Or give his projectile invincibility on startup.

The reason I returned to this thread was to ask if anyone has a guide for completing the story mode 100%. I tried to use the guide on GameFAQs, if I recall correctly, but that didn't give me 100% on the characters I tried it out with.

You still using Tager? It must really really be hard to use him in Japan where people are actually good with top tier characters. I'm barely scraping into top 8 here with the guy, I can't imagine how much harder that would be in Japan.

yeah I'm using Tager... at the tournament I had to face an Arakune and v-13... Arakune wasn't all that bad actually, he wasn't that good of a player, and my Carl partner whooped him pretty good lol. The v-13 on the other hand was WAY too good. I couldn't even get close to sledge through swords. It was pretty infuriating.

I'm not familiar with this term?

I think it's her... 5C? Where she shoots out a sword from her back at close range and you can tap it multiple times to hit a bunch of times in a row. I think you can often combo it into a 6C or a 2C. The thing with this move is that while she is striking with the swords, if you jump over her she will instantly turn to face you as long as she's attacking in this way. It isn't like most moves where the animation would have to finish in the wrong direction, Nu immediately turns around as you pass over her head (while still performing 5C). I suppose that's what is meant by tracking, since she turns to follow you while attacking even when you jump to the other side.

She's mid tier but easier to use for new players. I guess that would make her comparable to SFIV Ken?

Nothing against KoF, but from what I have read the latest one is pretty half-assed and you don't get too much for what you buy. And it's glitched to hell. I only used that as an example since that's pretty much the only new 2d fighter I can think of offhand on the PS3.

Consensus is you can't go too wrong with an HRAP3 or a SFIV TE. You could wait a bit around when Tekken 6 for some new sticks thouh. I believe Hori and Madcatz have things planned for the fall.

Okay seriously, Microsoft needs to install like a thing on the 360 that detects if you are playing a fighting game online, and when you pull the plug, you get banned from live. MAN!! Fucking played this Jin and he was doing his freeze-grab-freeze-grab routine, and he even FUCKING TAUNTED ME! Like "Someday you'll learn how to fight." So I'm like it's on bitch, and I start using mind games on him. Then I make a comeback and I even beat him, but as soon as Noel finishes her Distortion finish, he fucking disconnects!!!! Arggghhh!!! I'm so pissed off right now. I really wanted to save that replay. Fucking asshole.

Watch the DVD. The overviews are good to give you insight into the characters' set up, and, except for Rachel, show you all the basics to get you started.

Neither. She's in the middle somewhere and no move as abusive as Ken's SRK is online. Strong close-up game and no range at all. Always have to be in the opponent's face mixing it up since her normals have no reach. She has plenty of bad matches. Good Tagers and Nus can be rough of course. Same with Haku-men since one mistake can destroy your life bar. Arakune and Carl can be annoying, especially since none of your BnB will land fully on them... I need to get in practice mode and learn better combos just for them =/

Meh, I guess. New players can spam D all day. I wouldn't call that easier to use though. It probably just looks cooler to them as they lose to any halfway decent player. It's not like Dash 6C cancels are automatic for new players. I haven't seen any scrubs doing the 22C loop lately. She is in the middle as far as learning curve goes to get good I think. There are easier characters to learn.

Attacks just seem to fly right through her and it was just doing instant combos and it just kept being spammed with little to be done. Is there some proper counter to her as it seemed like all attacks at close range did nothing to her for some reason

Learn how to block.

Her attacks in chain mode are basically telegraphed. She's got the overhead, a couple of mids, some strong/delayed lows but everything is blockable and easily punished right after. Assault Groove (?) is the bitch though.

But yeah, learn how to block like a pro and Noel's D button becomes useless.
