The BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger Official Thread [360/PS3] - Be Ready for the Rebel

Papercuts

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
Yeah, the lag got pretty bad there for awhile. :p

Also, I think having to win 3 rounds ends up grating on you after awhile with rooms that big, maybe stick to 2 if there's 4-5 people.

Really late on this, but good games to all the people that played earlier! :D That was so much fun--thanks for joining :D

I guess we'll have to keep it to five participants from now on, though...:lol I'm sorry you had to leave early Xero :( I'll know next time so you don't have to give up your spot.
It's cool. Just glad the lag cleared up. It was just wierd that the first couple fights were ok and then bam everything moved in frames.

I started playing this for the 360 on Sunday and decided to main Rachel, but I don't feel like I'm getting any better. :(

Any Rachel players got any tips on how to fight fast characters like Jin? That's my worst matchup so far. I can barely touch Jin players.

Hi,
Many thanks for this wonderful thread!
We, recently established ARC System Works Europe, is working hard on European release of BlazBlue and really appreciate your support.

Very shortly, we would like to ask community to submit box-art of BlazBlue European version. Drawing of the winner will be used in retail version, runner-ups will be included in the manual.

A bit of head-up information.

Thanks!

Her electric chair, and spinning low moves are her saving grace against Jin players. Her fork also works well against ice car spammers right after normal blocking it since it can paralyze them temporarily. For more info I'd say that you just have to get good with Rachel Period.

Some of this might help you, and give you an idea of what you could become with her.

Hey, don't let Europe touch it. They'll get it all dirty with their... tea...

Also, why didn't you tell me how awesome Hakumen's Snowstorm was? The move lets you get away with murder.
"Hmm, if I don't barrier burst right now I'm gonna lose from chip damage alone. Oh, wait..."

If used right it could add a whole new layer to Noel's game. Especially her bloom trigger with its massive range. Imagine jumping forward, then dashing back and the other player starts rushing towards you. BAM! Gun to the face from across the screen. Did that to the AI today.

You'll be happy to hear that she can do any of her mid-drive moves upon landing too! But that 214D finish is great for surprise.

I just played my first online match. Is it just me or is there virtually NO input lag in this game?

Anyways, the guy was creaming me the first match, and then he beat me to an inch of death in the second match and just let me win. Seemed like a nice guy :lol

After those matches I opened up the manual and learned how to guard.

Heh, your play style sounds similar to mine. Although I actually know where the guard button is, I just never ever use it, lol.

Okay, okay, I may be late on this...

But are any of you also JRPG fans? Did you ever play Persona 3/FES? DO YOU KNOW FUUKA!? Anyway, she's arguably the most hated character because of her English dub
I liked it :p
, with people saying it sucks, basically (and you hear her a lot since she acts as "announcer," so to speak). ANYWAY, since the dub in BB is so goddamn godly, I decided to look up the talent and, lo and behold, the woman that does Fuuka's voice does Rachel's voice  It's just an incredible feeling, being mind-blown (I'm not a voice talent expert) and seeing an actor that's considered crappy in one project being phenomenal in another.

*cough* "Valkenhayn..." :p

Did I mention I love the dub for this game!?

/fascination with voices

Someone give Aksys's voice director (or whatever it's called) a hot, passionate kiss. Seriously.

That said, unlocking the Japanese VA interviews just made me feel like this: "o_\\." Especially since I love these behind-the-scenes stuff. I hope someone translates them or something.

...

Oh, God...don't even get me started on the steamy resonance produced by Jin and Ragna's voices...sogood.gif

EDIT: Man, I don't grasp how crazy I sound until after I post...I need to sleep :lol

Where is Qis? He didn't seem to want much to do with my UK-based room (hope the connection wasn't too bad), but kindly obliged me for a few fights. Just wanted to say cheers!

I heard your Bang was decent, but wow! Those were some nice mirror matches. Just kept getting caught by your mix-ups and baits, and at this stage I only escape if I get lucky.

Really glad I took one victory though! Went straight from lvl5-8! That was an intense 5 rounds - you can bet your ass I saved the replay :lol

If anyone else wants to train, I'm on PSN as B-Genius.

EDIT: ^ I hear ya dragonlife, the dub is actually really decent. Japanese assets in fighting games always sound exotic and interesting (even if you understand), and I always wondered how it would sound to native ears... SFIV and BB are nice recent examples!

@ dragonlife29: I love all the voice acting except V13's "help me Ragna!" Worth switching to Japanese for that alone :lol

I posted this at Dustloop. Hopefully, AKYSYS USA, will confirm if there is such a thing as "ARC EURO"I know, Arc systems works, publish their own stuff in Japan. It will be rather interesting if they are expanding into Europe to port their titles. Let's see.

Thanks for the reply.
not exactly sure how we can prove ourself as credible source..
Just like AKSYS is ARC's business partner in US, we have started our activities in Europe.
We will do the press release announcing this news in a few days, so will update here again.

best regards,
ARC Europe

Hmm.. Interesting if true, but rumours going around about BlazBlue 2' getting out at christmas. Would be wierd if NA users got BlazBlue 2' and we would still be waiting for the first game.

This is kinda bittersweet for me. I live in the UK but already imported a US copy. If I'd had any inkling it was EU bound I'd have waited and shown my support. I guess I could double dip.

Sorry I haven't been around lately, PSN'ers. I usually start to push my multiplayer games towards only weekends since I have a pretty sizeable but never shrinking backlog of single player games to finish! Should be around sometime this weekend though.

at least you're able to get through your backlog :( I request a rematch soon

No problem. I like to help out as much as I can so that people don't get discouraged. This is where the fighting genre grows , not in the studios, or the tournaments, but in the lobbies, couches, and forums.:D

blazblue 2 would show up in the arcade first. Probably be sometime until we see console release.

I will happily double-dip for this game if it gets released in the UK.

Think of it this way, you can train with the US version, sell it, put the money towards the PAL version, and already be pretty decent! Btw, I imagine there aren't too many UK-based players, so feel free to add me (B-Genius). Hope to have some matches soon :)

Bang actually has a Strider Hiryu color theme.:D
That alone might be enough to get me to play Bang more often. I mean, thinking about it logically, since I'm going to lose no matter what, I might as well be stylish while I do it, amirite?
