You already know if you will like this game.
Probably accurate. And i think review scores may be all over the place as this kind of game isn't for everyone, even less so now than back when Ico and SOTC came out. I preordered it months back, anyway.

What does that even mean?
As in it looks like it is the same clunky controls from Shadows of the Colossus. The game has been in development for what 10 years? I wouldn't even say the game looks all that good graphically. Could just be the art style as well.
Yeah, I'm not sure how that thread will go but probably not well.
Tom did all the coverage for it so we'll see how it goes.
I choose not to do this one since I wanted to savor the game for myself without deadlines.
I don't have a clue what this game is about and so far none of the hype has touched me.
I literally have no idea why people are going so nuts about it.
It'll probably meta in the 70-80 range but I'd love to know what the draw is here?

How can people predict scores with not even playing the game?
How can you predict if people will enjoy or not something if you hasn't try it yet?

It's the next game from Fumito Ueda, the director of the much beloved PS2 games Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. Not much to get.
Ico and Shadow of the Colossus were both incredible. Throw in a long long wait and there's the anticipation.
Long awaited successor to Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. Consider that Ico basically influenced the entire industry, leading to the creation of the Souls series and influencing everything from Halo and The Last of Us to Snake Eater and Twilight PrincessI don't have a clue what this game is about and so far none of the hype has touched me.

So basically if I didn't really care for those games there is a good chance I won't care much for this?

That is very much correct. Don't get fooled by the hype since most of it is coming from fans of Team Ico.
You make it sound like the only reason to hyped is because you're a fan of Team Ico's games and the game itself has not merits of its ownThat is very much correct. Don't get fooled by the hype since most of it is coming from fans of Team Ico.
Played it yesterday, had alot of problems with camera but man this game is magical, the AI is actually great, trico feels real, no game is like this game but it's not for everyone.

Which game is for everyone?
Well I mean I get the point about some kid having a giant dog as a pet or something but I don't really understand what the premise is.
I just wanted to know what it was exactly that was making people hype so much for it.
Other users have mentioned the Ico and Shadow of Colossus thing and I wasn't really a fan of either game tbf so that pretty much answers my question.
I think I'll steer clear of it anyway.
By guessing, not that hard. How can people predict scores with not even playing the game?

It's Simon Parkin's (The Guardian, Edge, The New Yorker) game of the year, and considering he is one of the best game journos out there, that's pretty high praise.
Closest mainstream thing to Ueda games are the Ghibli movies. If you like those, you'll probably like this.
There's this one from 2013Are there any documentaries/articles that go into Ueda games and the influence they have had on other games and developers? I can imagine it could be the basis for a great video with lots of talking head testimony.

Ueda games are closer to the spirit of Ghibli movies than NnK, despite the art style differences.I do actually. Didn't really like Ni No Kuni much but I bought it based on the Ghibli thing.
I'll check this game out on that recommendation.
