The BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger Official Thread [360/PS3] - Be Ready for the Rebel

Thought this was a neat game when it came out, but now that I'm playing it online, I'm LOVING it.

It's virtually lag free (how do you tell how good the connection is? it seems to be equally perfect no matter what D:) and shooting the breeze with a bunch of people in the party room with voice chat while taking turns fighting is an awesome communal experience.

Game itself is fun, too :lol

how do you get 100% with a character in story mode ?
Sometimes you have to lose a certain match, other times you have to get X number of distortion finishes, it's kinda crazy. Depends on the character, I think.

Magnus_Bulla said:
That alone might be enough to get me to play Bang more often. I mean, thinking about it logically, since I'm going to lose no matter what, I might as well be stylish while I do it, amirite?

Aw yea!

It looks pretty good, along with his other color themes with metal grey/green, gold/brown, and strider hiryu we could see more people playing him. He is underpicked so I've been winning more matches. You have a 360? Send a FR if so.

Nah, PS3 unfortunately. I honestly haven't used Bang at all yet, though I've only had the game for a little over a week. I'll have to give him a shot next time.

Damn. I didn't start to use him until the two weeks passed, and he just clicked with me. Don't be opposed to trying any character, because when I started picking Bang my Ratio went from 32/20% to 50, and it isn't slowing down. Give everyone a try, and see what happens.

I assumed you were on PSN for some reason, not 360. What's your gamertag?

so without the color palate update how many colors are there for each character?

I'm gonna add you, too, if you don't mind :p My GT's the same as my GAF name.

I don't get to fight too many Bangs :(

QisTopTier's Bang is just too good. o_O I didn't see the point in playing him more than two matches; it was like I was a training dummy with Tager.

crying shame he's not in the psn tourney. :lol tho that said I didn't realize he's faced off with Tre before. Tre won in the end, but that was a month ago. XD Would it be different now.

I remember him kicking everyone's ass at launch, too. :lol

Sadly I've gotten worse at the game. Didn't play it for a bit, and now everyone's better than me. I'm finding I want to play the more-grounded fighters over this one, which is pretty much typical for me; not getting in any practice when I should be.

I fought a really good bang in ranked once, he was I think a level 62 and completely whupped me. I'm not really sure what Tager can really do against him, I did a magna tech wheel and his drive countered it. D:

Ken Masters said:
is there a list of the combination you have to press to select these?

You just press start over the character you want to pick, and it'll give you a list of colors to choose. If you have the DLC pack you have to move the control stick or Dpad in any direction to get the other four colors.

Was his name ShamedHero? He whooped me before, and I managed to save a couple of matches. He is second place on the 360 leaderboards. He is like my inspiration. :lol

Nah I bet you're better than me. I don't get in enough practice either... Then again if you're Tager and I'm Lychee.. :lol

Ah, ShamedHero? I'm always matched up with him quite often in Ranked, lol.

Yea, I see him playing all the time, but I don't bother to play him yet. I'd feel like I'm annoying him. I'll FR him when I can give him a decent challenge.:D

Okay, gonna start playing this game for real now that I have my internet set up in my new place. Who is the least represented character? The most? The easiest/hardest to master? This is the first fighting game in years where I know nothing about any of the characters. Gonna go read up some... I'm on psn (tigerheli) if anyone wants to add :) or if there's a chat room

I think that was it, haha. I beat him one round once...but I think he was just playing and I promptly got stomped on afterwards. :lol

The concensus seems to be overall:

Least is Carl (see answer 4...)

Most is Jin by a cool green country mile.

Easiest to master is either Jin or v-13. Exceedingly safe at lowlevels and still dangerous at top.

Hardest is Carl. Oh God is it Carl. Not uncommon to hear of people losing their first 40/50 matches, even after hours of thumb-busting in practice.

Yeah there's a psn chat room. Add me (kiryogi) if you want an invite.

So Jin is the Ken of BB, eh? Too bad; he was the one I was gonna put time into first! But I won't lie, I used to get annoyed when I'd fight 9 Kens in a row in SF4. Lemme keep looking. Thx for the info!

Kiryogi - I added ya. Thx!

I think Noel is the Ken of BB. Not only are there loads of Noel players, scrubs who just mash D combos are annoying to play against. scrubs who try to spam anything with Jin don't get very far.

I think the easiest one to pick up and play properly would be Rawrgna.

I fought a level 50 Noel a couple of days ago. All he/she did was spam the D button. I destroyed them asbsolutely, and RAGED at the thought of them reaching level 50 by spamming drive.

Edit:

To commish: Give Taokaka, and Tager a try. I don't meet many of those that often so they mess my game up quite a bit when I meet a decent one. Rachel is also amazing character, who is extremely fun, and versatile.

I have the same stance on Jin as I do with Ken, I wouldn't feel turned off all because a character gets a lot of representation. Fighting a good Jin is a relief, the only reason he seems to get so much play online is his easily spammed moves, if you use those in limited quantities I don't think it'll matter much. I started online with Noel who is also pretty frequently used to spam moves, and I'd actually get positive messages from people saying they're glad they actually fought a Noel that used more than 1 button.

Sure, fighting 9 kens is annoying, but doesn't it feel good when you fight a ken that isn't spamming hadokens and shoryukens? I dunno, just my stance on it. :p

I really hate when I play people like that who have an even higher win percentage than I do. What the hell people. :lol

Does icecar have alot of priority? I tested it with a newbie friend and even though i told him i was going to random spam icecar and mash C the whole time, he got killed by it.

I'd guess so, but was he trying to hit Jin while doing it? It needs to be (non-barrier)blocked then punished.

just block and punish. It's not the sort of move you try to beat with another.

Eh, those days are ending quickly as more, and more people are getting serious about it. We don't have nearly as large of population of nubs as SF4 so its just a matter of time.

Taokaka seems to be pretty fun (and funny). Tager seems to be a grappler, and I normally don't like those kinds of characters, though I've watched some videos where a Tager, near death, unleashes some ridiculous moves to come back and win.

Hey guys, I caved under internet peer pressure and bought this.

XBL is otakugamer for anyone looking to beet up on a scrubby scrub noob. I checked out most of the cast in training mode and there are a few in there I'd like to get better with (litchi, taokakka and hell even the moe moe gothic lolita was kind of cool even if the design was a bit insipid).

I tried beating Score Attack Mode today.

Got to Hakumen, but I just got physically tired after a long day and just stopped.

I do have a query, though; I have extreme difficulty beating Tager. I don't have real difficulties with anyone else, actually, just Tager. The only way I have of beating him is spamming Optic Blast from a distance. If I try to actually engage, it's exceedingly dangerous to do so.

Gigantic Tager comes out incredibly fast, and does a good 30% of my health. It also comes out faster than many of my C moves, which I use often. Even when arial C lands, if it doesn't connect fully, I'll be caught.

Any ideas? It feels lame to pass him by just using Optic Blast, I'm not learning anything from that.

Do you mean the Tager in Score Attack or just fighting Tager in general?

We are planning to release in Q1 2010. Sincere apologies for keep you waiting that long, but there are lots of texts to localize...
Game will come in Eng, French, Italian, German, and Spanish and will have some small additionals.

I hope they don't cut the original japanese dub...

As a Nu player, I feel like all I ever do is lure the enemy out and nail 'em with D while staying far away, and then using C to keep my distance when things get too close. I toss in some specials to mix things up, but that's about it. Honestly, I almost never use A or B.

Am I doing it right? I feel like I'm not, but it's kinda working for me. :lol
