord the D-pad is so much smoother. I should have done this a long time ago.

persona 3's been eating my time with this game ;\ still a lot of fun when i pop it in though

man, I'm not all that good, but i feel awful when someone does a barrier burst out of my opening combo. especially towards the end where I was probably going to mess up execution on my finish, and not add too much damage anyway.. and they just doom themselves to get hit by it again at increased damage. i almost want to send them messages saying 'hey, don't barrier burst at the start of a fight', but so many people do it i'd get tired of typing it.

Picked this up yesterday despite hating it when I played it in the arcades back in January. Now I love it. I have no idea what the hell I'm doing most of the time, but it's great fun. I'm gonna sit down later and force myself to watch the tutorial videos on the bonus disc/REALLY try to learn how to play Noel.

Its cool, just not when im telling someone else about the game, and he comes out of no where correcting me. Its just wierd talking to someone about the same thing yet both of you are pronouncing it differently. Then again we get people asking for Grand theft auto / Street Fighter "ivy" or Residential Evil...so I should probably just be glad he knows about it.

EDIT: looking at Taokaka's special CG art in the gallery, never thought she looked like that under the coat :lol

Have you tried that suggestion yet? ... you didn't, or you wouldn't have said that.
There's a good reason why people are thankful for that P2 trick.

Finished story mode! Interesting ending stuff there

Though in the Gallery, not sure what all I'm missing to get 100%. Cleared all Arcades, all stories are 100%, and beaten Score Attack. Missing these art pieces:

Special Illustration #33
Special Illustration #24
Special Illustration #15
Special Illustration #9

Is it since I don't have all the trophies yet? All I have left there is the 100 and 200 trials for ranked and then 150 for player matches (and the platinum obviously). Well, 4 pics left and 4 trophies left...that might be what's it!

Iono though.

I had all the gallery complete before I had all of the achievements, but I'm not sure how to specifically get them since it never says. Did you do arcade with everyone?

But yeah, it's confusing. Wonder if there's a guide for how you unlock each piece of art yet. :/

Oh, whoops. :p

I don't see a guide for it anywhere, and I don't think describing the pics will help you get them at all, so I'm not sure. Have you done any ranked/player matches? Maybe winning an online match will do it.

I'm level 30 and have done lots of GAF matches, so it's not that. :/

I believe there is character specific art unlocks and then other art that just unlocks via achievements.

The character specific achievements will unlock a character specific art.

Any other achievement will just unlock "unspecific character" art. Not sure how it's ordered or what achievements are tied to what art piece. But each achievement I unlocked, I got a new piece in the gallery.

Yeah, all the character specific ones unlocked artwork IIRC, but I don't think any of the ones he has left do. I didn't jump into online that much until I had 100% in everything, and all he has left are online ones.

EDIT: D3vinci is really good as Ragna, and we just had a crazy Ragna Vs Bang match.:D

Also... we can play later. I just got burnt out of BB quick, I played from 8-4AM last night, and from 10AM-4PM today haha

Man today was a terrible terrible day. Got my ass whooped so much because I was trying to do Noel's a,a->a,->c->throw->c->throw combo but I couldn't. Is anyone else having a problem doing this online? I see good Noel players do it all the time but I can only do it in training mode.

Goddamn that's a lot! I play in short 2-3hr bursts. But yeah, I'll be on again late at night or tomorrow so we can REBEL!

I really wish I had figured this out before. I stayed up until 4am one night repeatedly getting to Ultimate Ragna and losing. >.<

I was playing this game, but I stopped when I realized I couldn't consistently pull off Distortions. I guess I'll wait for a stick or somethin'. :/

That said, here's a real easy scrub combo. I mean scrub, not you "shit, I only took off 45% instead of 55% of your life!" freaks. It's for Noel.

5A->5A->6A->6C->BC->6C->j6C->BC

Takes a good 20%-25% off of the opponent, and it's really not difficult to do. Hell, I managed it on a pad (full disclosure, I use the PS3 L stick, not the D-Pad itself). That said, there are some variations:

If they block the 5As, mix it up with 2C->3C->22C->22C. I know there should be a way to chase after the first 22C, but I have no idea how. This "mix up" can also be followed after the 6A, which is rather useful for beginners; it gives them an option in case their 6A launcher is blocked, and 2C, if blocked, pushes the opponent away and hits the Libra Guard balance pretty hard, too.

If they block low, 6B is always an option, but it comes out rather slow. I don't know how effective it'd be.

I'd also like to add that after the BC "finish" you can still chase. It's possible, if they neutral tech immediately, to hit them with Noel's arial Distortion. I know it's also possible to continue the chain, but, again, I don't know how.

So, there's a bit of "wisdom" I've gleaned from playing Noel a bit, for those that are truly just starting the game.

Oh, and it's also possible to, after the second 6C, chase with two 6Bs and finish with a 236C, but that was a bit harder to do, and not for significantly more damage, so it isn't worth learning on a pad. On a stick, though, very viable.

Edit: One more thing that might aid newcomers. Noel's ground Distortion picks people up off of the ground. Something to keep in mind. I know, if they are close enough, she picks them up with the muzzle of the machine gun, but the further they are, the lower the chance they get picked up by either a stray shot or the gun itself. Something to keep in mind.
