Will it be capable of running MHwild decently? It's a new war environment in handheld since this will compete against rumored xbox handheld, and fast growing steam deck.

not in its current state.

what I hope for is however that the Switch 2 will lead to better optimisation by developers in order to be able to release their games on Switch 2.
it's the same reason that I like the fact that the Series S exists.
Developers have to optimise better, which benefits every other system.

after Warframe was ported to Switch, the performance improvements made to the engine were ported to the other versions, improving performance for everyone.
so maybe this can happen for Monster Hunter too... maybe after the Capcom bosses tell their devs that they need to have the game on Switch 2 for the Japanese market and stuff, and the devs are forced to actually make the game run at an acceptable level of performance... and maybe this could lead to the other console version to actually not be dogshit

Well less than a month away now, more interested to see how they will approach this.

The mouse control thing seems like the new gimmick so we will likely see a new Mario Paint and some other games that use the feature before it becomes completely useless for 99% of games after the first year.

Need to see what controllers/accessories from Switch will be usable on the next hardware, probably none.

Somehow, I feel like the dock will not be included in one SKU to bring the price down but we'll be able to just connect it directly to a TV without the need for it. Maybe a bundle with the dock for $50 more.

As for the games, well, I'm interested to see how they make a clear distinction between games that are only playable on Switch 2 vs. Switch. Probabaly the mouse control will play a part in that, for now.

I expect Ubisoft will show a bunch of last gen ports for it as they usually do with the release of new Nintendo hardware, maybe one new exclusive (or timed exclusive).

Hoping to be surprised by some announcements, even though I'll mainly be getting this just to play Metroid Prime 4, Xenoblade X Remaster and Mario Cart.

painting with a mouse? seems very painful to do, for painting on a Console you would need a graphics tablet like on the pc.

Well they already did it on SNES so like a callback to that. Maybe it will be more like a new Mario Maker but with the ability to alter or create sprites and such.

Yeah, back in the days we had no choice but to use a mouse, nowadays the times changed and a mouse doesn't cut it anymore.
I've seen awesome work done on a DS with a sporadic paint program.

If they have a mouse controller I think most FPS/TPS games will implement this as a control scheme. CoD is coming for 10 years minimum and we’ll likely get updates for Fortnite, Apex and Overwatch 2.

Microsoft are also porting all of their strategy games to PS and it would be an open goal to include them on Switch 2 with mouse support. There’s also stuff like Football Manager.

I’d never use it but it seems like a better gimmick than 3D or something like that.

Yeah I dunno man im just throwing shit out there, its a game that people from my gen will recall so it already has some notoriety. Of course nobody is expecting to do any real work with it, this is a game console, its not meant to compete with any modern method lol

I actually really miss 3D, Played the first couple Trine games like that with a friend and it was awesome. Also loved plying games in 3D on the 3DS. Mario 3D Land in particular made some clever use out of that. With the processing power we have now we could actually see some really nice ones that wouldn't completely tank the frame rate too. But I'm in the minority for that. Still have my Playstation 3D TV and still works great.

Same here, wish the switch 2 would have made a 3D comeback.
