Any word of when this is supposed to hit in Canada? I'm guessing it's gonna be around July 2nd but I haven't been able to find any confirmation on it.

Yeah, same here! This game is absolutely crazy. I'm not sure I'll ever get the hang of it but I'm impressed. All the characters play so differently, the online is pretty damn amazing, and I'm not really running into any 'flowcharters' yet...but that may be because I can't recognize a flowchart cuz I have no damn clue what's going on most of the time. Didn't run into a single Carl or Tagar or V-13. Lots and lots of Rachels. Can't wait for everyone else to get it tomorrow.

Just a little piece of advice: Focus on learning one character, forget the rest. They play so differently one from another, and if you try to learn at least the basics of all characters, you'll forget everything by the end of the day.

Arakune is actually pretty easy to use. I didn't really play much GG, but have played a fair bit of MvC1 and 2 so anyone with straight forward launchers and air combos is familiar. But yeah at this point I'm just trying to figure out all the moves, ranges, figure out what's cancellable and how to combo into distrotion drives.

This is true. Although I'm still figuring out who to main, so I'm going to mess with them all a little and stick with one, but already I think it's gonna be all about Arakune.

Well, gameplay feels a little slow and plodding. The sound quality is abysmal and there are way too many loading/filler screens.

I guess, I'm just not a fan of 2D fighting games in general.

Gameplay slow? Set the difficulty to Hell and play against CPU Taokaka. See if you can keep up.

The fillers can all be skipped btw. I don't know, the game loads very fast for me. Maybe the loading times are bad if you don't install the game.

I am leaving for a week-long trip tomorrow, and I hope that BlazBlue is waiting for me once I return. I pre-ordered it from VideoGamesPlus and I live in Finland, so it isn't a given, but I'm crossing my fingers.

That's just ridiculous...hopefully the story is worth it. The ign review said it was good but that guy seemed like a huge fanboy of GG and anime

Soooo...one last question before I pick up my preorder today. I'm a very casual fighting game fan. My fav fighters of all-time is Killer Instinct and MvC2. I never really played the hardcore King Of Fighters, Guilty Gear, etc. franchises. Also not very good at fighting games. Will someone who meets those criteria like BlazBlue?

I'd say if you like mvc2(and not just because of the characters in it) then you will love BB.

Hrm. Well. KI is nothing compared to BB. But MvC2 is pretty close. So you should have a little bit of familiarity with the gameplay. So you should be okay. Just don't give up if you "don't get it".

not totally accurate. they make the estimates further a long so people won't complain if you didn't receive it by then. you will probably get it next week if it's shipped already.

Man, I hope I like this game. I usually don't do blind buys like this...blind as in never played it / first heard about it a couple days ago. SF4 was good but I just couldn't get into it for some reason. Put a few hours into it and sold it. Didn't even try all the chars. I was disappointed there was only one big ultra move per char...idk was hoping for more flashy moves. Blazblue looks to have a lot of these. I just play for fun, u know??

I think you'll be able to try all the characters in this game because there are a little less than half the amount SFIV has and they're all available from the start.

The flash is definitely there. And hey, playing against good competition is also fun; win or lose, u know??

picked up a SF4 TE stick last night, I don't even play fighting games! I'm hoping BlazBlue will be a gateway for me. I don't have it preordered though, I'm going to check a few stores after work today in hopes of getting it

buyer's remorse kicks in in 3....2....1....

Well, you can always go on a comp-stomp too and practice combos against someone who is at a predictable, not-so-serious level. And you definitely have enough flash, play Jin or Nu for maximum effect there. :D

Sorry if this has been answered... I am assuming the game runs in 720p. Does anyone know if the PS3 will upscale this game to 1080p? I know the 360 will upscale anything, but it varies with PS3 games. Thanks for the help, still deciding which version to get, but leaning towards the 360 ver.

You sound just like me, except I didn't sell my copy of SF4.
But I understand, I don't doubt BlazBlue will provide the fun im looking for in a game right now.

Called my Gamestop, guy on the phone had no idea what I was talking about, put me on hold, and then told me to call after noon to see if they got it in with those shipments.

I'm in Eastern PA.
