The Last Guardian review embargo lifts on December 5th at 7am PST/10am EST/16.00 CET

JaseC

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
As we get closer to 10 AM I expect a lot of posts like these:

15 Minutes
5 Minutes
2 Minutes

So beautifully blasted by the Brodeo:
GFW Radio - 100407 - Heroes of the Web - Halo review hype

If I had any creativity I would have just re-interrupted all the Halo references and wrote my own review using this template...I just don't know enough about Japan.

I've noticed over the years that perma-banned members quite often try logging in months if not years after the ban to see if there's been a change of heart. I find that interesting.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?

It happens on the incredibly rare occasion now and again.

Eh less than 2 mins in and the review seems bit spoilery

He is saying it's a legendary experience just like SoTC and it even has better story.

The impressions on gaf so far have seemed really positive so i'm expecting good things. I'm not that invested in it but I hope all those die-hards get the game they've wanted all these years. Still, like all Ueda games, they're divisive and there will be some low scores. I'm sure Gaf will treat them with respect and not attack the author/outlet and say it's only because the review is "badly written" and not because of the score, and not spend the entire thread talking about those outlets.

Of course, the gaming audience has moved past such petty and childish reactions

I can see tons of 75/ low 80s scores.
I can also see a few 10.

The kind of title that is objectively far from perfect from either a technical or gameplay perspective, but is beautiful and impactful enough it will become someone's favorite game of all times.

Scores mean nothing.

High 80s and 90s? Nah. Low 80s or high 70s. I think previews have already shown some outlets are going to hit it hard for PS2-era controls, whatever that means.

As long as it is an ICO/SOTC game through and through I'm happy. Reason I haven't bought FF15 yet is Square westernizing everything and obsessing over changing a lot of what I liked in PS1/PS2 days. So in that sense I hope TLG is unashamedly similar to what came before.

Your entire argument is silly. Who else than fans of past games would 'generate hype' (that phrase ugh)?

Also, you have entirely no idea how crowd-pleasing this game will turn out to be.

We will have to agree to disagree on this but there is enough info on the game out there to tell me this won't be a crown-pleaser. These types of games simply don't appeal to a lot of people.

Also on your first point, if a game has enough mass appeal, people who aren't fans of past games would totally get hyped for a new release.

Take for example Horizon Zero Dawn. Some folks who don't care for Killzone are still totally getting excited for that.

My guess is 86. Review scores in general seem to be trending lower this gen, but Trico looks so adorable and I think if the game really nails that relationship it'll score well.

I still can't believe that we are so close. I will never forget the moment when TLG was first announced. I was then in high school...

My God how time flies.

That has less to do with being fans or not of Killzone and more about being fans of an entirely different genre. Not being a fan of Killzone and being excited for Horizon are not mutual things

Ueda's games all have a similar overall tone, style, and underlying gameplay

It's been an insane journey. I often found myself taking it for granted while playing and forgetting just how crazy it is to finally have it release
