Hmmm...so this could be a "big surprise" or simply the biggest surprise the show has had. That's not a high benchmark. But it could be genuinely surprising.

Either way, if it were huge huge, would it be in the first five minutes?

So when is it starting? Their website says it's 45 minutes away....

But it says Dec. 12 8PM.. I'm confused. Becasue my 8PM (central european time) is in 45 minutes.

Their clock must not adjust for time zones. Right now, we're looking at 6h40m until it starts.

Over 140 countries get to witness Jersey Shore, which of course is phenomenal, in all its glory tonight. Think of this as New Jersey's contribution to the scene.

show is full of new yorkers, doesn't count!

Is this gonna be another event with all the celebrity guests and stuff, or is it just gonna be Keighley with a small crowd presenting the awards and trailers.

^ Pachter will come on stage with his arms raised in the air, victorious.

"Don't go away! More announcement coming up right after these commercials/awards!"

If it's Wii HD, Pachter should come out on stage and announce it. :p

In a perfect world, this big surprise would be Shinji Mikami's new game.

However, we all know it's going to be a new boring first-person shooter.

To the people saying that we are going to see something Nintendo here tonight, you are all fools. There's no way in hell a Nintendo product will debut on SPIKE.

Indeed, but it would be insanely big and not something anyone would see coming.

So, I don't believe Sony would sit this one out, considering last years Uncharted 2 trailer got a whole lot of hype going and essentially, along with the GOW III trailer, made the show worth watching.

So, what one Sony game is the most likely that could be big enough for Keighleys hyperbole?

It's not a Sony game but a teaser from The Agent would be huge.

Did he anti-confirm God of War? It's so obviously this show's demographic Spike would probably pay for a thirty minute ad for it themselves.

shit, I thought it was going to start now. I think the OP needs to be updated with streaming links, confirmed premieres, hour, etc.

To avoid the typical questions.

Twisted Metal? I'm struggling to think what "the best time" exactly is to show that game, since Jaffe and co must've been working on it for years now and if theyve still got nothing to show it's either crazy over protective marketing or troubled development.

You know, the same kinda stuff that makes people think L.A.Noire is completely vaporware :lol

Project Needlemouse & MvC3 to be announced.. for DC2. I really want these games to be announced though.

Indeed, that would be big, and I think it might happen, but that still leaves Sony, as a publisher out of the question. There were a few games I'd heard had footage cut for them a few months ago, with the aim of them being used for an announcement of some sort, both being Sony IP's, but they didn't surface, and they definitely aren't the types of games that would bring 'wows' at the VGAs.

I think we'll see Fallout: New Vegas and Agent at the awards, but I'm stumped for Sony's actual titles.

Twisted Metal will probably be at GDC, as will Resistance 3. I don't think Motorstorm is big enough for this occasion. Ah sod it.

You guys are setting yourselves up for a letdown. I love Geoff but he's done this before...
Basically. I would get excited if he announced a secret game that he didn't think would be a megaton.

R* said there'd be no more info on Agent this year, so I doubt it's that....and I doubt it's anything from Sony, they seem to be circling the wagon as far as their own games go.

Gears 3 IMO. Seems realistic enough.

Didn't Epic say they were going to do something multiplatform at some point? I'd love for a big announcement to be something multiplatform. It seems like a lot of hyped things are exclusives or yearly installments at this point.

I'll bet Gears 3 too.

people can fly (epic) is doing something with EA, and that's multi

Didnt John Davison say a wii hd in 2010 on 1up yours, a long time before pachter even mentioned it?

Yup, he posted an article on What They Play saying he spoke to several sources confirming that there is new hardware coming.

Gears 3 would be big, but not a smart move on Microsofts part. Why show both Reach and Gears at the same time, when Gears is 2011 at the earliest.

I don't think he's said anything about GoW3, but Sony has said that the next footage of the game won't be released until next month. So it shouldn't be at this show.
