It was of great help to me. My second in line is Rachel, and the dvd was phenomenal for help. It helped me understand how to use Rachel's cat uppercut to keep air attacks at bay, to keep the block up, and use the chair for some easy damage if under pressure. They didn't go into much detail on the winds effects on your moveset though.

I let my friend borrow the game after only getting to play for like a day. :lol At least he's digging the game a lot.

Ya she's pretty difficult, and the bad side she's fairly low tier even if you do get good at her.
Reasons she's hard:
-Two different move sets (staff, or no staff).
-Outside of the corner she doesn't have very good mix ups. (with staff she has no good low move, Her A's also are only comboable on CH).
-Low damage
-Difficult combos that are very dependent on distance and character.
-Her distortions are difficult to use. You can't just stick them out there like some characters and get a ton of damage... they require setup.
Reasons she's awesome:
-Corner shenanigans.
-One of the best punishing moves (and AA's) in the game.
-Her Range/zoning.
-Air throw range
-Good mobility. (Command back dash, fastest air dash in game, her staff jumps)

Because it's actually trickier than that. To do the Fire punch from the forward d you have to do a Jump Cancel Cancel.... ya i never knew they existed until that combo.
Basically what happens is you cancel the forward D with a jump, but then cancel the jump before you actually leave the ground with the fire punch move.
So to do it, you have to do something like 923B or something like that. (I think B is the fire punch right?) A bang player will inform you better though.

To anyone who has gotten 100% completion on each character in Story mode, do you have to lose each match to increase your percentage? I'm sitting on around 90% with a few characters and I've done all the paths according the the thread on Dustloop.

Does the match not count if the other guy quits? I just railed a guy by spamming Jin's C attack, he called me a fag and then bailed.

GG's guys, I started button smashin but then discovered there are tactics hidden and started using them. Probably if we play tomorrow I can get some more rounds off you guys :lol Also, gotta adapt to the new stick. That's taking a while..

To both of you, I'll just say that I think it will pay off in the end. While these Jin/Noels are just constantly spamming ice cars and drives, we're taking a more tactical approach and making an effort to learn the finer mechanics of the game.
I'm learning opening in my opponents spamming, slowly learning combos, and learning my opponents tactics. I don't have the experience or the familiarity with my character to pull off what I want to pull off at this point, but I'm far more situationally aware then I was, and am feeling that I'm constantly improving. I don't think the spammers are going to quite get as much out of it as we will in the end.

You did pretty damn well for your first day with the game, Relix.

I've switched from the dpad to the control stick because I was butchering the throws a lot, so I was doing more of the 360 grabs tonight. =D
I really need to learn how to fight Jin though, he comes up so often in both ranked and player matches yet I never really got a hold on his style like I did some of the others. And I'd say Nu is a lost cause, it's pretty much like trying to scale a mountain where the littlest mistake in climbing makes the mountain angry and lob stalagmites into your chest until you get killed six times over.
Also, I definitely think you would have won more rounds just how you are now Relix. The barrier burst thing really messed it up, especially when it happened early and it's basically chopping your life in half.

I know that her strong, and middle strength air cannons can give them some trouble if you fire them from the air. Spammers wouldn't even know what to do at this point, and you can just pick at their life gauge. These tactics have helped me get my win ratio out of the low thirties into mid 40s range in player matches where the spammers reign supreme, and I've got 190 matches which makes it hard to change my win percentage as it is.
I didn't get to play with anyone tonight though ;_;
